One thing that could be improved in Confluence is the performance, especially when working with large pages or many embedded elements, as it sometimes feels slow. The editor can also feel a bit heavy, and simple formatting changes may take more steps than expected. Searching for older or deeply nested pages is not always very intuitive, and better search filters would help. The page hierarchy, templates, and powerful search help keep documentation structured and easy to find, even as content grows over time. I especially like the seamless integration with other Atlassian tools like Jira, which allows linking requirements, tickets, and decisions in one place. Real-time editing, comments, and version history make it simple for multiple users to collaborate without losing track of changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
We frequently face access issues for some users, especially when permissions are inherited across spaces and pages. Troubleshooting who has access and why can be time-consuming, and permission changes do not always feel intuitive or immediately reflected. This creates occasional delays for users who need quick access to documentation.

What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Confluence is that sometimes it feels slow. When I open a document and try to edit it, it can take time to load properly. Due to this lag, some changes may not get saved if the page hasn't fully loaded, and I have to redo my work. This can be frustrating at times. Other than this performance issue, everything else about Confluence is good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem Confluence is solving and how it benefits me is that it helps centralize and manage all company documentation in one place with proper structure and version control. in my company we use confluence to create and maintain important documents like company policies Whenever there is a change in policy (for example, a data retention policy), I can easily update the document. The best part is that Confluence maintains a complete version history. so I can easily check what changes were made earlier and revert or review them if needed. Confluence also provides a powerful document editor with many features for creating and editing documents. It supports formatting, structured content, images, tables, and more, which gives everything needed to create professional policy documents. As a backend developer, I also use Confluence extensively for API documentation and system design documentation. We need to document new system designs, API payloads, and workflows and share them with the entire team. Confluence makes this easy by allowing us to keep everything in one shared place, ensuring all team members are aligned. Another big benefit is collaboration and discussion. If there is any issue or improvement needed in a document, a team member can comment, request an update, and discuss changes directly on the page. this helps us keep documents accurate and up-to-date. We also publish some of our API documentation using Confluence so it can be easily accessed by relevant users.

Although Confluence is a popular tool, its frequent use often results in cluttered spaces and pages that become difficult to organize. As the amount of content increases, it can be harder to find relevant information, which reduces its overall ease of use. Implementing and integrating Confluence can also be more challenging for larger teams, particularly when dealing with custom permissions or workflows. While the platform offers a wide range of features, some of them may seem unnecessary or even overwhelming. Additionally, customer support can be slow to respond to non-critical issues.
