Great experience to translate all our projects easily - Crowdin is powerfull

  • July 27, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
All possibilities of Crowdin ! not just translate but automate, Crowdin help users to win a lot of time when you are not a translator. As a developer, I like sync with API and Gitlab CI. pre translate and auto validate translations are great features too. Adding a new language is easy and quick. Last thing, the team behind the chat to help user is very nice !
What do you dislike about the product?
Crowdin is a big machine, a lot of possibilities and well documented but with a lot of windows, tabs, pages... you can be lost sometimes and it might take you some time to understand all and navigate quickly when you have to configure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin help us to translate different projects with great and helpful interface. We use often same terms, we win time and all translations are syncronised quickly. And we can add people just for translation outside the developer team.

It is helpful in terms of providing a complete package of computer aided translation tool, translation management, cost management, etc.

Holistic tool for open source i18n

  • July 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Comprehensive tool for software translation (i18n). Easy to use UI. Well trained translation agent with reasonably precise translations help to speed up the overall process. Facilitate reviewing translations of others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Web UI (in general) although not bad is (usually) not optimized for doing many things at once (too much back and forth, many clicks, single view). Depending on the volume of translations, you would like to use desktop tools like PoEdit to ease the process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I usually contribute translations to open source tools.

The experience has been perfect so far so really cant complain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Makes translations easier for our app

  • July 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing is that my team gets translated files quick and easy! We upload our string files and translators translate it in the various languages. We then simply download it and load the translations to our app.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've found our current process to be manual intensive. I have reached out for help on how to automate translations on our mobile app, but have not been successful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It improves the accessibility of our app. We are able to release our app to every corner of the world, knowing that it will be available to every user in a language that they will know.

The best experience for translations!

  • July 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything just works. It works with a wide range of tools and programming languages, which is really helpful. They provide a free plan for open source projects, so we can invite how many collaboirators we want to translate our OSS project without that costing us a cent. The API/webhooks allow us to integrate with our workflow on GitHub and Discord.
What do you dislike about the product?
They offer consulting to help you to translate to another languages. It's kinda expensive, though, but nothing stops you from translating the content yourself (if you speak the language) or hire another consultants.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives us the infrastructure we need so we can have collaborators translating our website to different languages. It integrates well with GitHub and Discord, and support a wide range of programming languages and tools.

A Powerful Localization Platform with Seamless Integrations and Top-Notch Support

  • July 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Crowdin is its exceptional versatility and seamless integration capabilities. As someone who manages content across various platforms and tools, this feature has been a game-changer for me. Love Intercom and GitHub apps!
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to see more documentation. Although the support always responds very quickly and helps in all cases. it seems that it would be better to be able to get detailed instructions yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining translation quality. Crowdin's built-in features for translation reviews, glossaries, and translation memory help maintain a high level of consistency throughout all projects file.

Crowdin is a great platform to manage all your documents when you are working with several languages

  • July 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the option to have an overview of all the documents I have to translated and the progress. Also I like the option to include external machine translation engines and the option to manage my glossary in order to keep the consistency.
What do you dislike about the product?
Personally, I see not really user-friendly the option of proofreading the pre-translated text. I prefer the option where I can see the document in the same format as the transaltion step.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin is working to improve the user experience. Since I started using it, I saw a few improvements that make easier the work to me. For example, the colour palette changed, to make a clearer difference between the translation and proofreading.

I use it to help translate open source projects like Open Collective, Mastodon, etc.

  • July 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is free for open source projects and the experience is higher than the average value of similar products.

It has nice built-in machine translation tools that help me simply determine the content.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's frustrating that it doesn't retain the original contributor's information when committing a commit to a Git project.

There is no syntax highlighting in the translation box, which is what makes long text with lots of syntax hard to recognize.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to submit translations to a number of open source projects. It saves me from having to manually go through the diff with the original text that has changed.

Crowdin - A great place to manage your translations

  • July 25, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to have community members join as translators to be able to suggest translations without having to give them full permissions to the project. Crowdin is also nice that it doesn't have to commit each change, and can manage translations outside of git, but if you want to do that you can too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation around using the API is missing some practical examples of how to use some endpoints leading me to have to go through several iterations of API calls to be able to get the expected request format.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use crowdin for a large community software project, and crowdin assists with being able to allow many of the community members to offer software localization.
