Drop Dropbox and pick up Canto
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has saved us so much time with uploading content and organizing it with metadata. Facial recognition, tags, albums, portals all if it has made us waste less time and be more efficient as a team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app isn't as user-friendly as the web version. Wish it was a more mirrored experience on the app so that it is easier to navigate when looking for assets or when uploading.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are saving time with uploading spead, the metadata makes it to where we can find an asset almost instantly without having to sift through a ton of folders to find just one picture. It really has just made us more effecient.
Canto has been a great tool for us!
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is really easy to organize all pictures - it's easy to organize, sort, find and share them across the organization. It's intuitive to use and serves us well! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quality picture storage option.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have so many pictures, that we've moved some into frozen. Sometimes it takes a while to get a photo out of that category. But that's really it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have A LOT of photos - our organization has been around for 30 years. Canto is a great tool to organize all those photos.
Excellent Product
What do you like best about the product?
We use Canto as a central system for all our property photos and logos. We also use it for brand logos, stock photos, lifestyle photos and videos. I would say that Canto allows up to have a place to go to access materials required by all departments of the hotel - everyone has access to the same information. My personal use includes downloading content as well as uploading content to our corporate office for approval and addition to the galleries.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems a bit tricky for our administrator to create one account for all our hotels - I have been having this issue for a while now and no one can seem to figure it out - perhaps offering better training or more detailed training could solve this issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having all our media for our property under one account is helpful in the sense that we do not have to email content, photos, etc. to each other - we can all just log in and have access to what we need.

We found a solution for storing and sharing photos
What do you like best about the product?
The Inter-American Foundation is an independent U.S. government agency that promotes community-led development in Latin America and the Caribbean. We use photos and videos in our blogs and social media, in reports to Congress, and in our own communications products such as our annual report. At the IAF, we use Canto to compile, store, access, and share photos for our agency. I really appreciate the search and storage functions, and the ability to customize fields and create dropdown menus to make it easier to add new photos.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have the ability to automatically allow people with an IAF email address to access the library, without having to send them invitations and have them enroll and create a profile.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a system that could accommodate all of our photos, ideally in cloud-based storage that would be accessible from anywhere. It was very important to us to be able to attach metadata, including keywords, tags, descriptions, and custom fields, to each photo. It was also essential to us to be able to search by country, by grantee, by individual picture, and by topic area. We may need to find a photo of an artisanal fishery project, or of women in sustainable agriculture, or of a specific grantee from Honduras, and we needed a system that would make it easy to do that. Nice-to-haves included having a way for contractors, photographers, or foundation representatives to upload photos and videos, as well as having a way to share specific sets of photos with external people without having to share our entire photo catalog with them. Canto fits all of those needs and nice-to-haves for us. The main benefit has been saving time while looking for photos to use in products.
A Creative Business Asset
What do you like best about the product?
Canto allows for all our of creative content to be housed and organized in one central place. This gives our internal team and external partners access to files and we can set the permissions and parameters of how they can alter these files.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the functionalities like cropping and resizing images can be glitchy. Sometimes sharing links with external partners results in an error message that the partner cannot access the content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main challenge was organization and housing all of our content and assets. Before Canto we were using a shared folder which did not allow us to view and alter assets in the most efficient way.
Great System
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is great for organizing assets, especially photos and videos. Canto makes it easy to create style guides and portals for press kits and to send to clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canto is a bit hard to use. A lot of things have to be created through the settings instead of on the actual homepage. It can be confusing to navigate and difficult for new users on a team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending assets to clients in a clean way, avoiding large attachment issues, organizing all of our photos in one place so everyone knows where they are, easy sharing between teams etc.
Canto is a user friendly and easy to learn DAM
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is easy to navigate. I can keep all of my files organized by creating folders and subfolders. This feature makes it easy for my team to quickly sort through thousands of photos and videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about Canto is the lack of communication with the team. We should have an account manager or a designated person to reach out to if we have issues or questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto has saved me hours of filters through thousands of files. My favorite feature is the search tool - I can search someones name, a color, whatever it may be and Canto filters it for me.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how I am able to download picture and use them for digital backgrounds on meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
If anything is that by the time that the flyers sometimes take too long for me to get to them from the site. If the information could get on the site faster that would be great
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the issue with Canto because I can use the pictures for marketing purposes. And the benefits are that it gets people ready to travel to their destination
User Friendly Digital Asset Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is very user friendly. It has great customer support for organization and issues. It has a simple interface and lots of flexible specifications.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the lack of "admin" access for a portal, and sometimes I get frustrated with just how manual everything is. You cannot copy a file structure or a link. And I wish people other than admins could delete files. I also wish the cost for admins or power users wasn't SOOO much more than contributors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to keep final versions of assets organized for a variety of departments, as well as for vendors and our clients. So far, it's been a great cloud based tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a safer alternative to GoogleDrive for a large organization, I recommend Canto.
Canto has upgraded our companies organization process.
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful tool about Canto is tagging our imagery. It makes it easy for employees to search for images that they need. Canto Adobe Connector is a must for the design team as it makes it easy for our designers to drag and drop images within the Adobe programs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything runs pretty smoothly in Canto but I wish we could customize fonts for portals. This means uploading our own fonts and being able to display them on our portals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned, Adobe Canto connector saves the graphic design team time by easily searching for the image and dragging it to their work. We used to use dropbox and the loading times would take longer when we were searching for images.
