Good product, excellent team!

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Crowdin's UI is easy to navigate and understand. For basic integrations, it works seamlessly - and for more complex integrations, Crowdin's support team is hugely helpful and talented. I feel well-taken care of as a customer. I went from understanding very little about the platform to feeling much more confident. The support team has always supported my learning and comfortability with the product - and they are responsive and kind in their communication.
What do you dislike about the product?
Crowdin has a high learning curve. I wish that the customization options were more straightforward and easier to implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin is helping us maintain our translation memories and integrate our various product offerings so that we can offer localized products and support documentation.

A very efficient localization software for global teams

  • August 20, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In my opinion, the most valuable asset of Crowdin is the clarity of the UI as well as the availability of powerful project management features. It is rather easy to communicate with the translators as well as to monitor the project’s progress at any moment. They slow down our frontend and uses requests to keep the translation files updated with tools like GitHub and Slack. The automation and the support to a number of languages allowed for great progress in the localization process.
What do you dislike about the product?
One drawback, with Crowdin is that the system is not very fast and this is most apparent when working on complex projects that include many language files. These slowdowns are always irritating, and at times, have caused disruptions in our project schedules. Moreover, the rather high prices that are offered might be a bit steep for the teams that are just starting or have a limited budget to work with. These weaknesses have at times affected our operations and have forced us to search for stop gap measures to work around them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin makes it easy to manage multiple translations through collaboration and automation in one platform. It has made it easier for us to localize, reduced mistakes, and enhanced the workflow’s effectiveness. In particular, real time tracking and integration with other software have enhanced the management of deadlines and language uniformity. This allows our team to provide high quality translations in less time, while also improving the company’s operations and globalization.

It saves a lot of time and has a lot of features and configuration options

  • August 19, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It was pretty easy and intuitive to set up our project to start to use the translation services that are provided. We use Machine Translation for the first iteration of translation in our application, and setting up the workflow was easy, and it's is extremely convenient. We have another project on our team that uses a Google Spreadsheet to track translation strings, and with the integration of Machine Translation, the localization process for our project is simple, convenient, and easy.

The one time that I reached out to Crowdin support, they were very prompt to respond, and I knew that I was getting a response from a real person. The outcome was not what I had hoped it would be, but I felt satisfied that I got a definitive answer.

Overall, I think the tool is very effective, versatile, and easy-to-use.
What do you dislike about the product?
A couple downsides that we have found are specific to one of the integrations that we use, so this may not apply to all. We use the GitHub integration, and occassionally we will find that the Machine Translation did not happen for one or more languages. We catch this issue in our `l10_dev` branch PR, which is good.

When we find that the Machine Translation did not happen for one or more languages, we oftentimes need to pause and resume the GH integration; however, **only** the user who set up an integration can modify/edit that configuration. Thankfully, other users can pause and resume the "sync" of the integration, so we have been able to fix the un-translated translation strings by simply pausing and resuming.

This may or may not be seen as a downside, but I do not like how the two-factor authentication is forced upon you. We have a shared user that we can use to log in to our Crowdin project; however, the email for this user has been updated to use our department's billing email, which I do not have access to. This also happens to be the same user that created the GH integration, so if I want to modify that GH integration, I have to reach out to someone to verify my login attempt. This is not the most convenient experience, because other people's availability is not constant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The needs that we have are localizing a Web application and doing so with very little human intervention, and Crowdin has been fulfilling those needs for us

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Crowdin is its user-friendly interface coupled with robust features that streamline the localization process. The platform supports a wide range of file formats and integrates seamlessly with various development tools, making it incredibly efficient for managing multilingual content. Additionally, the real-time collaboration and strong community support enhance productivity and ensure high-quality translations.
What do you dislike about the product?
One aspect I dislike about Crowdin is that the pricing can be a bit steep for smaller businesses or projects with limited budgets. Additionally, the initial learning curve can be somewhat challenging for new users who are not familiar with localization platforms. While the interface is generally user-friendly, navigating through some advanced features can feel overwhelming without proper guidance or prior experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin solves localization challenges by centralizing and organizing translation workflows, which reduces errors and saves time. Its real-time collaboration tools and seamless integration with development tools speed up the time-to-market for global products. This results in increased efficiency and higher-quality localized content, benefiting our global reach and productivity.

  • August 16, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Having the translation memory all in one place is a huge help for repetitive translation tasks. I use it almost daily to manage translations and translators. It has also been integrated with some of our other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some minor UI could be improved on, but it's a small price to pay for the ease of managing various languages' translations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a stable localization tool to use for our different company needs. It makes managing translation tasks easy, with minimal checking required.
