The best that E used in the years

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
During our evaluation, the support was quite good because they were willing to spend literally hours on the phone trying to work through some of our issues. Unfortunately, they were unable to resolve them all.
What do you dislike about the product?
The authentication features are not close to API management ca (f. k. a laye R7).

The development experience is not as good as that of Apigee.

The graphical interface needs improvement. Perhaps the product team should look at other API management tools in their offering.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are one of the market leaders in the Gartner report. Since it uses DataPower as a gateway, an organization that uses DP as a gateway can easily integrate IBM API Connect into their ecosystem. From my research, the cheapest version of a Cloud subscription is more [expensive] than Apigee. I think the cheapest for Apigee is around ~ 300-400 USD/month.

Good support but many failures

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
During our evaluation, the support was quite good, as they were willing to spend literally hours on the phone trying to solve some of our problems. Unfortunately, they couldn't solve them all.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface was not as intuitive as many of its competitors in the iPaaS space, leading to a much larger learning curve and it constantly crashed when trying to develop integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cast Iron was one of the many iPaaS solutions we decided to evaluate to solve several integration problems we had in the business. This product was evaluated by myself and several of my colleagues, but I never introduced it into a production environment. The main reason we never went into production is the numerous problems we had just during the evaluation, as well as the non-intuitive interfaces.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend using the IBM connection application if you want to collect data from all sources or if you are working on such a project when you must handle more than one live stream in real time.

Great integration tool

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
GUI-based accelerated API development is great , has an integrated platform for running, creating and managing APIs, combines IBM DataPower being a security gateway with some of the features that are in IIB and IBM App Connect, to kind of build a complete integration. Also, IBM API Connect being the API gateway is extremely valuable both for internal and external consumers of APIs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The audit logging, transaction logging and other such similar features, such as the IBM App Connect cloud instance, and the GUI need to be improved with updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With his graphical developer interface, we can quickly develop solutions that are connecting to anything on the cloud, without having to build those connectors ourselves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In my experience the technical support has been good all around.

Exchange data through apis and microservices

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
IBM app connect is an application which lets you exchange the data between applications. It works as an integration between the two applications or more and transfers the data through various applications and in doing so you can process a single data through multiple applications and get the resultant data.If you are not using ibm app connect than you will have to transfer data from one service to another and get the result which is a totally manual task and so it would save your time if you use ibm app connect.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the cost is high because ibm app connect doesn't give many features as compared to its price.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have certain projects in our organization when we have to transfer data for processing from one application to another,we use to do it manually but that takes days to process the data and there is a possibility of human error instead we started using ibm app connect and it saved us a lot of time and we can use that time for actual improvement in the system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I actually recommend using ibm app connect if you really need time and the project is time crucial. Also you should have large amount of budget for that because it is costly. If all these terms meet than you can proceed to using ibm app connect. There are some cool things about app connect which makes it differ from others like the add ons which you can use with app connect is a novel idea,so it can also be a reason for using ibm app connect.

Excellent for connecting and managing business data or APIs

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I really like about the platform is that APIs can be exposed and integrated to the Internet securely. It is a complex process, however, the platform turns it into a smoother experience, which makes the use of IBM App Connect favorable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The implementation can sometimes be frustrating because it is like a third-party application embedded in our main application, and sometimes the backups will not work as expected.

Experience is needed, otherwise it is very difficult to set up and configure in production. The documentation is not sufficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefits that IBM App Connect has obtained are integrating business data securely for our clients. This is a great tool that has great functionality for sharing important and secure data with clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend starting with a POC. If the proof of concept serves the purpose, then make the decision and go for a large-scale implementation.

Very helpfull using IBM App Connect

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the things I like most about this software is that it provides an integrated platform to run, create and manage APIs, it can also develop integrations between systems that are made in other software and that would take much longer and be more difficult. achieve.

Its reliability and the large number of end points for connectivity are valuable features. I like the ease with which you can add custom applications with the IBM integration bus.

It's interesting how you can perform extremely complex integrations, but when configured like any other application, your experience to connect SaaS applications with other applications and your own local systems is just as simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Among the things that I do not like, is the difficulty to get immediate help, however, it is beneficial for us to have a support team with a very high knowledge, therefore, they should improve the response time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit I have obtained has been to integrate our product databases with Salesforce, the development of the proxy API is quite easy with the IBM Connect application, it has a graphical developer interface, we can quickly develop solutions that connect to anything in the cloud, without having to build those connectors ourselves, so it helps to optimize time and makes it very intuitive
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can do really powerful things with this system. The general design is an attempt to configure some of the routine tasks / common functionality, but allows the development / personalization of the core of the application.

Connect Applications - On-cloud or On-premises

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the best available service that helps to integrate various business application either it be on cloud or on premises. After this it even makes sure that the data is real time synchronized. Another feature that I would like to point is the API creation feature, where one can create simple APIs that helps to manage the flow of data, from the interface itself. They also provide a pretty good interface which has great UI/UX. Also all the dashboards are reachable from the interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have been using this service from a long time and have realized that it is comparatively better than other such services. It is also robust and so takes care of any unexpected errors. So I have no complaints regarding IBM App Connect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM App Connect provide various features that we use at EaseSolutions. One is the integrating applications feature which we use to connect different business applications we use in ourorganizations as well as those that we design for our clients. Another is the API creation which we use to create simple APIs that help us to manage the whole data flow within those integrated applications.

After using IBM App Connect we realized that we saved a lot of time that we previously wasted on maintainance and management of the centralized database that was shared between different applications. IBM App Connect made that part much easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a pretty good application that any organization can use who have many apps to manage. IBM App Connect makes things easy for you. Also it is easy to setup and much easier to use. One can even create simple APIs that can be used to simplfy the whole data syncing and real time update process

Best Solution For Connecting Applications

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
IBM app connect has many things which I think are best about it.The most important feature of ibm app connect is in its name itself, the capability of connecting different applications through their data and easily manage by automating things. You can also use ibm app connect to combine and connect the data from multiple sources and best thing is you can convert that connected data into a api which can be shared and used under constrained. So as you see its a great application.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have nothing to dislike about ibm app connect
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use ibm app connect mainly for connecting multiple applications. We have various projects in our company where we require the features of more than one application and where we have to take output of one application and supply it as input to another but manually doing that is not cool so we use ibm app connect to automate this integration stuff.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend using ibm app connect for connecting applications and automate the workflow using ibm app connect. You can also use it for connecting data sources and developing apis. You can also create microservices of the data flow and use it as per your requirement so it has many things which are so much useful so I recommend using it.

IBM App Connect Review: "IBM API Connect - Leaders in the API Management Space"

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most valuable feature for me is the availability of the adapters, which are already made out of the box. My customer then doesn't need to really spend a lot of time getting into production. You name it, SalesForce, or Ariba, whatever be the supporting products that we need to integrate to. It's just a matter of days to get it in production. That's the great part of it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The development and the transformation capability is not so great. I believe IBM is looking to incorporate some of the features of IBM App Connect into API Connect.
I think most critically our customers are asking for support. If I call within the next two hours, someone should be there at least on a call to support me. Support is the major thing. There have been a few instances when customers have come with complaints but all around, they're still happy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Because it has a graphical developer interface, we can quickly develop solutions that are connecting to anything on the cloud, without having to build those connectors ourselves.
Whether it be a CRM, ERP or whatever you want to integrate with, customers get the integration projects done at least 40% ahead of time. That's a great benefit for them and for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's been very good. There were issues only because of its scalability, since we have the Hypervisor Edition, that we've run into some of the sizings that have impacts on the performance.

Give this one a try, especially the new IBM App Connect because it fits so well with the new design and the way it fits in with the new APIs. You can build out new APIs with it. I would say to use it.

Friendly UI and Easy way for data management

  • August 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I m using IBM app service since last 4-5 months, M not so experienced with it but surely I can suggest that this is one of the best service provided by IBM. It can be used with ease to manage data from various other portals. We can automate our transfer of our data from one application to other application also we can transfer them in their supported format. It can also be used to for implementation of API's using ESB.
What do you dislike about the product?
As I m not using this service since years, I can't really speak about it but yeas the service is too expensive and it is what is dislike most about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM app connect for automatic transfer of data from various other applications. I also use it's power AI using Waston and salesforce much quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As per my knowledge I will recommend it for automated transfer of data from different application and creating their own documents on its own. Apart from this it can also be used for Ipaas and for ESB and to implement it is too easy.
