MuleSoft Anypoint Platform is good for integrations, but can be tricky

  • February 19, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Really fast development of services, that integrates with other systems. It is even faster than create a service with Spring.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. It is difficult to integrate with services behind the firewall in the private VPC.
2. Anypoint Studio is in the raw state (unstable). After update of the studio takes a time to open the project.
3. It is difficult to perform troubleshooting on the CloudHub. The logs search doesn't work well, it can't do a search by strings. Sometimes, I have to download log files and run grep locally.
4. Connectors are the black box, for example, my team spent a few weeks to figure out what is going on with SQS connector.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're doing integration between enterprise services with external vendors.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Mulesoft is building integrations & exposing them as endpoint so for enterprise application integration I can pretty much use those integrations to be called from other business processes which may not live inside Mulesoft.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of documentation. It takes lot of effort to build something due to lack of documentation. For example I was building integration with Amazon services & there is very minimal documentation available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating with vendor solutions like Salesforce & Workday with internal applications
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's an exhaustive product & specially with their iPaas offering it has lot to offer.

Mulesoft Anypoint - Robust solution

  • February 19, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything my company needs to accomplish for middleware is available in the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. Integrations are easy to create, and the online platform is very robust.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maven compatibility doesn't work smoothly out of the box. After configuring, it's usually fine. Sometimes sharing code with team members requires modifying structures that aren't perpetuated in GIT.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reusable services have been developed and deployed for multiple scenarios. Projects can be ramped up quickly as long as some foresight is used when designing the services. Our eCommerce efforts have been greatly streamlined using the features available to us in Mulesoft.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need an in-house expert for effective usage, so don't skimp on training or opportunities to meet others using Mulesoft in the community.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been working as integration developer from past 10 years and i have been using FMW(SOA) and recently i started working with MULESOFT and its really awesome experience working with mule. The best features and easy understandable components and an extra-ordinary EXCHANGE. I really love it
What do you dislike about the product?
This is one of the best platform but little bit confusing for new learners, until and unless there are not familiar with any of other integration or J2EE. Nothing more than that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
using for very big business which is already running on different middle ware, most benefit is COST

Nice drag and drop RESTful web services platform with built in API management/security features

  • February 19, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how the web services, RAML, API management, and cloud functionalities are all seamlessly connected. It works together very nicely and doesn't feel disjointed or messy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is a bit steep, especially for people new to this type of programming model. Some of the documentation is also outdated or poorly written and not very helpful, especially when comparing v3.9 versus v4.x.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been building microservices for my customer using Mulesoft. We need to connect several legacy systems to Salesforce and want a scalable ESB for future applications to use as well. We have really liked how easy it is to monitor the performance and problems that arise while our applications are deployed and running.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Because Mulesoft is now owned by Salesforce, I would highly suggest that Salesforce customers using a non-Mulesoft ESB switch to it.
