Empowers Rapid Tool Building with Ease

  • November 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how Retool facilitates exposing data to a diverse range of stakeholders through a self-service, app-like interface. This capability significantly enhances cross-functional collaboration, as it enables all parties, regardless of their technical expertise, to engage with data effectively. The platform’s ease of use makes it a wonderful tool that doesn't impose limits on creativity or functionality, which I find extremely valuable. The power Retool provides is evident as it empowers a single developer to achieve what typically might require the effort of two to three developers. Furthermore, its robust connectivity is impressive; I'm able to connect with virtually any datastore, making it versatile for various applications. It also efficiently sends information to trigger jobs or pipelines, allowing seamless integration with other processes. Overall, Retool stands out for me in terms of boosting productivity and operational efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see improved documentation and potentially examples similar to those available in complex frameworks like D3.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Retool to easily expose data to stakeholders via a self-service interface, allowing rapid creation of internal tools that enhance cross-functional collaboration and productivity. It empowers a single developer to achieve tasks that typically need a team.

Streamlines daily job management and data sorting but lacks learning resources for non-technical users

  • November 12, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Retool to create jobs and workflows, managing whatever assigned tasks are there to create jobs and upload data entries.

Whenever I begin my analytics work, I first create a job using Retool by uploading my Excel file so it gets processed, and then the output comes from another dashboard linked with Retool, acting as a filter that sorts our data for the web and our other software.

I also use Retool to download data from our company's data repository, from where I can compare my data to check its correctness or whether we need to feed that data into our reports for the desired results.

What is most valuable?

While I don't think there is a best feature in Retool, the way data appears in Retool is pretty good, allowing us to see, sort, download, or review required fields for our use case, and the customization options are beneficial, allowing us to tailor features to our needs.

Retool positively impacts our organization by saving costs compared to using other data repositories, and teams prefer Retool for daily tasks that perform customizations to showcase web pages or link their data backend, making it more efficient and cost-effective than other software available in the market.

What needs improvement?

The UI of Retool could be improved, as I am not fond of the current design, and there should be a platform for learning how to use Retool efficiently, especially since our software team customizes it for their needs, leaving the operational team with limited knowledge on how to customize it.

Since I haven't delved deeply into Retool beyond exporting data, I believe it could benefit from tutorials or learning platforms on how to integrate Retool into daily tasks, as more feedback might arise from that knowledge.

There should be better documentation or support for non-technical users, providing a platform to learn and implement Retool effectively.

I haven't reached out to customer support, so I can't comment on my experience with them.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

This is my first time using any solution, so I haven't used a different one before Retool.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I have no idea regarding pricing, setup costs, or licensing.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I haven't evaluated any other options before choosing Retool.

What other advice do I have?

I don't have specific answers regarding cost savings or increased efficiency.

For mesh regeneration, we have reduced time for our model; apart from that, I don't have much knowledge to share.

For managing your work or creating tasks, Retool is the best option you can explore, and you should definitely give it a try. My overall rating for this product is 7.

Flexible, highly performance and customisable tool

  • October 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Retool has allowed me to both spinup prototypes as well as extremely functional internal tooling that has given me fine control of the components that I am utilising for the application

It's a great combination of off the shelf components, as well as lots of opportunities to use JavaScript to add almost limitless functionality beyond what other low-code tools are able to allow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the online tutorials are slightly outdated, but the need to use them is extremely infrequent
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a tool that allowed me to access multiple databases, query that data, and send processed data to a number of webhooks to trigger a chrome extension that I have built.

It has been extremely quick to drag and drop the components that I needed to make it all work, and simple to create the queries that allow this to happen

Built-in features streamline data processing and integration

  • September 02, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

In Retool, I have designed graphs and data tools to implement rules-based functionality. Instead of implementing these features in our platform, we created them through Retool because we only provide access to statistics for the sales team. We don't give access to the whole system.

I have worked with Retool for three months based on requirements from other team members. We're using it within our internal system, but we want to restrict access to the main system. That's why we're conducting data analysis through Retool.

This implementation was a requirement from the client, and I worked on providing solutions accordingly.

What is most valuable?

Retool provides built-in features with all processing happening within the platform, which is a significant advantage.

The platform is easy to use without requiring the installation of different libraries. Various features are available through drag and drop and UI-based interactions.

The tool allows data retrieval through queries and displays information directly. It offers data tools that grab information based on specified queries and draws everything on screen. If a table is needed, it efficiently lists down the table data.

Data manipulation happens through queries. We simply specify the table and required query, and the results are displayed immediately.

Permissions are required for access. When we grant access from AWS, Retool can access the data. Without proper permissions, access is restricted.

We can provide view-only access in Retool while maintaining view, edit, and delete capabilities in the main system. This allows us to control access for sales personnel and external data viewing.

The platform provides an extensive range of graphs and visualization options.

What needs improvement?

The platform already provides many features, and additional features aren't necessary for medium-level usage. Only very high-level requirements might necessitate more features.

AI tools, features, and machine learning capabilities should be added as they would be helpful in the future.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have worked with Retool for three months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have never faced any downtime or maintenance issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have implemented very large datasets, and the system works very fast. It's scalable and doesn't experience any slowdown when handling increasing data volumes.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support team is available, but I haven't needed to contact them. I found sufficient help through YouTube and articles.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not evaluate other options.

How was the initial setup?

New users or beginners require video tutorials for guidance. Once familiar with the platform, everyone can use it very easily.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Retool can be used with many applications as it is language independent. Anyone can use it easily and create various visualizations regardless of their programming knowledge. This is the main reason I recommend it.

What other advice do I have?

In application development, we typically need to handle security and related aspects. With Retool, these features are built-in, eliminating the need for manual implementation.

The review rating for Retool is 9 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

What do you like best about the product?
The ease and speed in which you can deploy very impressive internal apps is something that I have never experienced before. It has honestly changed the way I look at internal tools and helped me wow all my bosses in every single job I've ever had. Has also boosted my creativity when it comes to finding creative solutions to any software/tool problem I or the company I'm working for faces :)
What do you dislike about the product?
There really isn't any significant downside, the only thing is that it might be a bit limited when it comes to base customization of things, however with the custom components and some cool workarounds you can basically do everything you'd ever want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped me automate and optimize processes with ease. I can find a solution to any process with retool.

Fastest Way to Build Internal Tools with Real-Time Data Access

  • August 03, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Retool significantly reduces the time required to build internal dashboards and admin panels. The drag-and-drop UI makes it easy to lay out components, while the ability to write custom JavaScript enables flexible logic. We were able to connect to our database and internal APIs within minutes. The built-in components (like tables, forms, and modals) are polished and production-ready, which saved us days of front-end work.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Retool is very capable, there are occasional layout limitations that may require minor workarounds. Pricing could also be a consideration for teams that are rapidly scaling. For more complex workflows, non-engineers might find the logic setup slightly challenging at first — though the documentation and community support help bridge that gap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retool streamlines internal tool development by letting us build data-driven UIs without writing full front-end code. It reduces engineering overhead and speeds up iteration by connecting directly to our databases and APIs.

Dream To Reality with Retool

  • July 10, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I was at beginner level in coding and still am. I used it for a week and had my app done within that time frame. Very easy to use. Simple. I have managed to make a mobile app that I can pilot and use.The Implentation of compoenets and widget tools was very easy to use. In editing, colouring, fraimng my pages for each its use. Watch the space because something life changing for us, the people.... is coming. I'm definetely going to recommend this to my friends and family. If you have an Idea, do not be afraid to put it to good use. My first ever app and honestly, Im proud of what I see. Thank you Retool!! You have a lifetime friend overhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
Had a few errors in the beginning as some tools were hard to use but after persistence I managed to get exactly what I wanted. Honestly, the only dislike is that I cant make it into an apk file and be able to share and use it as , not everyone i shared with for pilot use was keen on wanting to hace to download the app then open via a link after creating an account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some drag and drop applications and softwares I used previously were not this easy to use. I could share the project with friends and family too. I thought making an App would be a lot harder and require alot more of my time. I wish I had done this 5 years ago
