J'ai acheté un LTD sur Appsumo pour Illow (bannière de cookies et SAAS de politique) en septembre 2023. BigID a repris cette entreprise et a décidé de ne pas honorer les LTD qu'ils avaient avec de nombreux clients. Mon compte a été supprimé, je ne peux même pas me connecter sur la nouvelle plateforme. Très mauvais !

What is our primary use case?

Data discovery is the strongest use case for BigID.

What is most valuable?

Data classification is highly effective due to its automatic capabilities. One of the best features of BigID is its strength in data discovery and governance.

What needs improvement?

I want them to focus on data mapping, assessment, automation workflow, and privacy incident management. The privacy tools have not been widely used, and they have not invested much in privacy code privacy tools.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used the solution for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I find it really stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

BigID is scalable, so the size of the environment can be adjusted based on my organization's requirements.

How are customer service and support?

BigID has one of the best technical support teams.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

A lot of customers have moved to OneTrust since they have not given enough time to BigID.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is not complex; it is pretty straightforward. Once connected, it becomes easier to connect to other data sources.

What was our ROI?

BigID is really good in terms of getting out the ROIs. It is one of the best tools in the market.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is competitive in the market, however, I need to ask for the right price.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate BigID at eight out of ten. I would advise users to go with a small proof of concept, connect to their on-prem or cloud instances, and then scale over time.

Predefined classifiers in place support sensitive data scanning effectively

What is our primary use case?

BigID is part of our data governance project. We onboard data sources in our environment and scan for specific sensitive data sets, such as SSN numbers, passport numbers, and medical information, while working with a US client.

What is most valuable?

BigID provides a large number of predefined classifiers. For example, when scanning SSN numbers, there are around four to five different classifiers available. We can choose based on our use case, such as SSN near term, where the term 'SSN' or 'Social Security Number' ahead or behind the number can trigger a match. It offers multiple options like narrow and wide SSN. Since BigID is on Cloud, we do not need to manually upgrade anything; any feature upgrades from their side are automatically reflected.

What needs improvement?

BigID does not currently support Kerberos authentication for DataStax. On the user interface, analyzing true and false positives can be challenging, as I can only view 2,000 characters at a time. When tagging scan results, all objects get tagged without the option to untag specific ones. This requires reverting changes through MongoDB, which can result in data loss.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using BigID for less than one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There are no significant bugs. There are issues with incident tagging where all objects are tagged instead of a selected number of scan results. If modifications are incorrect, they can only be reverted through MongoDB, which may cause data loss.

How are customer service and support?

We have a professional service contract with BigID and meet with them weekly. Direct support from the people we work with is satisfactory, but interaction with the general support team can be delayed. Overall, I rate this support around six or seven.

How would you rate customer service and support?

How was the initial setup?

I was not present during deployment, and BigID manages Cloud deployment. Setting up the scanner for on-premises data sources like SQL or file shares requires configuring a Linux machine, which can occasionally encounter errors.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

BigID may be expensive, with various services and applications that require separate payments. Some features and applications such as Data Retention and Subject Rights Management also have additional costs.

What other advice do I have?

BigID offers many capabilities and features. Operating on Cloud, it scans data repositories without affecting end-user systems, making it more of an IT-side operation. I rate the overall solution as nine out of ten. The tagging and support process have room for improvement, and efficiency is necessary for support once the professional service contract ends.

Je veux alerter les clients potentiels sur les pratiques trompeuses d'Illow.io, en particulier concernant leur récente offre sur AppSumo. Initialement, Illow.io a annoncé une offre "à vie", attirant de nombreux acheteurs avec ce qui semblait être une offre fantastique. Cependant, une fois qu'ils ont amassé suffisamment d'acheteurs, ils ont brusquement changé les conditions, prétendant avoir été acquis par une autre entreprise.

Ce comportement illustre une escroquerie classique de publicité mensongère. Ils ont attiré les clients avec des promesses qu'ils n'avaient pas l'intention de tenir, pour ensuite modifier l'offre une fois qu'ils avaient sécurisé une base de clients. De telles actions ne sont pas seulement contraires à l'éthique, mais elles érodent également la confiance, surtout pour une entreprise qui gère des questions de sécurité sensibles.

Si vous envisagez de placer votre confiance et vos ressources dans Illow.io, je vous exhorte fortement à reconsidérer. Réfléchissez bien et évaluez si vous souhaitez vous associer à une entreprise qui privilégie les gains à court terme au détriment des relations clients à long terme. Protégez-vous et vos données en évitant de telles pratiques peu scrupuleuses.

Enhanced data discovery and classification with an easy setup

What is our primary use case?

I have used BigID to scan for data discovery, data protection, analyze where the data is found, data classification, and data mapping. I integrated BigID with Microsoft Purview to expand the scope of Purview, especially for scanning Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Drives in a multi-cloud environment.

How has it helped my organization?

BigID has allowed for expanded data discovery and classification, particularly in multi-cloud environments. This integration helped automate the business processes when used in combination with Microsoft Purview.

What is most valuable?

BigID is more advanced than Microsoft Purview when it comes to machine learning and AI development tools. It is capable of scanning documents in Google Drive, Microsoft Azure, and other platforms. It has better visibility of data mapping, including data lineage and the lifecycle of the data, due to its ability to scan more data sources than Purview.

What needs improvement?

BigID needs improvement in terms of automation. Its automation capabilities are limited compared to Purview. While BigID can generate outcomes, it is not adept at automating business processes, which is why we often need to export APIs into Purview and use Microsoft's Power Automate tools.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used BigID in the last 18 months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

BigID has had a positive impact on my approach to data security and risk management. Overall, it is very stable, and I would rate it an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have used BigID in a very large global setting with approximately 18,000 employees. While I haven't tested it in smaller environments, I would rate its scalability as a six out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support from BigID is very good; I would rate it a ten out of ten.

The setup of BigID is very easy. It is a cloud-based solution and is very intuitive. You can integrate and install it easily, and it is not resource-consuming.

What is our primary use case?

BigId is a Data Security Posture Management and Data Loss Prevention solution that scans data systems across the enterprise for passwords, secrets, and PII information. 

It offers significant benefits in data discovery, privacy, and security. 

We primarily use it to scan structured and unstructured data across our cloud systems, which consist of 100K+ storage buckets. It is a comprehensive data intelligence platform that helps organizations discover, classify, and manage their data effectively while ensuring data privacy, compliance, and governance.

How has it helped my organization?

It helped our organization to find and protect where sensitive data and data discovery, privacy, security, and governance, making it a valuable tool for businesses dealing with large volumes of sensitive information across different data systems.

Before using BigID, maintaining an accurate inventory of data stored in our AWS S3 buckets was challenging due to the data's sheer volume and distributed nature. 

BigID’s advanced scanning capabilities have provided a comprehensive view of all our data assets across S3 buckets, identifying structured and unstructured data. This has given us a clear understanding of our data landscape, enabling better management and utilization of data.

What is most valuable?

BigID is excellent at discovering and classifying both structured and unstructured data across an organization. This is crucial for identifying sensitive data and ensuring compliance with various regulations. 

It provides a unified view across different databases and supports a wide range of data source types, including cloud and on-premises systems. It offers compliance with various regulations and has a unified view across different databases.

It will support a large amount of data source types which include cloud and on-prem systems.

What needs improvement?

The solution needs to improve:

Scan Reliability. Enhancing the functionality and speed of the remote scanner setup is imperative

User Interface Navigation: The dashboards and findings landscape require significant improvement. 

API Flexibility: It is crucial to make enhancements in data export operations.

Navigation and Usability: Some users find catalog navigation challenging due to the lack of a search-by-column feature, making locating specific data difficult.

Export Functionality: The export feature tends to be buggy, particularly when dealing with large data sets, leading to delays and necessitating manual intervention

FalsePositives: The process has to find a new way to validate the regex match pattern by validating with some external source

J'aime la rapidité et la facilité avec lesquelles on peut configurer la conformité des cookies pour nos clients.

Ils adorent que cela corresponde à l'image de marque de leur site web et que cela ait un aspect si professionnel (ce qui nous donne une bonne image !).

La seule chose que je n'aime pas, c'est de devoir passer en revue et désélectionner tous les partenaires publicitaires manuellement.

Ce serait mieux si nous pouvions avoir un modèle pour cela que nous pourrions enregistrer et réutiliser.

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for database scanning and data protection. 

What is most valuable?

The tool's most valuable feature is correlation. Using BigID's data classification capabilities has strengthened our data security. It lets me classify and connect data, which helps me manage data at various classification levels. 

What needs improvement?

The challenge we encountered was with data connection across multiple databases. We struggled with configuring the data connection successfully. However, with the assistance of dynamic teams, we resolved this issue. 

The tool needs to improve its support as well. 

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the product's stability as five out of ten. Since the product is new in the market, it's still in the process of maturing.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the tool's scalability a six out of ten.

We connect with the support team, especially when customers require in-depth support. We often communicate with the help desk team.
