Initial struggles to
What do you like best about the product?
The folks at Crowdin are very friendly and always try to help.
The solutions they have and the hacks they come up with to solve a particular problem are pretty impressive.
Support is very prompt. You get an instant response on chat.
If there's one thing thats the best - it's Andriy - their head of customer support. He's ever willing to jump on a call and help sort out issues. And we have had a ton!

What do you dislike about the product?
Not the most easy to use tool. There are several ways to do the same thing. And this is confusing. Needs a lot more usability testing.
There's no context available to the translator.
We use a lot of screenshots (our content is technical). When it is pulled in through an integration, there's a lot of breakage! There's also no context. Only the string is pulled in and the translator doesn't see the screenshot. This makes the entire translation less than useful.

What do you like best about the product?
It's free to join and contribute to many projects, and its also easy to get contribution from many people from around the world.
The navigation around the website is easy to learn. There are tools to help you localize better, such as discussions with other people and AI generated translations to help you save time. There is even a upvote system to vote for people's translations, so the best one is chosen.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the discussion board is very empty, so no one is there to discuss the best translation for a string. For that can be hard to get the project heads to change a translation to a improved one later.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to get the most natural and authentic translations to a culture by having many native speakers constribute to the project. This increases the chances that public will enjoy the final project much more.

This platform is a very good platform for online community translation. I appreciate the simplicity of the interface

Crowdin is a bit expensive, also, I don't like the review system.

Crowdin can allow a more easy way to translate big projects . Also, the fact than the community can translate projects is also a very important point, and allow to spend time on other aspects of a project
Simple but good translation tool
What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin's simple but intuitive interface makes it easy to translate languages and export them for your project. Especially the screenshots help a lot to show the community what needs to be translated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, the automatically generated translations from Crodwin are mostly useless. It would be best to use tools like DeepL instead of Google.

It helps to easily have newly developed strings translated by the community.
All-in-one translation platform
What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin gives multiple machine translation options, including a free in-house one. It is one of the few services that offers free plans for open-source projects and it gives almost all a user wants when editing and adding translations: keyboard shortcuts, good editor UI, ...
What do you dislike about the product?
The editor sometimes is a bit slow when saving translations and auto-translated strings are not always responsive.

What do you like best about the product?
The panel is easy to understand and use, it supports dark mode, and lets you keep informed about new translations available.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's been a few months and the 'keep me logged in' feature does not work for me at all.

It helps me have a team of translators that can help me keep my website translated, and not me having to manually translate everything.
Perfect software for indie games
What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin is easy to translate games, even old people can use this website to translate whatever thing they want

The only think missing is a live chat to talk with the team

Crowdin solved my problem with collaboration, now my team can work with other people in real time, manking things more productive
Great for string-based translation, not so for prose-based translation
What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin has, from my experiences with web-based translation tools, the most attractive and easy to use user interface for translating strings. It works especially well for smaller strings, such as descriptions for fields, buttons and the like, seen in e.g. clients for web pages or even some videogames.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say Crowdin is not suitable for usage on longer prose text pieces (such as documentation pages) that don't consist of independent strings, but are one whole text. While it does work initially, the reason for this is that changes to the source text will result in inaccurate mapping of previous translation to new source text, resulting in a need to fix up every translation made to suit the changed source text.

Through Crowdin, I'm able to translate and manage translations of website projects into various different languages from a single source language.

Crowdin is very useful for localization, especially for our use when it implies the community. The community can help translate projects they believe in, and we're thankful for them to help us with that!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advantages are too expensive for small businesses/hobbyists, which is unfortunate.

Accessibility. It's way easier to browse our game server.
Perfect software for gaming translation
What do you like best about the product?
You can upload a lot of files as .PO. txt and images like .png and .psd
What do you dislike about the product?
One think i don't liked as the lack of themes for crowdin, but dark mode and white is fine
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin solved my problem with translation of a game, my team was using notepad++ to translate the game and the collaboration was difficult, so we discovered crowdin and everything changed for better.
