Great extension of our service and team for training. Excellent experience for our team and users!
What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar is a very easy to learn interface, allowing training to be up and running in a short amount of time for our users. We have also enjoyed really great service from our customer service team, including monthly and quarterly reviews.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I can think of is to allow client-level changes to student records.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a very small client engagement team for a product that is brand-new to an industry that has longstanding alternatives that everyone understands and knows how to use. Integrating the Skilljar training platform has allowed us to increase our bandwidth for training and new user intros.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking to expand your team's bandwidth, you can't go wrong with Skilljar! It's easy to use, understand, and implement. Clients love having access to it anywhere and any time, and the ease of using the platform. It allows their team to take on the role of "train the trainer."
Skilljar is a great LMS for SaaS companies of all sizes!
What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar is a flexible Learning Management System that has allowed my team to grow our Customer Education resources over time. We started with simple text lessons and knowledge check quizzes, and now we're creating SCORM modules and building out persona-based catalog pages. Their webinars, ebooks, and other resources are top-notch!
What do you dislike about the product?
The domain theme defaults are simple, and you need to pull in a designer/edit CSS to create a good, branded site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We haven't had any major problems, and the few support bugs we've seen were resolved quickly and clearly communicated. We primarily use Skilljar to onboard new accounts to our software, and we are pleased with the ability to make quick edits to live courses as our Product changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Skilljar has many features we haven't gotten a chance to use yet, but I'm excited that they're available when we're ready--things like LinkedIn badge-ification of certificates and Stripe payment integration will be very valuable as our Customer Education offerings expand!
Both the Skilljar platform and the Skilljar team make learning management simple.
What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar has built an easy-to-use administrative dashboard that makes creating and managing learning curriculum simple. Additionally, the Skilljar team provides world-class support, from implementation through the lifetime of the partnership. As they continue to grow as a company, I suspect that the best is still yet to come.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customization can be cumbersome, as the Skilljar dashboard does not provide administrators with preset options for designing the look and feel of the training site. Training administrators should expect to put in the CSS work necessary to make the site what they want it to be—though Skilljar's Customer Success team is there to help by providing workarounds and guidance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Skilljar has helped us to more efficiently onboard and support our smaller-sized customers while also providing a one-stop shop for thought leadership and industry education content.
Great LMS
What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar is an easy to use, robust LMS that makes administering a learning portal or University a no-brainer. It works with multiple formats including SCORM, all kinds of video files, PDFs and others. It also offers a solution for registering and organizing all of your live training.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the UI elements can be difficult to navigate at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to direct support tickets to the university through the use of one to many on-demand courses.
Skilljar deployment for nation wide technical training
What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar's program is highly customizable and the team at skilljar is easy to work with. The have been able to custom design a learning curriculum and automate to synchronize information with in-house servers. Customers have an easy time accessing courses and completing required lessons/courses and quizzes. Connecting the Skilljar template with API's has been fairly easy too! Our contact at Skilljar (Ana Mays) has been very helpful and responsive. We have also been able to get Skilljar approved for use by Mitsubishi headquarters which is very difficult o do. The implications of this mean the security measures for the content are high enough that a corporation with thousands of employees and highly confidential information has approved Skilljar's protective means. A big accomplishment to say the least.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve in creating the courses and being able to publish them effectively. Much of this is user based however. Analytics are great - couldn't really determine a way to improve that portion, though custom reports could be an interesting idea similar to pivot tables. Downloading data is difficult - specifically exporting to excel (unless I just don't know how)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to synchronize manual processes using 3 different systems into a fully automated process. This saves roughly 2 days per week for one of our admin members and makes in-class scheduling a snap. Working through the 2-way communicating API now to finalize the data transfer for automation has been relatively easy, but mostly because the size of our company - I have an IT team to perform the required actions on our side.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider API implementation from the beginning rather than as a after thought. Also consider smaller, easy to digest lessons that are easy to understand and to the point. Developing appropriate material along with the skilljar template makes the end result a winner.
Director, Community & Learning
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to spin up, customize the front end, and give users a modern experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The concept of a certification quiz isn't distinguished from a regular quiz so reporting on certifications is a bit manual.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Customer education at scale. We've been able to train a number of users we otherwise wouldn't have been able to and be sure that they've completed what we believe is critical to success on our platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The tool is wonderful but you must be prepared to manage the content it holds - that's the real battle. Take an iterative approach and don't try to boil the ocean. Don't fret over content quality initially, you can invest in production value once you know what works and how long it will be relevant.
A Powerful E-Learning Tool with Room for Growth
What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar is easy to grasp the basics and get content published. It allows for customization in a lot of ways and lets you build out content quickly. It allows our team to be proactive in helping our customers learn new features and dive deeper into our product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see Skilljar increase their customization tools and work to make customization easier and more intuitive for non-programmers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Skilljar to help increase the capacity of our training and onboarding programs. Our Skilljar site allows our customers to dive deeper when they're ready without having to wait on a live trainer.

Gets everything I need done! Some limitations if you don't know HTML
What do you like best about the product?
My account manager is always helpful and spends the time to review with us. mostly easy to use platform
What do you dislike about the product?
some things aren't super intuitive to get courses live. In order to really make the most out of your domain, you need to know HTML, which I'm not familiar with
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
saves our team time with training and provides a quick resource for our clients.
Lightweight, Easy to Deploy, Scalable LMS designed for Quickly Growing Companies
What do you like best about the product?
When comparing LMS' there are no lack of options! What I found during the process is that most LMS' are from legacy providers that either cost a lot or take a whole lot of effort to get off the ground. SkillJar is a modern LMS designed for companies that are scaling their training programs quickly and don't have dozens of resources to get them off the ground. We were able to sign our contract and publish our first course in less than 30 days and have only grown it from there. I also love the easy customization SkillJar offers to make sure your LMS feels like your brand and not some sort of freeware. Also, the analytics keep getting better.
I also want to give a shoutout to the customer success organization at SkillJar for giving as much help as needed, and continuing to show how you are getting value / how you could get more value.
I also want to give a shoutout to the customer success organization at SkillJar for giving as much help as needed, and continuing to show how you are getting value / how you could get more value.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see SkillJar's product be enhanced more frequently, although that has been improving. One other sticking point for me is that sometimes our enterprise clients have trouble accessing the videos in the course because the player SkillJar uses sometimes needs to be whitelisted. This isn't a huge deal but has caught us unaware a couple of time. I would also like to see better messaging in the application to better engage with our users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before we embarked on our LMS journey, humanas were being sent around the country to do training sessions. With SkillJar we were able to significantly decrease the amount of live classroom training and instead encourage our clients to leverage CBT. This has allowed us to scale without hiring more trainers, ensure that all users are on boarded in the latest and greatest training and that we can track completion rate. As a bonus we have also been able to leverage SkillJar internally.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SkillJar is not the most robust LMS on the market. But it's one built recently and with the needs of today's quickly growing companies in mind.
