Good Search Capabilities, file structure and sharing
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is user friendly, easy to set up, and has a good search that is easy to understand and use. Their sharing is also great for internal and external file sharing
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited integration with Adobe suite which makes it difficult with easy design integration
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a file versioning issue before that is no longer present with using Canto. We were limited with how we shared files before with external vendors which often made it difficult to share large files. Searching was also a previous issue with files being difficult to find. Through the use of portals, we can create specialized areas for different teams where only files that are applicable to them live.
Canto Is a strong solution for anyone looking for a DAM
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has been easy to use and easy to get up and running. The simplicity of having all of our images in one place have been astronomical. The amount of time spent wasted looking for marketing images has been eliminated completely. That was our main purpose for selecting a DAM platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only bad thing I can say was our onboarding tech wasn't really the greatest. She just wasn't very with it on the training. She would retell us things that we just spoke about so it was wasting a bit of time during user training. She was good at follow up, but the training was meh. I would say have people other than the onboarding specialist reach out to make sure everything is going well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think the amount of uses that we have found beyond our standard need case of storing and easily searching our large photos has been numerous. Easily sharing documents and links have been invaluable. Our training department is now using it to provide ongoing training to our teams, we have several portals for different use cases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a look at all the options out there and really focus on what is most important for your use case. Then create a comparison guide and see for yourself. I did that and evaluated 6 different companies to narrow it down to two. It was easy as some fell off naturally. Canto offers a lot of benefits for the price, so I highly recommend you start there.
Canto is a huge time saver!
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has saved us countless hours of wasted time searching across departments, servers, and computers for assets that are needed daily. The use of customized portfolios has helped us allow our end users to peruse and search galleries customized to their needs, all while protecting assets that are internal-use only from being seen.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canto is great, but would love to see a feature to copy metadata/tagging to other new items inside of an album...but that isn't a dealbreaker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Huge time saver when searching assets... it's all in one place and searchable by tagging/etc.
Easy to navigate, lots of customization

1. Folders can be made private
2. Email or link images for people who request them
3. Easy to navigate UI

3. Easy to navigate UI
What do you dislike about the product?
Slow loading thumbnails when viewing folders
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. It is easier to share images now
2. It is easier to keep track of photos to know when I need to schedule more and of what kind of photos to request from the photographer.
3. Private folders allow me to put up images that only certain departments have the rights to use

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to ask about customization if you don't see a feature or function that you're looking for. This is the best photo organizing site I've ever used. The sharing feature is really good if you get a lot of requests for images like I do.
Great product for asset organization
What do you like best about the product?
The folder separation for different assets and the ability to control who has access to which. I also like that the assets are shown in high quality and there is a very quick download time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There could be an easier way to add keywords and ways to find old assets. There could also be a larger number of individuals allowed to see hidden folders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sorting through a large number of assets and creatives to be used in different marketing efforts. It also is a great tool for sharing resources across different teams and different users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are working with a large number of assets, this tool will help streamline work for the entire team
Excellent Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and keeps my team organized. Uploading and downloading is super easy!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were a few more options for how things are searched. I find myself having trouble using the search tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everything is in one place. before Canto we would have multiple folders and colleagues were using outdated marketing pieces. Now we know we are using the most up to date collateral.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it's fast and easy to use. Our team isn't the savviest but they learned this platform quickly.
Great hub for team sharing!
What do you like best about the product?
Love being able to access images and documents in one location. Canto houses all of our company's product imagery and videos for easy sharing and organization for our remote team.
What do you dislike about the product?
We do wish it was a little better at organization for our company in particular.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all of our photos, videos, and documents in one place to share with our remote team.
Canto: Great DAM Platform and reasonable price
What do you like best about the product?
A key component to our switch was the facial recogintion tech Canto has - just upload and tag one photo of an individual and it tags the person in every photo they are in. This has been invaluable considering we have photos that date back 20+ years that did not previously have any metadata associated with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, it's a small thing but it annoys me to no end. You cannot right click in Canto. You have to Ctrl C/Ctrl V to copy and paste information. This is such a simple thing they could add.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Canto our organization is now able to both house and organize our assets but also share with other departments that were weren't able to collaborate with before. It makes it very easy for third party vendors to upload photo assets and input the correct metadata that I can then approve into the library.
Yes We Can(to)
What do you like best about the product?
We use Canto to keep track of all of our projects across departments and topics. It is mostly used within the Marketing departments, and it helps us keep organized, especially if edits are made! It's great that we can update the files within a folder and the link will remain the same for those who have it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is pretty basic and I wish it was a little more modern with clear buttons. Essentially, more user friendly. But once you learn it, it is easy to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to easily share large files during the editing process, as well as when we need to send things over to different departments or people. It is so nice to now that the link you have will be the most up to date (since you can see edit history) and that everything is all in one place for the company.
Gamechanger For Asset sharing
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to build out different portals for our different customers/markets has been a game changer for how we share assets.
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints thus far. I have been using Canto for about a 6 months now and I am really pleased. The learning curve is a little bit steep but that is really only because of how customizable and robust a tool it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
being able to share selections of assets to match our different customer needs, and tracking what assets they are actually using has changed the way we operate.
