Ugly, simple and 0 efficient
What do you like best about the product?
Nothing to be honest. It's difficult to find something good about Confluence at least, using it in the way I use it in my company. It tries to be like a wiki for each project and a collaboration tool but it's interface is not very friendly. At least is a good place to centralice data and information of a project although it gets out of date quite soon because it's difficult to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is old and ugly. It's not easy to find things and the search input does not work very well. It does not do anything that a normal wiki software wouldn't do. As I said before, probably is the way we're using it but I see many other products in the market far better looking and easy to use than this. As a collaboration tool it does not work as well, it does not engage with the user and we basically start using it the first weeks but we all give up very soon because we find other ways to store information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for projects. We try to store information and use it for collaboration but it's not friendly and we always end up forgetting about it. We use JIRA a lot and confluence comes with it, this is why we always give it a try...
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do not use it, there are several other products out there better than this.
Good for collaboration and search
What do you like best about the product?
I like the tagging structure and being able to give my sales team access to every piece of content we make in a way that makes searching for exactly what they need in the moment simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface isn't super pretty. And I feel like I get too many notifications automatically.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using Confluence to solve resource management, company updates on product development, and more. We like having a single source of truth.
Confluence not for the beginner
What do you like best about the product?
I like that all reference documents, company happenings, important announcements can all go in once spot. Each department has their own area to manage along with a corporate area.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me, the program is hard to use. Unless you have some HTML or website background, it is hard to post items unless they are word or PDF based. It could be the way ours is set up but I really dislike having to put information up on the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everyone in the company can get to what they need to get to. You can have private areas or areas everyone can see the information. Departmentally, we use it to post procedures for support.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your users are prepared to have to work a bit in order to post items.
Continues to get better
What do you like best about the product?
I like the tagging elements so you can notify people when they'r comments are needed. I also like the follow/watch element for periodic updates on key items.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit of trouble to navigate around if you don't know exactly where you want to go or the topic you want to find.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need the ability for a global knowledge and resource sharing. Confluence has been great for that and we've seen improved collaboration and improve communication on a variety of topics ranging from competitor analysis to product release updates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a very handy tool for large distributed groups that need to share lots of information both in terms of volume but also variety.
It works ok for some things, but needs updating
What do you like best about the product?
It's worked well for knowledge base type stuff, but we just ended up moving mostly to Google or Dropbox.
What do you dislike about the product?
Site needs updating. It feels pretty out of date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledge base
Confluence used as a team for shared documents
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has many ways to make a page unique to a specific team.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my use of Confluence for shared documents with other teams, it was difficult to track changes made to a document by other teams, like other document sharing programs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Confluence to share documents throughout teams for review and editing. We have realized the benefit of everyone having access to the same document, without it being stored on everyone's individual team drives.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take any training available for this product. It seems challenging, but with the right training, time and effort, a team can create a confluence page unique to them, with great reporting capabilities.
Amazing place to find all documents written by team
What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
We need to understand and remember suyntax.
