My best friend during ACFR season!
What do you like best about the product?
One of the things I like the best, is the connectivity between large amounts of data and the ability to pull of that data into a report that refreshes as the data is updated!
I also like the simple and helpful knowledge base; if you don't know how to do something there are a lot of resources that make it easy to understand. If we've ever needed additional assistance however, Workiva has always been there to help!

What do you dislike about the product?
There are some limitations when trying to pull over multiple sources of data (like adding them together in a formula) from an outside workbook; but there are ways to overcome this too!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to bring all the data we need from a large amount of sources, massag the data as needed in multiple worksheets, review the worksheets and track progress, and integrate all the data into our annual financial report.

What do you like best about the product?
Having to only update controls in one place and having it update everywhere else is convenient, as is being able to click one button to send out request reminders.

What do you dislike about the product?
There needs to be more drag and drop features especially in the files folders experience.
Also, a format for requests where everything is in one report that can be rolled forward instead of creating multiple new requests each year would be better. I used to do my PBC list in less than a day just rolling forward a single excel sheet - now I have to go into 100 different windows to create requests. A format where we can create all requests for a specific audit in one window and it would link to the testing experiences automatically would be much better. The current setup has quadrupled the time it takes me to complete PBC requests.
The workspace can also be slow at times and kick me out and reconnect or take a long time to load.
Report filtering should work the same as excel, the way these reports filter I find useless and I always need to export and convert them to make them useful to myself. There should be a greater ability to create custom reports that will filter based on created rules and assigned to process owners so managers can see request list outstanding or a mass file of their controls.
Implementation was difficult, there should be more user guides created for us to hand out to the business.

What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is easy to use. It's pretty intuitive and the training offers simple overviews of the tool. We're implementing the ESG soution this year and the capability and scope for efficiency savings in the future is huge. As well as creating effective controls before our data gets published into the reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest challenge with Workiva stems from its key strenghts - it is vast. The capability of the tool is so huge that external consultants are needed to help scope the work and deliver the solutions.

Fabulous solution for common pain points!
What do you like best about the product?
The automation, ease of use, and number of features. Workiva makes the reporting process so much faster and easier than before for preparers. The ease of implementation is also notable, as it is typically not too painful of a process for partners to implement the solution for clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a number of things that are not ideal, particularly the lack of ability to have charts/graphs in spreadsheets, as this has caused some headaches on both the partner/implementation side and on the client side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is alleviating the manual processes involved with financial reporting, freeing up time for preparers to focus on more important items such as strategy and forecasting, rather than tedious processes of copying/pasting tables and charts into a document for reporting. Our clients have told us that after implementing Workiva, their financial reporting/close process has been reduced significantly (in certain instances by 17+ days in a financial half year) which is amazing to hear and serves as a great talking point when speaking with other potential clients. This benefits us as a partner, because it makes it easier to get clients on board with the solution when they know it will save them valuable man-hours and have their preparers be happier by spending less time on tedious tasks and more time on stimulating, productive tasks.

What do you like best about the product?
The product is easy to use and user friendly - very dynamic and adaptable, I have yet to receive a request that I could not incorporate for our corporate reporting. This product works very well with a diverse project team from different disciplines, and everyone enjoys working in it and reports that this makes reporting so much easier.
Collaboration and tracking progress has never been easier and our interface with the professional design team has also benefited. The linking of data is by far the best feature - rolling forward documents and updating with the latest data take mere minutes.
Wdesk was also extremely easy to implement and we use it for all of our corporate reporting. We have also added other solutions such as controls management and the ESG solution. This product is very easy to integrate with your existing systems and the customer support is excellent.

What do you like best about the product?
Its user-friendliness, scaleability, timely support function and collaboration capabilities. It has eliminated a lot of what otherwise would have been very manual and time-consuming work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because it is web/cloud-based, any disruption to the internet could result in delays in critical and time-sentitive projects that we perform primarily in Wdesk.

I do not like when I cannot see what exact changes were made between the different times unless you milestone the versions and do a track change manually (specually closer to filing)

What do you like best about the product?
For internal audit purposes, document management is super easy and navigating controls is very efficient. It's all very easy to learn, and makes testing controls very easy to do, add follow ups, and to ask questions.
It's easy for new team members to learn, and a quick 15-20 min oboarding is all they need to get acquainted with the basics.

What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how wdesk sync updates really mess up my workflow. I have to uninstall the previous version, then reinstall the new version. It takes a while and is frustrating, especially since I don't always know the update is why it's not opening.
Also - when I have follow ups on sample support and return the request, the tickmarks are either erased or the documents are duplicated when the return is accepted.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Document request management is easy to track. All requests are easily accessible with statuses and communication built in.
A solid solution when multiple people/teams are working on the same document.
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva allows us to draft our documents, leave comments, run redlines, add XBRL tagging, edgarize and file with EDGAR from one platform. We also use the permissions to limit user error by limiting access to certain sections of our documents and/or marking them complete. The Section 16 platform is very helpful in tracking equity holdings and makes insider filings very simple. Utilizing multiple workspaces has helped us to keep our various filings separate and organized (i.e., financial reporting, 8-Ks, and the proxy statement). Linking data in our document to the source data file has also made rolling documents and updating data a breeze. The support team at Workiva has always been awesome to work with, super responsive and very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting in Workiva can sometimes be a chore and not super intuitive, especially when it comes to tables. I have often wished the spreadsheets in Workiva had more/better formula and chart capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm not aware of any problem Workiva is solving.
