The one that allowed us to launch new customer education initatives
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to get started and start creating content. It's all pretty straightforward and allows us to have a lot of flexibility. We launched two programs, one a free academy and the other a certification that requires a purchase along with our products. We were able to go from signed contract to launch of the Academy in about 4 months and launch of the certification in 6 months.
Beyond the ease of use, I have enjoyed working with the various individuals at SKilljar. They have been helpful and responsive. I also appreciate that I can see the changes and developments the team has been making, some of which ties to ideas and features that I've requested (I'm sure those things were in the works anyway).
In addition to making a stable platform that has been easy to use, easy to train on, they provide a lot of helpful content. They have good examples, and if you can't find something, asking will usually result in someone from the team providing an example, code snippet, or something else to help move you forward.

What do you dislike about the product?
Like all platforms, there are things that could be better. A lot of my dislikes, and there really aren't many, come in the moment of a specific need and usually odd circumstances - for instance, cloning a set of courses to use on a different domain is a pretty rare thing, and while it wasn't hard, it was time-consuming without a bulk clone or publish option.
Overall, I really like what Skilljar has done, and like the progress they make in smoothing out some of the rough edges over the last couple years.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving two problems 1) providing access to materials in course form to people who are pre or post-purchase. We not only want to have them view videos but give them other resources. Skilljar has enabled us to do this and to help us understand the user behaviors. 2) with our certification program, we are using Skilljar to provide another platform to help instruct current users, to build their confidence, and increase their knowledge and use of the product. By putting this in a course format we can structure the materials beyond just a tutorial, and work through projects, provide resources files, and help them go from start to finish in learning the products.

Northpass
What do you like best about the product?
The ease with which I can create the different modules.
What do you dislike about the product?
Northpass is the first LMS I use as I am new to my role; however, I do not feel that I am missing anything major.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've solved the problem of organization and engagement. The newhires are much more engaged with training now and Northpass also serves as an excellent host for additional source material.

We are able to offer video courses to our customers that are both free and paid.
Accelerated Program Growth
What do you like best about the product?
That the platform is designed for Customers first. There are many in the market with software clearly designed as an HR tool. Skilljar is more versatile. W have used platforms in the past with the promise of being able to scale to a customer-facing solution, only to find that we are lacking many features that will make that possible. It is apparent that Skilljar was designed with customer education as the core of the platform, giving us a breadth of features to make our courses interesting.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is challenging to design and customize without web dev assistance. Without some coding, your domain is likely to look very poor or plain. You are required to design and customize; most of which require HTML If you do not have an in-house web dev professional, you will be forced to either hire an outside contractor (as we did), or utilize professional services from Skilljar themselves. There should be some tools to allow you to build a stylish domain using templates or premade themes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have enhanced and sped up our onboarding time leading to a faster time-to-value for our customers. We are using skilljar as a means to add 'self-service' into our customer onboarding process. We are allowing our team to proactively register customers. We have spef up time-to-value for our customers and reduce the effort needed to onboarding a customer successfully. We also have post onboarding activities that take place in Skilljar that continue customers learning past onboarding and into the lifecycle of their relationship with NuORDER.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a plan in place for how you want your domain to look. You will be responsible for the design aspect of your site. The same goes for content. Skilljar itself is not a replacement for a training department or training professionals. You will need to have a plan for implementation and content creation. I often advise that it is best to start with a training initiative that needs to be delivered. Weave your implementation of Skilljar into that plan.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use of the product and the customer service is exceptional.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few limitations such as email communication, some reporting, and the ease to customize certain areas visually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to support two types of users, partners, and customers by leveraging 2 of my domains. The only limitation here is that I would have to duplicate content if I have to use it in both which can be time-consuming.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I suggest looking at how other organizations have set up Skilljar as a reference point.

I love that not only is Northpass providing a service but they really act like a partner in trying to help you reach your goals, take your feedback seriously and then include you in the process to really make sure they understand what their clients want.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a true dislike just some gaps that they are already working on such as in product communications tools and prescriptive programming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the need to be able to provide just-in-time learning for our network members. We have been able to successfully integrate Porthpass within our proprietary technology making it feel not like an extension but an inherent part of our brand,

If you are looking for something to partner with to take your education to the next level, Northpass is a great company!
A great LMS solution for real estate, incorporating everything we need.
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility and customization, along with the service from the Northpass team in assisting with design, content creation, ideas, and integration with other proprietary and 3rd-party systems. The range of analytics is key in mapping success and adoption of tools and programs. The functionality within Northpass is impressive, and has given us use-cases and content ideas beyond where we were initially searching. We're now leveraging Northpass across our system, for employees and 1099 agents, and Northpass allows us to create and deliver content across our organization, and be able to analyze the results and adjust as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Northpass has enormous functionality, beyond other LMS systems that we'd investigated, and at times that can make it confusing. The good news is that the team helps immensely with any need, helping admins learn how to use the functionality. It's not a cookie-cutter LMS, and while that might make it seem more complicated, it is exactly what we wanted to ensure our brand carried through the platform, and that we have all of the functionality we need as we grow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving the ongoing challenge of adoption, and on-demand learning that is easy to find and engage with. We want to be able to target specific roles and individuals within our organization to drive learning for new employees and agents, and drive adoption of our programs and tools to create the bond between our proprietary tools and their business, and help our agents sell as much real estate as possible. We've seen increased engagement with our on-demand video learning far beyond our previous light LMS, and Northpass has allowed us to completely brand our academy.

I'm sure there's a solution, but based on what I've seen, we could use more UI customization to keep consistency with our brand
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've used it as a training tool that doubles as a nice friction point for recruiting
One of the most amazing platforms combined with world-class onboarding and support
What do you like best about the product?
The team. Honest, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure things were done right. I have not had an onboarding experience that was as seamless as this one in a long time.
What do you dislike about the product?
If anything can be improved, it already what they are working on, which is analytics. In our business, every detail about the customer's engagement on the platform needs to be measured and a KPI built around that. The Northpass team is hard at work growing that piece of that platform and we look forward to working with them far into the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are getting more people trained and boarded faster than we ever have before. The speed at which we can "turn up" locations increases when people are boarded faster.

Make the jump, you won't regret doing it.

What do you like best about the product?
Covid-19 made it difficult for everyone - it was nice when I received a call from the team. Able to ask all the questions without having to keep sending email.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes during 2020, due to Covid-19, response time from the team was very long using email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to upload our Contact Center's training - facilitating the process for our team members. The ease of completing the courses through bambooHR is great.
