Easy storage + sharing with Canto
What do you like best about the product?
Canto makes it easy to store and organize all of our photos. It also makes it really easy to share photos with people in and outside of our organization. The tagging + search functions are also nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to find items in the Settings if you don't know where to look.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to share links to specific photos and collections with people outside of our organization easily using Canto. It also helps us stay organized.
Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Canto is how you search for images. Canto has a tagging that (if used correctly) allows users to find photos using vague details.
What do you dislike about the product?
No cons come to mind at this point. The only thing that makes Canto less effective is when firms don't take the time to upload and tag photos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When working on a proposal, an underwater inspection proposal for example, one can simply type in the search box: '" underwater" and pull up all relevant photos, including stock images.
We love Canto!

The customer service team is incredible and so very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The uploading of assets to the software can take some time, but that also depends on how many custom fields you have to enter.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto has made searching for assets much easier for all departments in our company.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It lets us access our large library of event photos while working remotely. This allows our team to work hybrid or remote without relying on a local server for asset storage.
Great for Agencies!
What do you like best about the product?
The organization and functional search tool - it gives us one true source for all of our creative assets both internally and with clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little difficult to wrap your head around at first to set it up, but you get the hang of it quickly once you dig in!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asset management - prior to Canto, it was massive and messy and a big time suck, but this solves that! The versioning tool as well as the robust search functionality is what makes the biggest difference for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't overthink the onboarding process. Get in there and start trying things out, worst case you just delete it and keep going!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Canto to house our image library and files. We will also use it to give people in different department easy access to our brand standards and logos. Outside vendors will be able to search for anything they might need directly from Canto too. As a designer Canto helps me to quickly find appropriate files for any project I am working on.

It also works well if your organization manages multiple brands, you can easily filter through exactly what you need for each brand. The price compared to most of the competition was a big part of why we moved forward with Canto.

Increase Productivity
What do you like best about the product?
The tagging, search, and sharing links are the best features of Canto. I also think that the layout is very visually appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Different places to do the same function often confuse some of our users. Personally, I do not mind this, but it creates problems when explaining directions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows for us to have a better solution than a traditional server to house our assets
Easy to use for our team and company!
What do you like best about the product?
We love that we can control who sees what assets. We are able to control the download file type. We are also able to easily share assets with other people outside our company.

The only con is that to share an image it takes about three clicks to get the URL copied to your dashboard which can be time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We love Canto. We just launched it to our whole company and everyone is very pleased with the tool because they are able to get their own photos without having to come through marketing.
Budget Friendly DAM Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Having a single library has helped better organize our content and allow us to direct the business to one simple and easy location to find content.
The system is very customizable, and I like that there's lots of choice as to how to set up user permissions and sharable links.
The upload feature is super useful and eliminates the need to have multiple platforms to share content.
For the price, the package Canto offers is great.

What do you dislike about the product?
Implementation could have been improved, and there's a lot of work required to set up the DAM on your own without as much assistance/guidance as I would have liked. Smart tags don't really add any value either.
The platform can be a bit slow at times when uploading content, updating asset information, or even browsing photos, but this is not a huge problem compared to the features and price.
Setting up and maintaining SSO was not as ideal, so we did not end implementing it.

Canto lets us organize all assets in one central location, and eliminates the need to purchase additional platforms to work with external vendors. Everything is in one easy location, which saves us time when looking for content.

The tagging feature is helpful since it allows users to search and access photos and videos quickly.

The SSO option was hard to set up and didn't end up working for us.

Canto allows us to quickly search for photos with common keywords or tags that are relevant to the content rather than having to scroll through folders or albums.
