Retool is a great tool to write your low-code/no-code app.
What do you like best about the product?
Retool has a lot of handy features that you can use instead of writing them from scratch. Saving us hours of work in a few drag-and-drop and low-code adjustments.
We use it every day, and it's super easy to use and implement compared to alternatives like Tableau. The integration was super fast, and we stopped paying for other third-party tools for our platform.

What do you dislike about the product?
I think their backlog has a lot of feature requests and they are slow on deploying them.
Their AI coder could be better.
Customer support could be more handy and fast.
Their built-in features could be much more customizable, it makes us use a lot of custom nodes, which are fine but very hard to handle.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Delivering easy to use platform to our customers
I've used Retool to build internal tools, and I appreciate its flexibility and integration.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to quickly connect to multiple data sources and build functional UIs without spending time on boilerplate code.
What do you dislike about the product?
One limitation is the absence of a backend data abstraction layer — managing record-level permissions, complex filters, and efficient paging requires more manual work than platforms with a true application server
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thanks to Retool, I can develop internal applications in hours instead of days, reducing time-to-delivery and improving responsiveness to internal requests
A great tool for developers who want to leverage abstraction and built-in front-end components
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the variety of components that come inside the app editor. I like the fact that they focus on technical people (i.e. developers) who speak the same language, yet they empower them with the right features they need to build internal tools faster and seamlessly. Most things are customizable and easily managed with coding! Although I like to use niche tools each focused on solving a specific problem, I have been enjoying how Retool combines various elements of a platform development process (e.g. built-in dashboard, file storage, automation workflows and email).
Their community forum and support are great, as a result of both contributing members and Retool experts! Moreover, their pricing plans are generous.

What do you dislike about the product?
It can get quite pricey if you want to deploy an app to the public that is focused on external users. It is best for building internal tools. Even if I built an internal app, I would have liked to have the ability to share a public URL instead of inviting my colleagues to sign up and join. At the same time, I find that sometimes the app editor is lagging and could respond faster. Last but not least, I tried adding their Mapbox component, but I didn't have the option to customize it fully. I will need to develop one myself in React and then add it to my Retool app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It targets developers who want to build internal tools, dashboards and admin panels inside low-code platforms. The develop enjoys having the drag-and-drop feature. Otherwise as a developer I would have to either custom code it myself from scratch or use npm packages trying to architect various components together myself.
Retool can truly be used in every way possible for software development!
What do you like best about the product?
Retool makes all front-end work very simple, which saves a lot of time that I can dedicate to developing background processes. With the help of Workflows and custom queries, it becomes much easier for a programming beginner like me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, it can be challenging to create fully customized processes, but the ability to write JavaScript and CSS everywhere makes this manageable. The Retool team constantly improves the platform based on user needs, adding great new features—like the recent Multi-Page App support, which has been highly appreciated!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retool helps me streamline and automate property management processes by providing an easy way to build custom applications without spending too much time on frontend development. It simplifies database interactions, API integrations, and background automation through Workflows. This allows me to focus more on backend logic and optimizing real estate data processing. The flexibility of JavaScript and SQL within Retool makes it easy to customize solutions while still benefiting from a low-code environment.
Just the best app for internal tools
What do you like best about the product?
I am a coder, but simply creating internal tools from scratch is too much work.
Retool UI is beautiful, state management is good, it has all the connectors I needed and composable to an extreme. It is the king of the category 'no-code tools for developers)

What do you dislike about the product?
I just miss a proper advanced management system so applications are super optimised.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internal users need custom dashboards to manage and solve our users queries. I deploy everyday changes and development is extremely rapid.
The ultimate versatile platform for in-house data based apps
What do you like best about the product?
As a software developer, I really like the immediate availability of all the building blocks of a full fledged app - database, file storage, interfaces, etc. Also the ease with which the interface components connect to the backend resources is such a breeze! Most or maybe even all the standard use cases for displaying data can be implemented in just a few minutes. I was able to set up all the data infrastructure and UI for a bike business, including tracking repairs, rentals, bike tours, and inventory in just a couple of days.
What do you dislike about the product?
The highly opinionated nature of the platform can be a limitation at times, but there is always a workaround.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was looking for a solution for a small business (bike shop) that included a number of interrelated and complex areas of activity - rentals, repairs, purchases, sales, and inventory. The only kind of existing software that could satisfactorily solve all those things would be enterprise packages that are very expensive and unwieldy for a small business.
the easy way of success
What do you like best about the product?
it's the most easy to use easy integration with easy of implementation tools and various resources
What do you dislike about the product?
i think the ai prompting to make a workflow need some work, and it would be great if there is a prompt to build an application from zero to at least 80% on ( creat a new app)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
cut time on building projects and it's so easy for non-technical like me
A powerful and simple tool for rapid application development
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Retool is how quickly it allows you to develop applications without needing extensive coding knowledge. It's super easy to use and connect with databases or APIs. Additionally, the interface is very intuitive, which makes the development process much more agile. Ideal for saving time and focusing on what really matters.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, not much. I've been developing an advanced CRM for a few weeks, and if I had to mention something, it would be that it doesn't have a system to rename components dynamically (or at least I haven't detected one). Changing the name of each object one by one can be a bit tedious when working with larger scenes. But other than that, everything's great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The reduction of time in the development and setup of the CRM, the quick assembly, and the possibility to test it quickly (Trial and error made easier)
Seamless Integration with Looker
What do you like best about the product?
The seamless integration with Looker was one of the best things. With this we were able to directly pull looker datasets regarding associates' productivity into retool and used that to create interactive dashboards and availability of customise tools for specific operational needs also played a great role in simplifying our work
What do you dislike about the product?
The retool platform is powerful but sometimes it showed us failure in loading the dashboards and some features, even though it was not happening regularly but still, it was a little bit irritating
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By integrating looker data we could centralise data for productivity KPIs, also manage line adherence on real-time basis, and manage quality KPIs by creating interactive dashboards for the same. For our Czech Republic-based client it was helping them in better visibility into key metrics, the current status of pending cases and their quick resolution
Fastest way to handle information and build tools
What do you like best about the product?
Super quick to pick up, even for new users.
Drag-and-drop interface is intuitive and responsive.
Endless possibilities for creating custom tools.
Wide variety of components available to build anything you need.
Excellent documentation and videos for guidance.
Solid error handling ensures stability when building applications.

What do you dislike about the product?
Takes some time to fully get used to, but resources help bridge the gap.
While non-technical users can easily interact with completed products, creating tools independently could be challenging.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retool helped us solve the challenge of building an internal tool to manage our customers, update our database, and view files and uploads efficiently. We needed a solution that could be launched in just a few days, and Retool made it incredibly easy to connect to our existing infrastructure and build the tools we required. Additionally, it provided a user-friendly interface that even non-technical team members could interact with, enabling our entire team to manage operations effectively without requiring extensive training or technical expertise.
