Keep SEC reporting files
Workiva is a tremendous product
What do you like best about the product?
In my role as a Director of Financial Reporting using the SEC reporting function, I use Workiva on a daily basis. I have found that the platform is very intuitive for a first time user like myself. The platorm features mirror that of standard Microsoft office products, so implementation of desired outcomes is easy. My customer service representatives have been EXTREMELY responsive, both from an XBRL side and a general customer service side.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found many downsides. As I am new to my role I have found that while the platform is intuitive, there are SO MANY things it can do and so many taskbars on the sides of the SEC platform when in a document that I don't always know what they do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is making my job far less manual and assisting in the ease of filing with the SEC. The linking features mean that I do less checking of all my documents and the blackline features let me know what has changed since the last version and makes management's review of my work much easier. Ultimately, it saves us hours and hours of time.
streamlines reporting and presentations
What do you like best about the product?
works best for us to upload the data straight to the site and it populates all our presentations, releases, Q/K and other communications. It helps with making sure all the data is accurate. It is also a huge time saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
Chart data isn't always easy to work with
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enhanced Data Accuracy and Control
Workiva has been the most incredible tool that has propelled our Financial Reporting team forward.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, frequency of use, number of features. All of these things and the ability to get incredible data quality linked across multiple reports has improved our Financial Reporting quality immensely.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the Excel functions are a little bit outdated - you cannot change the full font in the Excel workbook, you can't upload a Word document as an Exhibit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data inconsistency between internal and external reporting teams has been greatly improved.

It is very similar to excel functionality and the customer service is great

Every once in a while it will take a while to load and be slow

It helps with filings of all sorts and creates easy ways to link information.
Intuitive & Flexible solution
What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive to track changes and comments from multiple parties and maintain version integrity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Logout frequency is too quick and makes jumping back in difficult and clumsy. Also wish there was a way to split screen to more easily view multiple versions (i.e. prior quarter document and current quarter document)

Workiva is user friendly and efficient.

The ease of navigating between pages and ability to share across the team.

There are no features or functions I dislike about workiva.

We use Workiva frequently, and it can sometimes be slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva allows you to link throughout various documents to ensure consistency among documents, which is especially important for internal and external reporting. It also recently released an AI feature that generates responses quickly using the relevant guidance and can even be customized or geared for your company's specifics by uploading your own documents for reference.

the workbook and document function exactly like Microsoft Word and Excel. Good customer support

I don't like that I have to upgrade to Wdata

helps create the financials faster than not using a program.

Brings structure, gives overview. Use one set of data consistently. Control version.

nothing yet, maybe not being able to use it for any other types of reporting (non-financial, non-CSRD)
