Cloud to Cloud and Cloud to Ground Integration
What do you like best about the product?
Mulesoft provides a graphical design tool on top of an great Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) for doing cloud-to-cloud or cloud-to-ground integration. The service bus architecture is based on Staged Event Driven Architecture (SEDA) and supports active-active clustering for high availability. There are over 150 out-of-the-box connectors available to handle integrating with various systems, or if you need something highly custom, you can build that in Java, so it's a highly extensible platform. Doing an independent estimation exercise, my team found that Mule would be 300% more effective than a custom integration solution, which I later learned matches Mule's own estimates. The platform also includes a suite for API management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Design tools are in Eclipse and require a slight learning curve if you are new to the environment. Because portions of the product are open sourced, updates require careful regression testing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some of the problems I have used Mule for include Salesforce to SQL Server integration; data migration between legacy knowledge base and Salesforce knowledge; and designing FTP to SOAP integration solutions.

Mulesoft's Anypoint Platform - Review
What do you like best about the product?
The Anypoint studio is built on top of the Eclipse IDE but it has loads of features. The platform can be used for a a variety of integration project in real world scenario ranging from Complex implementation of PIPs (Process integration Packs) to exposing the existing system as APIs for API led connectivity. While comparing the product with the range of integration products available from giants I found mule an upper hand in the below scenarios-
- Dealing with RESTful APIs with JSON payloads
- Flexible deployment model (you can deploy the mule apps on prem as well as on cloud) adding to this you can also deploy your mule apps to other application servers like JBoss, Apache and Weblogic
- Rich Documentation and community support- all the components are well documented in easy language and in much needed depth.
- Overall cost of implementation, when compared to other vendors products is very good, which could increase the revenues.
- Focus is on detailed aspects of the middleware created( java backed) whereas other products are focused on overview aspects(not much customization possible)
- Easy and Quick Debugging.

What do you dislike about the product?
The support for the XSD, WSDL, XSLT auto GUI mapper is not par when compared to other products in line. The product is made focusing light weight RESTful services and it lacks some of the features of SOAP Services. Mule supports SOAP but implementing soap is a cumbersome task.
A feature of tracking the transactions flowing through mule in production can be improved. We have MMC for this purpose but this can be improved to show details like graphic path followed by the message, alert simulation re-trigger from Console etc.
Please note these are not the dislikes these are the features which can be added to make mule more awesome.

- Code gets cluttered with logs to trace a flow if message
- Any mapping change required development and redeployment
