What do you like best about the product?
This is one of the best software that helps organize as well as manage files effectively and efficiently
It supports multiple media formats such as videos, link...
It is easy to learn and use the software
The searching function helps me a lot in handling and working
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to install more widgets to have more funtions
It offers a quite complicated interface
There are not many functions for editing documents
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this software for my team to manage documents. Also, I can share or upload technical documents so I can access them everytime and everywhere
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can use the trial version before making a decision to install for your team

Just what you need for a business wiki

What do you like best about the product?
This site is great to organize, compile, and prepare documentation for all industries during the backend. You can have different pages on varying topics and in depth as necessary! You can put in as much as you like and tie it into tasks for work to do as well as connecting it to other applications like Jira for issues, trello for other tasks, and more!
What do you dislike about the product?
The summer 2017 version makes it look like a much older version and isn't as easy to reach everything (extra steps with extra buttons). When you're compiling a page that mentions the others and connects them, it doesn't always connect them so I have to retrace through a few pages before relinking them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multichannel communication, resource development, and overall documentation. The benefits are having a website we can turn to for old information, place new information there, and could review. We can make notes on them, create links with updates, and review as necessary.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It looks daunting at first but it's pretty easy to get started. Dive right in and you'll find how easy it is. Every business needs something like this.

Good but needs better organization

What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can label the documents different things like "how to" and other items
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to navigate. If you accidentally make a page, you can't delete it. Instead of making sections and being able to change them, it all has to be re-arranged and moved about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better onboarding of new employees
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have a road map set out before starting to use it

Great for documentation

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has a sleek look. It has a simple UI with a white background. Making a page is very easy. When you add a link to any text and set it to point to a internal page, a blank page will automatically be created. Moreover, the search functionality is great. I found the search alogrithm to be very efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI sometimes looks too cluttered with too much text everywhere. I prefer a cleaner look without much clutter. The UI might not seem 'intelligent' as it follows a Wikipedia style.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The company I worked for used Confluence for all documentation purposes. Each new feature of the products were documented using Confluence. Moreover, any suggestions to future developers were put in Confluence as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a great product to try. The efficient search algorithm is very handy when your documentation is large and you need to quickly find things. You can organize your documents in a hierarchical order too, making it more handy.

A really complicated library of knowledge

  • August 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We do like that Confluence can hold every bit of text-based information that we have.
What do you dislike about the product?
We dislike how complicated it is to use, how annoying it is to move articles around, and how we have to keep our tables that include calculations somewhere else.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence to storage every text-based material we have. It really helps us share information with people working remotely.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
its a good place keep all team/project releated information documented
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI features are very monolithic, it should have more great UI features included.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation of the process
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good product for documenting the stuff details used across multiple teams.

Newer Confluence User

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to navigate once you're in the right spot, and can host all our team info in one place. Much easier to navigate than SharePoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting to the right spot can be difficult, finding team pages that aren't bookmarked, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now have a central repository for all our team projects. Cool thing about calendars is that it sends an email to the whole group to notify when new events are added to the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to learn it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to dedicate time to research and fly by the seat of my pants.

Good for information dumping

  • August 30, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
Like the ability to drag documents onto project pages so all information is contained in one location. Also the flexibility of building custom templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish the search functionality was more robust.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This allows all project details (schedules, estimates, scripts, boards) to be found in one location.

Confluence is what make you of it and you can do a lot!

  • August 30, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I loved the simplicity of it. We scratched the surface of it but it became central to all of our processes. We had a regular saying: "is that on Confluence?". Our goal was to remove the materials that were shared via email and Slack that would just die there and ensure that they were incorporated into Confluence.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was essentially the business owner but I never saw any best practice webinars or communication. There is a big opportunity for Atlassian to figure out the Customer Success side to maximize adoption. We could have done so much more with Confluence.

Confluence wasn't incorporated into the regular day to day so while we had our processes stored there, they were rarely utilized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a common place that we could store our standardized processes.
Confluence allowed us to do this.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need to work through how Confluence will fit into your workflow. I would look at other players out there before I would opt for Confluence again. I like the tool but the processes needed to be more accessible.

Useful documentation tool

  • August 29, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to edit pages whether I'm the creator of the page or not. It's easy to keep pages up-to-date so that anyone else may see only relevant information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the 'like' feature as it is hardly used at my organization. There's no functional need to be able to 'like' a page and it makes it try to sound like a social media application. If you 'like' the content on the page, it is much easier to bookmark it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all processes and information regarding particular aspects so that new hires or anyone really can see what has been previously documented.
