Confluence best sharing tool in our company!

  • August 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The possibility to document so many different things using one tool has no price. We are using Confluence for sharing various information between all our teams and employees as well as our customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
During the creation of the page content, occasionally, there are "bugs" which should not appear. Additionally, some macros do not turn out in the live version as they do appear in the background.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Information sharing is the main benefit of having Confluence - that is why we also call it wiki. The main benefit is efficient documenting and time-saving. Nowadays, when I receive a question about a topic we have already covered with Confluence, I forward the link without investing almost any time in replying to the request.

Confluence review

  • August 01, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like things that are made easy and intuitive and I think Confluence is great, easy-made, simple UI. Easy to build pages, subpages, tables, adding screenshots, or other images/pictures.
I like the editing option, adding new pages, creating spaces, making my life so much easir. I prefer this platform over others I have worked with in the past.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am missing the audit and history of pages. I like to see what was changed and when and by whom.
In Confluence, I was not able to find such an option. And even worst, when space was deleted, and I was not able to find it or trace parts of it, as an end user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I enjoy using Confluence to keep track of customer's customizations and unique information.
I also use it to create wiki pages on how to set up and make changes for users or my own user in different applications.
I use it also to create a better workflow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is an excellent tool for so many usages, quickly made customers pages.
It can store many spaces for various subjects, I enjoy using it for the past seven years.
I have used this platform in 3 different work places. Compared with other similar tools, this one is liked best on me, as it was the easiest, simple UI and move user friendly.
I am sure I will recommend this application to be used wherever I go.

Average publishing tool, gets messy in a hurry

  • July 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's quick and easy to use. You just log in and hit the edit button to update a page that you're looking at, or hit the Create button to make a new page. All of the basic editing functions are there and easy to use. Nothing too fancy, just the basics here. Publishing is easy and notifying stakeholders is automated. It's a good tool for disseminating information around an organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Doing anything beyond basic text editing can be a bit tricky and not particularly intuitive. The worst thing about it though is that if you have everyone adding content and no process for organizing your documentation, it gets messy in a hurry. Assigning articles/pages to topics/subtopics is clunky and the interface tends to encourage users to create blank pages. Trying to browse for content can be frustrating and the search tool leaves much to be desired.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it as an internal documentation repository. It's been good for quick-hit articles that include screenshots and code snippets, but more comprehensive topics (ex. New Hire Onboarding) are not easy to keep organized.

Easy Document Sharing and Integration

  • July 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is very user friendly for have collaboratively edited documents, where you can add both text and media. You can easily integrate with other platforms, and tag users to bring their attention to something.
What do you dislike about the product?
It generally works pretty well when multiple users are editing the same document, but I have ran into issues when my changes weren't saved because someone else was editing the same document. However, it does save your changes in a temp file so they are not lost forever.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to get ideas from my team members virtually, and come up with solid plans for our tasking. We put these tasks into Jira and are able to link back to them in Confluence.

Confluence review

  • July 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence allows you to build your projects out with some ability to collaborate with your team during the process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence is not user-friendly and was hard to learn. I have accidentally deleted multiple project plans. It has been 1-2 years using the tool, and I am still not familiar. Hard to undo changes made, and you have to use a keyboard shortcut.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence helps me build out my projects and be aware of deadlines.

Excellent collaboration tool from Atlassian

  • July 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Confluence is organizing project information into Spaces and Page trees. Easier to create content that is accessible by the whole team in seconds. The access level restrictions help us control who can view and edit your page before it's live or published. Integration with Jira and other Atlassian products is always a plus for the Atlassian community. I can easily manage all my product requirements, standard operating procedures, etc., with ease, and collaboration is simple and flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
The availability of more business templates for use by various teams across the organization should improve. Considering the current functionality of adding dynamic content to the pages is ok concerning basic organization needs, Atlassian should enhance this feature within confluence pages. Nothing else from the improvement standpoint as the tool is marvelous.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I track all my product requirements in the Confluence tool then share them with various business teams to review and comment. We also draft all the standard operating procedures, support manuals in confluence for the benefit of multiple stakeholders across the organization. Collaboration across various business and technology teams is so easy and seamless.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is one of the best collaboration tools in the market. If your company is thinking of switching to the Atlassian suite, Confluence is worth having in your technology stack. I recommend Confluence for almost all sized organizations to improve collaboration and reduce documentation efforts.

Best documentation tool

  • July 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The formatting tool and the macro together work like a charm. In addition the support of JIRA makes it awesome. Some things that I really like
1. Great formatting tools
2. Version history
3. Create URL for headings
4. Add Macro's (there are some brilliant Macro's provided), the best one is heirarchy
5. Use JQL (Jira Query Language) on the page itself.
6. Use plugins like Asana, FIGMA etc.
7. Create template that can be used by the team
8. N level sub-pages
9. Permissons of spaces
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite being the perfect tool there are some flaws of the product
1. It is laggy, sometimes super laggy.
2. Sometimes I cannot save/publish pages for reason that Confluence says "no internet"
3. Sometimes (1 in 100), the pages I try to say do not get saved.
4. The export to PDF does not have great formatting
5. It is missing an important feature of "suggesting" that we have in Google Docs.
6. Better use of URLs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem we are trying to solve with Confluence is creating all sorts of documentations. What I have created using Confluence
1. Frequently asked questions
2. Product Requirement Documentation (PRD)
3. Technical Documentation
4. User Stories
5. Business Requirement Documentation (BRD)
6. Knowledge articles
7. User Persona
8. Functional Requirement Documentation (FRD)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it if documentation is an important part of your organisation.
