Checkpoint Harmony: Protecting Emails beyond the Providers

What do you like best about the product?
The 3-step easy API integration which can onboard the security to O365 in minutes and to implement. Threat extaction, sandboxing some advanced features helps to get/view the data to decide whether its safe or not without affecting/compromising the user.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to mention as of now, since it is very easy to use and several classification in detection provided to sort out or pin point the issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phishing & Spam mail attack are reduced near to zero with the accuracy of AI engines. Threat Extraction gives a clean copy of the data before scanning to reduce work impact. sandboxing to verify the links for malicious content.

How has it helped my organization?

The solution is easy to customize and the options available on the portal are easily accessible to all technicians. It provides a user-friendly environment where we can protect SAS applications as well as incoming emails.

What is most valuable?

When compared to other email security solutions in terms of functionality and product usage, Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is very straightforward and simple.

What needs improvement?

The main drawback I can see with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is that notifications which are blocked by Microsoft are not able to get notified to the users.

For how long have I used the solution?

We are using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for more than five years.

What other advice do I have?

When compared to other email security solutions in terms of functionality and product usage, Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is very straightforward and simple. These are the major points I can see from the product. On a scale of ten, I would rate this solution an eight.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like about Harmony email and collaboration is its use of AI and ML to proactively detect and block threats.The integration with checkpoints Threatcloud also strengths real-time threat intelligence, providing an added layer of security to our organization. In addition to that its inline API based deployment makes implementation quick and seamless without disrupting email workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me HEC lacks granular reporting and analytics. It offers basic reporting functionality, more detailed , customizable reports and advanced analytics would be great to get deep insights into email security. Also, I would love to see email continuity feature in HEC.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Harmony email and collaboration is solving several critical problems for our email security. It effectively blocks phishing attacks, malicious attachments, impersonation attemps using adcanced AI and ML models. This has significantly reduced the number of security breaches in our rmail communications.Addiitonaly we are greatly benefiting with its integration with ThreatCloud as it enhanced real time threat intellligence ensuring we are always protected against the latest threats.It provided peace of minds knowing our email communication is secure and upto date with latest threat intelligence.

What is our primary use case?

The main use case for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is to protect incoming and outgoing emails. We use Microsoft Office 365 as the platform, integrating it with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. Our client environment uses Outlook, and we wanted to set up email security directly after Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office performs the first layer of inspection, and then Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration inspects anything Office 365 missed. If an email contains anything malicious, it is not delivered to the end user, providing DLP capabilities for sensitive data as well.

What is most valuable?

The best feature is that it is completely AI-powered, enabling behavior analysis of email traffic. When integrating Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration with an email provider like Microsoft Office 365, the system learns the patterns of past communications. This AI behavior analysis helps identify legitimate emails and potential threats. Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration can also scan password-protected and zip folders, a limitation in other solutions. The DLP feature allows organizations to track, inspect, and prevent sensitive data leaks from outgoing emails. Additionally, the system is easy to deploy, often within one or two days. Features for administrators and users allow control over spam mails, and the sandboxing feature scans new attachments and links for zero-day attacks. These unique features make Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration stand out.

What needs improvement?

A noted limitation is that integration is currently limited to Microsoft Office 365 and Google G Suite. Additional support for other vendors would allow access to multiple clients. Updates based on AI and reduced administrative overhead by adding or bulk adding new users, along with graphical enhancements to the GUI, would also be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for more than one year. Initially, I attended Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration's OEM training session and later delivered the POC for one of the clients while testing all the use cases related to email security and completing several projects.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The deployment of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was straightforward. It is easy to deploy and integrate with the environment, typically taking one or two days to set up email security.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is limited, being only integrated with Microsoft Office 365 and G Suite at present.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Initially, the organization was using only the Microsoft 365 default email security, which is limited. We wanted a dedicated email security solution, and Check Point had features like DLP, sandboxing, and easy integrations that competitors lacked, leading us to choose it.

How was the initial setup?

The setup process is straightforward and easy to deploy within one or two days.

What was our ROI?

Implementing Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has helped to reduce false positive phishing mails and prevent threats from emails, saving the organization time and maintaining business continuity by preventing downtime and enabling employees to focus on their tasks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing is a bit expensive, but it is worth it considering the features that Check Point provides.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend learning the product thoroughly to maximize its use, such as analyzing links in a virtual environment before clicking them. These small measures make a big difference. Administrators should explore the product deeply to use all its features effectively. I rate Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration a 10 because of its unique features, high catch rate, and ease of deployment and integration.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing is how Harmony provides real-time threat prevention across email and collaboration apps without much performance impact. Its reporting and visibility into email threats are also really strong compared to other solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though the security features are excellent, the platform could benefit from more intuitive configuration options and enhanced reporting flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us catch phishing and malware attacks before they hit our users, keeps our email and collaboration tools secure, and saves us from spending tons of time cleaning up after incidents.

What do you like best about the product?
its effective notification feature for immediate threat response and also ease of management.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are something that I found diffcult to understand in the admin dashboard and diffculties in differentating genuine emails from the phishing ones.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gave us visibility and protection for our email. And above all it will notify or warn the user about phishing emails other than the adminstrator.

We are using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration to protect our organization from phishing attacks. For example, our CEO received phishing emails with a subject line 'Fund Relief,' and Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration helped block it.

What is most valuable?

The features I appreciate about Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration include notifications about email reputation and phishing protection. As the admin, I am notified immediately when phishing attacks occur, allowing me to block harmful emails quickly. This notification feature ensures that I have control over email activity and helps maintain data security.

What needs improvement?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration could improve by providing configuration recommendations and use case specific solutions.

For how long have I used the solution?

Our company has licensed Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for twenty users, and I have just started configuring it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I think Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration's scalability is excellent. It allows us to scale protection for more users as needed, potentially up to hundreds or thousands.

What is most valuable?

The sanitization feature of Check Point Harmony Email and Collaboration is valuable. The protection and scanning of emails are also appreciated, as they secure everything in the email spectrum.

What needs improvement?

The sanitization on the file needs improvement.

We utilize Check Point Harmony Email and Collaboration for email security.

What is most valuable?

Check Point Harmony Email and Collaboration offers online support and has tight integration with Microsoft. These are features we often use. Additionally, the deployment is feasible if you have completed some training and acquired hands-on experience. In general, it has good support.

What needs improvement?

There is a need for improvement in handling business email compromise. Additionally, technical support and the licensing model require enhancement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Check Point Harmony Email and Collaboration for almost eight years.

How are customer service and support?

Support issues exist with the Check Point company itself, not necessarily the product.

Earlier, we used Avanade, IronPort, and Proofpoint before moving to Check Point Harmony Email and Collaboration.

The initial setup is not easy. It is manageable with the proper training and hands-on experience. If the customer wants only the normal features, it usually takes one to two days; otherwise, five days.

I consider the pricing to be a bit expensive, similar to other solutions.

What is our primary use case?

We were using Google Email earlier and wanted to move from Google to Microsoft. Knowing the vulnerability issues with Microsoft, we wanted a strong email security management system on top of Microsoft 365.

How has it helped my organization?

We aimed to enhance the server security perimeter due to previous vulnerabilities with Microsoft, ensuring a strong email security management system.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is spam detection and phishing site prevention, which Microsoft couldn't catch, yet Check Point does. Additionally, the threat management database provides consistent updates.

What needs improvement?

Check Point should integrate with features available in Barracuda - like more advanced threat management.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been working with Check Point Harmony Email and Collaboration for more than five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is good. I haven’t experienced any outages or abrupt stops.
