RedPanda drives our event driven architecture.

  • March 21, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
RedPanda is a single binary which makes it much simpler to operate than other Kafka distributions. This allows us to develop and test faster and deploy more frequently.

Their managed clusters have been rock solid, and their support is really helpful.

Switching to RedPanda was very easy for us, as we were already using Kafka. There were zero code changes necessary.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were a few operational difficulties at the beginning our managed cluster journey. We were on their first versions of managed clusters. The next version came out shortly after we started, which meant we were already faced with a migration.

This was a one time event, and we were early-ish adopters, so I don't anticipate any further disruptions of this sort.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
RedPanda is our platform event streaming. We use it to stream events between microservices. We also use it as a source for our data analysts get access to our application data and glean meaningful insights.

Seamless Integration and Exceptional Support

  • March 20, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We've been leveraging Redpanda's BYOC cluster for around two years. It has become a core component of our system, particularly for service-to-service communication, and it shines for its user-friendliness and seamless integration. What really enhances our experience is the exceptional customer support and account management—always outstanding in their service. Their quick and considerate responses have been pivotal during our implementation, helping us overcome obstacles efficiently and ensuring our development and operations proceed without a hitch
What do you dislike about the product?
While Redpanda has been a great asset to our system, I believe there's room for improvement in the area of connectors. Specifically, it would be highly beneficial to have a broader range of built-in connectors available. Additionally, simplifying the process for integrating custom connectors would be a welcome change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our system is built around an Event-Driven architecture, with Redpanda serving as the backbone for all our service-to-service communications

What do you like best about the product?
High Performance: Redpanda is known for its exceptional speed and low latency, making it ideal for real-time data processing applications. In our case, our tail got significantly better compared with the competition.

Ease of Use: Redpanda is simpler to set up and manage than other stream processing solutions. Redpanda Console is a Bonus.

Cloud-Native: Being cloud-native, Redpanda offers scalability and flexibility, allowing for easy deployment in various cloud environments
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, We haven't come across any major drawbacks with Redpanda so far. It's been very efficient for our event streaming needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Redpanda tackles the challenge of handling real-time data streams efficiently.

In Short;

* Improved Efficiency: Redpanda's speed allows us to process data flows without delays, helping us to maintain an optimal E2E Lag.

* Simplified Operations: Compared to the competition, Redpanda is easier to set up and manage, saving us time and resources.

* Resource Optimization: Redpanda's efficient design minimizes hardware and software requirements. This translates to lower operational costs and a smaller environmental footprint.

Great Product, Great Service

  • March 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We chose redpanda as a self hosted Kafka compatible solution for internal app messaging, as a replacement for AWS SQS. What we liked was the ease of implementation within our kubernetes cluster. Not having to use zookeeper or any of the other hassles with a kafka install is great for us. Since it has full parity with kafka features, our developers are able to use off the shelf integrations to connect, which is extremely helpful. Customer Support was great during our initial implementation, and they were fully available to answer our questions and help us through our stumbles quickly.

We've expanded usage of redpanda across our entire engineering organization, it's been easy for us to expand into, and is fast enough that we never have to worry about throughput.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've updated redpanda a few times since we've used it, and it's sometimes a struggle to make sure that we're deploying the helm charts correctly -- they tend to change quite a bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for several purposes around IoT processing. RedPanda handles messaging between our subsystems well.

Convenient and powerful tool for streaming data

  • March 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We are replacing Kafka throughout all our systems with Redpanda and have been pleased with the performance and ease of use. The permanent backup to S3 to allow full replay of topics is a game changer of us. Additionally, support has been very responsive when we have had questions or issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some behavior was a little counterintuitive to us at first but now that we are more familiar with Redpanda we haven't had any significant issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data streaming at scale with no TTL on storing the data for replay

Simple and cost-efficient Kafka alternative

  • March 16, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to use. Redpanda has replaced Kafka in our integration testing and we've been using it in production for more than a year.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Tiered Storage support could still somewhat unstable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Redpanda is used as a backbone of our infrastructure. It's the source of truth that powers all user-facing datasets. We leverage ClickHouse and Apache Flink together with Redpanda to provide critical real-time data pipelines to our users.

It has support for Tiered Storage, which allows us to use it as a source of truth. It's very cost-efficient. The compatibility with the Kafka protocol is great, we've never had any issues with that.
