A solid tool for team collaboration and documentation

  • September 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence stands out for its intuitive interface and seamless integration with other Atlassian products, making it an excellent choice for collaborative documentation and knowledge sharing. I particularly appreciate how easy it is to create, organize, and search for content, which significantly improves team productivity. The ability to customize pages with macros and templates allows for flexibility in presenting information, and the real-time collaboration features ensure that everyone stays on the same page. Overall, Confluence has become an essential tool for managing project documentation and fostering transparent communication within our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Confluence offers many valuable features, there are areas that could be improved. The permission settings can sometimes be complex to manage, especially in larger organizations with multiple teams and spaces. Additionally, the performance can occasionally lag when working with very large pages or attachments. Some users may also find the learning curve a bit steep when first getting started, particularly with advanced formatting and macros. Despite these challenges, the benefits generally outweigh the drawbacks, and ongoing updates continue to address many of these concerns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence addresses several key challenges related to team collaboration and knowledge management. It provides a centralized platform where teams can create, store, and organize documentation, making information easily accessible to everyone. This helps eliminate information silos and ensures that important project details, meeting notes, and processes are well-documented and searchable. As a result, our team experiences improved transparency, faster onboarding for new members, and more efficient collaboration across departments. The ability to track changes and maintain version history also ensures accountability and consistency in our documentation practices.

Simple, reliable place for our team docs

  • September 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that everything's in one place - meeting notes, project specs, onboarding docs and leave calendar. It's easy to find and setup the latest version and everyone can collaborate without sending a dozen files around. I Love the collaborative editing and templates. Team members can jump in, update pages and leave comments -- which keeps content fresh and reduce back and fourth meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some formatting controls are annoying (tables and layouts can be fiddly), the mobile app isn't great. also get pricey as your team grows. And also Permissions and space setup are confusing for new users, which leads to messy pages if no one enforces structure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence gives us a single source of truth for specs, runbooks and notes. That means fewer repeated question, faster onboarding and less time digging for info -- which speeds up everyday work. Also It captures decisions and context in one place and links them to our Jira work, so stakeholder and new teammates can quickly understand why things happened.

Great knowledge hub for our team but with a slow learning curve

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up templates help our team set up knowledge bases for our engineering team. It helps us integrate with other Atlassian apps (mainly jira service management & jira software). It helps us update code documentations and information for users, contractors, and stakeholders at a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to use for smaller teams and projects in the organization. It can feel extremely overkill for simple documentation needs. For most cases its better to just use a simpler tool like notion or a larger doc file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence helps us keep IT documentations up to date for the engineering teams. It allows large teams in the organization and external users, contractors, collaborators and stakeholders find information about products & projects. Our teammates find it easy to stay up to date and constantly update knowledge bases about projects on a daily basis.

Best tools for manage project documentation

  • September 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a Java developer with over 5 years of experience in agile teams, I've used Confluence to manage project documentation, knowledge bases, and collaborative wikis for about 3 years. It connects smoothly with our Jira setup letting us link requirements straight to code changes and team notes without changing tools.

Great for team editing—several devs can work on pages at the same time, which changes the game during sprint planning or when fixing problems.

The search works well making it easy to find hidden info on Java frameworks or old bug fixes.

Templates for API docs and release notes cut down on work when new team members start.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app feels awkward for quick edits away from the desk, and sometimes pages load with big attachments.

Custom options are strong but take time to learn if you're not into macros.
On the whole, Confluence has had a positive impact on our team's productivity by bringing all our knowledge together in one place. I'd suggest it to any development team that relies on Atlassian tools—it's a good investment just for how well it fits into your workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Confluence, our team’s documentation (API specs, architecture diagrams, meeting notes) was scattered across emails, Google Docs, and local drives. This made it hard to find critical info, like Java class structures or deployment steps, especially during tight deadlines.

Confluence provides a single source of truth where I can store and organize all project-related docs. For example, I can quickly access REST API documentation or database schema notes linked to specific Jira tickets. This saves me at least 2-3 hours a week searching for information, letting me focus on coding.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it becomes a single repository for all our documentation and that there can be collaborative editing of content. I also like to the connection to JIRA to allow a smooth transition between managing flow and understanding context.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to get properly setup, with permissions etc. It actually takes quite a bit of time to work out your own workflow and THEN setup confluence/JIRa and other integrations to fit into that... out of the box... not so great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single source of content in relation to project work and ability to collaborate on documentation

The Go-To Platform for Documenting Team Processes and Decisions.

  • September 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Confluence is how incredibly easy it is to use and how effectively it serves as a central hub for our team's knowledge. The platform is so intuitive that anyone can quickly start creating, editing, and sharing documents without needing any special training. I also value the wide range of macros and templates available, which make it straightforward to build well-structured pages for project plans, meeting notes, and technical documentation.
The simple implementation process was a major benefit for us; we were able to get our team and initial projects up and running within just a few days. Another significant advantage is how easily Confluence integrates with other Atlassian products, such as Jira.
This integration creates a seamless workflow, ensuring our project work always stays connected to the right context and requirements.
As a result, we've solved the issue of fragmented information, saving countless hours and improving our team's alignment. Additionally, the platform's speed and frequency of use have made our daily work even more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
My main frustration with Confluence stems from its occasional performance issues. When working with very large spaces containing thousands of pages, the search function can become sluggish, and page loading times are noticeably longer. Although customer support is generally reliable, resolving more specific or niche issues can be time-consuming, often requiring a deep dive into their extensive knowledge base.
Another significant drawback is that, despite Confluence's user-friendly interface, maintaining organization can be challenging.
Without a dedicated Space Administrator to oversee content, spaces can quickly become cluttered with outdated, irrelevant, or duplicate pages, which in turn makes the search function less effective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence addresses the major challenge of having a disorganized and fragmented knowledge base. Before adopting it, our team's information was spread across multiple platforms, making it extremely difficult to locate the right document, project plan, or meeting notes. This led to significant wasted time and frustration.

Now, I rely on Confluence as our central, single source of truth for all team knowledge. I use it extensively for IT documentation, which ensures our team always has access to current information on processes and technical details. It has also become my main platform for project collaboration, enabling me to create project plans, monitor progress, and keep all meeting notes in one easily accessible place. Additionally, we manage our team's work through Confluence by building dashboards and trackers to visualize our progress. This approach has greatly improved team alignment and significantly shortened the onboarding process for new members. In the end, Confluence has helped me establish a unified workspace that has made our team both more efficient and more effective.
