Comprehemsive experience
What do you like best about the product?
I covers the whoe range of user experiences reauired. From web to mobile to desktop and how they wrk together
What do you dislike about the product?
Named user model is restrictive. Mobile users require L2 accounts, even though they ONLY use a couple of mobile apps (Surevy 123, Workforce).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Field operations, Policy analysis, Situational awareness for operations. Complinace awareness, etc etc etc

Go for it

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can manipulate data and make my maps look pretty good. There are so many resources to learn better techniques.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not very intuitive and not very easy to use sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to maintain the data so that the engineers can do their job.
Esri ArcGIS is the best platform for GIS mapping and spatial analysis
What do you like best about the product?
ArcGIS Pro is very fast and able to process data and edits at a much quicker speed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need more tools related to parcel mapping available in ArcGIS Pro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Land information and maintaining accurate records.
Great tool for cartography
What do you like best about the product?
Cartographic tools are exceptional. They provide you the ability to reach a fine level of detail when creating a map as well as controlling the presentation of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of support for non-esri based data. There are open data standards that exist both in the United states and internationally, that make it easy to bring in and share data. Esri doesn't support these in many cases, which is exceeding frustrating. If you are going to work with esri for the long-term, the likelihood is that you will get locked into their ecosystem and it will be difficult to move your data out if you wished.
Another major issue is the lack of use of basic database functionality when handling data. Much of the processing that ArcGIS does is in their software layer sitting above the database. This layer replicates functionality that is inherently possible to do inside of the database, and many times, the database is actually more efficient at performing these tasks. By putting the functionality in the software layer, it makes it less efficient, and also creates inconsistencies with data that make it hard to move or share if necessary.

Sewer and stormwater tracking, community development and planning problems. Ease of visualization of complex planning project parameters.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Determine the business needs of your organization and create a plan for software that meets those needs. This may mean you need solutions outside of Esri, but don't be afraid of doing this as there are many solutions to these problems that may be more cost effective than a pure esri implementation.
ArcGIS Online - Operations Dashboard
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, users can build an ops dashboard without having to know coding or dev work. Users now have the ability to build a dashboard and customize it to meet their needs. The customization of the data flow is simple and making the dashboard look and feel the way our company needs it to. The Ops dashboard has given us a real-time view of data flow combined with the geoevent server and filtering data streams we can view our regions of the world and monitor drought, weather, crime, and other natural resources and their current state. The online training and documentation is great, keep up the good work when it comes to producing quality recent videos and documentation in the ESRI online learning portal.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ops dashboard dosnt allow for internal alerting to text or email. I have to set that up on the geo event server which is not as simple as using the ops dashboard. I wish there were other colors instead of dark and light, we may need an ops dashboard to have a dark blue background or a tan background for work in Egypt. Setting up the dashboard can be a bit of a learning curve for those who are not use to ESRI products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have solved the issue of tracking all of our intrests in one location, we can see whats happening where and when with the ops dashboard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go to a demo, try the online free ArcGIS cloud, meet with an ESRI rep and see whats possible.
Applicable to my job
What do you like best about the product?
I use ArcGIS to import and export to Trimble and Microstation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to manage the projection versus geographic coordinate system. I manage multiple coordinate systems on the same map project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use mapping to find target point to navigate too. We upload shapefiles through Pathfinder/Trimble.
Grat product
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, the compatibility to other software. It is user friendly and easily taught.
What do you dislike about the product?
Understanding what al data I should pull together for answers can sometimess be confusing!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Land management, inventory status and condition reporting, sensitive area tracking.
ArcGIS useful
What do you like best about the product?
The GUI is user friendly and I like that there is more than one way to do something.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it can be a bit of a diva by needing so much processor power.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use ours for local government use such as 911, elecitons, parks, EOC, etc.
ESRI for County Government
What do you like best about the product?
With the product I don't see a better source for implementation of all the products and processes that we use. The customer service and community surrounding the product allows the world to be mapped.
What do you dislike about the product?
more personalized custmer service would be nice. I rep for an entier state seems slim.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Government and land record management
ARC GIS in Tribal Resource Management
What do you like best about the product?
ARCGIS has made it possible for Tribes to mage lands and resources using the most current tools at an affordable level. These tools have given us the ability to classify lands, vegetation cover, manage pre and post wildfires, restoration analytics, and parcel management. We use ARCGIS daily in management and policy decisions and are training employeess to better use the suite. ARC Pro is improving our speed and efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
ARC Map has some speed issues and also can have a lot of crashes depending on the task at hand. We had to seriously upgrade our hardware just to use it for some of our technicians.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are performing land classification, habitat suitability, defining roads, improving wildfire tasks, and managing land parcels.

have good hardware.
