Mulesoft Anypoint Platfor review

  • September 20, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Many connectors are present which are a simple drag and drop away. This comes very hand while developing a integration flow. Cloudhub feature, API manager, mule managent console etc are also very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tool is still evolving and many thus someties its unstable. I face issues while implementing complex functionalities batch processing, developing Munits for greater code coverage (also debugigging Munit). If the paylaod is very large, the studio hangs and need a restart.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting two diverse endpoints and data integration required between the communication. Also we are using features like encrypting data, properties etc.

Solution for most of your Data Integration needs

  • September 20, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Mulesoft is basically known for its ESB. What I like most is its support for most of our data integration needs starting from API design to maintenance and sharing. Its design center make API Design very easy. The exchange allows to share the API Design very easily, alow mocking services also. It has a wide variety of connectors to integrate most systems out of the box. Wide variety of runtime options including cloud and on-premise are available as per requirements. Mulesoft Support is pretty good too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Experienced some issues with the latest monthly runtime releases sometimes which they usually fix in coming releases. But these releases can be more thoroughly tested. However, we patch our runtimes quarterly now with more stable versions which is doing the job for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API Design and sharing through public portal. Implementation of various data integration needs with most types of integration patterns. Benefits are too many but in short it provides great capabilities to create futuristic and expandable solutions using API Led approach.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One of the best tool available with good pricing

What do you like best about the product?
Integration with legacy to non-legacy applications is very easy and transforming data between them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Choosing Integration Framework to use ESB is cumbersome process and price wise more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transforming data from mainframe to interfacing applications. Smooth incremental migration to SOA.

Instrumental for integrating services

What do you like best about the product?
Mule ESB is lightweight and fast. It's simple to conceive a flow using the Anypoint Studio IDE. It's also easy to deploy a SOAP or REST (RAML support on Anypoint platform is very useful) based service.

A lot of free connectors are available (Twitter, Google, GitHub, Dropbox and so on).
Provides a lot of out of the box modules to implement modern enterprise integration patterns like messaging, file transfer, database poll, web service proxy, validator, bridge, message routing and so on.

Mule ESB core engine relies heavily on Spring Framework, hence it works well with user-defined Spring components.
First class support of JMS is appreciated.
Overall community support is great. Mule ESB core is Open Source (https://github.com/mulesoft/mule).

Flows testability has improved, especially since the new MUnit module has been released. You can now test Mule ESB flows directly using XML.

Mule ESB is stable in production and is easy to monitor with JMX.

Anypoint platform is evolving and Mule ESB documentation is getting better.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features (DataWeave, Batch module, Management Console, Clustering) are only available with the Enterprise version.

Mule ESB lacks of documentation when it comes to create a custom connector.

No support (graphic representation of flows) when using other IDE (IntelliJ Idea).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating services together. Transforming data between services. Pulling data from different sources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you plan to use advanced features like clustering or advanced data transformations, consider buying a license for the enterprise version of Mule ESB.

Anypoint Platform: Powerful and easy way of Integrating applications

  • January 12, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. easy to learn basics: An Integration novice picks up the fundamentals quickly with the intuitive platform.
2. Ease of development: The eclipse based studio is well liked and the drag and drop functionality makes a developer's life very easy.
3. Vast repository of connectors: The exchange contains vast repository of connectors and examples for integration.
4. Good support community
What do you dislike about the product?
Few functionalities such as Batch processing, MEL expressions have a learning curve when implementing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use anypoint platform to connect with many systems, both on-premise and cloud based. ESB is used as the middleware between front end and downstream layer. Also used for batch file processing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do complete an initial training given by Mulesoft. Also, it would help to follow forums so as to be helpful for the platform betterment.

Great extension of Eclipse for application integration (specific to MuleSoft)

  • January 12, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Some may not appreciate the EIP UI representation used for XML file generation but it is extremely helpful when developing connections to different systems. The UI allows for a graphical representation or equivalent of an Maven Archetype providing assistance for the integration developer when attempting to create code in parallel with application design. Additionally, the ability to debug integration code uncovers previously opaque methods of data transformation and delivery. The debug feature puts this tool on top of the stack of other integration IDEs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the Anypoint development team in their haste to provide the best, cutting-edge products produce releases too quickly. A more rigorous QA process could improve the features being released. Also, allowing for features that are being replaced to be phased out without causing additional work by the consultant or customer development group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating stable middleware applications for enterprise software. Benefits have been the large improvement over legacy tools that are not keeping up on the technology front or the new tools that are not up to par.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at other products debugging features. They don't stack up to this product.

What do you like best about the product?
1. A lot of connectors ready to connect us with any other integration system
2. Easy to make flow based on drag and drop feature and little configuration
2. Easily transforming payload to other type.
3. And many more mulesoft anypoint platform capabilities that simplify our work.
What do you dislike about the product?
To deploy our project we must trigger manually, even using MMC. I am still not found how to scehdule our deploy, like integrated with CI Jenkins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my current project , there is a lot of requirement to integrated with another platform, such as eWay, CMS Sitefinity, Email, Twilio, CRM, Healthlink, Medicare, etc.
and our benefit is we can build all the connection just using Mulesoft anypoint platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
this software is great to build system that integration with a lot of integration system out there. and it can simplify our work because drug and drop system with little configuration feature.

MuleSoft Anypoint Platform Rivals Competitors

  • January 09, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Some vendors claim to have over 800 connectors. However, it may take many connectors to accomplish the same thing MuleSoft Anypoint Platform accomplishes in a single connector. The Anypoint platform is easy to use and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there is very little not to like about the Anypoint platform. Since I must come up with something for this survey, I suppose I would say that the Mule Expressoin Language (MEL) has a learning curve, but the excellent free training and documentation allows you to be productive quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company just started using MuleSoft and we're excited to get started! We have many point-to-point connections, caused by many years of development without thinking about the long-term architecture. In order to continue to grow the business, we must unwind the mess.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend taking the MuleSoft Developer Essentials training on Mule University. It's free and covers most of the functionality required to get started with integrations and API's quickly.
