Seamless translations
What do you like best about the product?
Itegration with our Gitlab pipeline has been seamless over a couple of years, with no maintainance required. It has been pretty easy to work with and add translation terms. The integrated translation machines are a pretty decent and helpful resource too. Helpdesk and Support have been excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I disliked. Everything worked as promised.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seamless integration of new translations as terms are being added to our software. The intergated translation machines save us the trouble of having to go to external services for small tasks. Adds efficiency and reduces costs.
One of the best web-based CAT tools but PMs will miss some fatures
What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin places very well compared to some other web-based translation editors, and does have a great technical support team - answers are quick, to the point, and helpful. From an individual translator’s perspective it has good collaborative features – especially context info and commenting options are very well done even compared to the leading CATs on the market. It has an easy setup process, it’s user-friendly, has a good UI and does have the basic linguistic options such as concordance search and a built-in QA module.
What do you dislike about the product?
From a project manager's perpspective, quality process as well as workflow, task assignments and finance management need a more robust technology which Crowdin doesn’t provide. Crowdin TM and glossary management options are scarce; there is no batch features, segments can only be edited one by one and the search is also quite limited.

great for continuous loc work
Great for crowdsourcing work, not great for complex files
What do you like best about the product?
CrowdIn's interface is easy to use. The label function is convenient, and the filter options are helpful. I like the task management setup and linguist communication functions like the message board. They help keep the team on task and in the loop. Running machine translation is a breeze as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lack of security features on CrowdIn. You cannot restrict linguists to certain files. They either have full access to the project and files, or they have none. There are many times when I need linguists to stay within a certain task or label, and there's no way to do it. There is a "restrict access to task" feature in options, but it doesn't work well at all.
One of my biggest complaints is that there is not better ability to import multilingual files. That's a pretty common format in the translation industry so it doesn't make sense that it's not better supported.

Easy CAT tool for linguists to acclimate to quickly. So projects can get off the ground quickly.
Surprisingly well though out software
What do you like best about the product?
The GitHub integration is great and really removes the usual pains of dealing with translations. Having new strings and new translations in sync with the source code is invaluable.
The tools provided to translator clearly understand the common issues that need to be solved when translating software: string length differences, variable names that should not be translated, etc.
Customer support is responsive and will actually help you find solutions to your problems.

What do you dislike about the product?
Onboarding could be easier, your are initially dropped into your dashboard without much guidance and have to figure things out by yourself which will take a bit of trial and error at first.
Integration with some languages/file formats is sometimes opinionated and does not offer simple toggles.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin helps us manage the the translation of our SaaS software without wasting engineering time exporting and importing translation files to and from various translation teams.
I'm on a free plan. And support still works fine
What do you like best about the product?
I was trying to compare crowdin and smartcat. Tallking about support the difference is crusial. Crowdin responds to my emails in 8 minutes. Smartcat replies never!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no marketplace of freelance translators as in smartcat. And if you are new to localisation, it may be unclear how to work with vendors.
What do crowdin and smartcat have in common?
They both send you a welcome email offering to schedule a call to discuss all the possibilities. When you pick a time, they confirm the call, which you wait about 2 days for.
On the day of the call, when half an hour is left before the meeting, they write to you in an email that you are not a company and not a business, so we will not meet with you, sorry, we have such rules.
Ok! PE does not count)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin is an integrated solution that I can use by creating tasks for professional proofreading or translations
A bit complex to get through the options
What do you like best about the product?
The LQA process. Like how it calculates all the necessary parameters and gives a fair result.
What do you dislike about the product?
Going back and forth to the options, the work gets slow in between.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing all the projects in one space, making communication easy for translators and proofreaders
Easy and quick to use, but might leave some challenges for some usecases
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to create and manage projects, give context to translators, various views in the editor, rather quick and simple menus to go through, very quick support.
Although I wasn't involved in that process, we have been able to integrate Crowdin with Git to automate the exchange between source files and translation files and easily use the translations in our product.

What do you dislike about the product?
We miss an option to automatically fill all similar untranslated strings when we've added a translation (and now use pre-translation for that sometimes, which is not ideal).
I also miss an option to add new members to a project from a list of existing users and immediately determine their permissions, that would work easier than inviting them by typing their names.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin helps us to translate the texts/labels we show within the software tool we produce. Since we're delivering a cloud solution that receives frequent updates, we need a translation tool with which we can easily provide newly translatable strings to our translators, and also retrieve back those translations to quickly add them to our tool. It also helps us to gain more consistency throughout these labels.
We also use Crowdin to translate our product documentation. By combining these two tasks within one tool, we can share a glossary and can use the other project as reference.

Spot on fun functionality and great support
What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin does what it should, support translation management of large multilingual projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not easy to use for occasional translators. It would be great if Crowdin would start supporting Google Docs and Slides.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster translation and collaborative translation
I used the tool to validate some pre-translated strings
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, easy flow iteraction, clear steps to follow
What do you dislike about the product?
multiple selection sometimes was not possible or really difficult to have, sometimes I lost all the selection for a wrong click (the box is too small)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The across subsidiaries coordination and management
My experience with Crowdin has been exceptionally positive.

In my weekly use of Crowdin, I've come to appreciate its standout feature—the user-friendly interface that simplifies the management and collaboration on translation projects. This has become especially valuable in my routine, enhancing efficiency in the translation process through its robust collaborative tools and ultimately boosting my productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my experience, I've found that Crowdin may have a bit of a learning curve for beginners due to occasional interface complexities. For those unfamiliar with translation project management tools, it could pose a challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Localization of application for world-wide use.
