What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, minimal learning curve, flexibility, add-ons/macros, ability to kep on growing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Costs, the leaps between user tiers can be large and if you use a lot of paid-for macros the expense of doing so can soon mount up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
External tech docs/user guides. Internally using it as the intranet. Collaboration in all depts from dev and customer support to internal business support such as accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Clear pricing, very easy to use no matter the user type or needs.

Good for Documentation, Not easy to Navigate

  • August 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The linkages between Confluence and Jira are great and make it easy to create pages to track and communicate status of work the team is managing in Jira. Static documentation for releases can be stored and searched.
What do you dislike about the product?
When teams are using confluence as a collaborative space or for housing research it can become difficult to navigate and find what you are looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is a space for the entire company to share information. The biggest benefit is being able to go to confluence and use the search function to find the answer to a question you have without needing to ask a bunch of people.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are using Jira, Confluence is a great complimentary tool.

Accomplishes what it needs to...No Frills

  • August 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Organize all work for my team easily. Attach files. Can quickly search using queries to find exactly what I need. All team members are very aware of how to use jira to organize themselves.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really bad versioning. Annoying to replace files with newer versions. Updating Jira tickets doesn't really propagate down from Epics to stories. Find myself copying and pasting a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Large scale dev across multi platforms. Keeping all devs organized and on track.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are good at querying then utilizing this on a day to day is easy. Burndown charts are nice, but take some time to get used to. Great to add filters to projects to narrow down your work.

Ultra-Detailed Team Collaboration

  • August 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the suite of tools that Confluence provides. We currently use the Confluence Wiki, JIRA and HipChat, each with their own unique features and benefits.

The Wiki works as our company encyclopedia. If anyone wants to know, "What did this specific document at this point in time?" We can pull it up in the wiki and provide them with the document(s) they're looking for. Although it can get quite technical, JIRA is, by far, the best project management software I've used in my career. It's based on the SCRUM system, which kind of game-ifies your workful, and dare I say, makes it a little fun.

HipChat is the Confluence's version of Skype, which makes inter-departmental communication a whole lot easier. The ability to create "rooms" for certain projects is also great.
What do you dislike about the product?
As robust as it is, Confluence requires some serious planning and time to set up for your team and their specific needs. If you've got a web-development wizard on staff, this can be cake. If not, it seems like you can set yourself up for a lot of error and miscommunication down the road. That being said, I've never been the one to set up Confluence or communicated with their support staff, so take this with a grain of salt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've made, and still are making, our workflow as simple and streamlined as possible with JIRA. Without it, I couldn't imagine how slow and tedious it would be to finish projects on time. I've realized that keeping track of projects and keeping people accountable is an obvious benefit, but JIRA just enhances this benefit even further.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend using Confluence, whether you've got a team of 5, 50 or more. It tracks everything and keeps all users accountable for the tasks they're assigned to.

As robust as it is, Confluence requires some serious planning and time to set up for your team and their specific needs. If you've got a web-development wizard on staff, this can be cake. If not, it seems like you can set yourself up for a lot of error and miscommunication down the road.

Great platform for knowledge sharing

  • August 22, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great platform for knowledge sharing. I can easily set up a page for my team and we can collaborate by edit the page with the info we need and upload files for others to download. Calendar is another great place to share information as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I try to copy paste already formatted content, it will not work in confluence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledge and file sharing with confluence. It is a go-to place when we have questions. We are working more efficiently as we could get the answer from the pages without emailing other parties.
