Very robust DAM platform - maybe too robust?
What do you like best about the product?
There are so many features built in to help manage and organize digital assets like photos and documents. These features make it easy to search and retrieve the files you're looking for (if folks input the correct tagging info).
What do you dislike about the product?
There are almost too many features/options for tagging and organizing files. It can be a bit overwhelming and difficult to navigate for new or casual users. It feels like one needs a training or onboarding course to get the most out of it. If you're a large org with thousands of files and several file types to manage, this is perfect for you. If you're a smaller shop, it may be a bit too robust.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have hundreds (maybe thousands) of photos that staff across teams/depts need varying levels of access to. Canto allows us to organize and store these files however we want and make access available to everyone internally and externally.
Efficient way to categorize and manage our digital assets.
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has helped our organization to keep our digital assets organized. Regardless of what I'm working on, there is one place to quickly find the assets I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tobe honest I use it fairly infrequently, so I have few dislikes at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization first. All our media is categorized and tagged and so I can easily find what I need and know if I can use it publicly or for internal use only. Second, everything is in one place. We used to have to hunt and find resources. Canto is now part of our process to make it easy to find assets.
The portals and facial recognition are EVERYTHING!
What do you like best about the product?
Canto's portals are amazing. I love being able to put all important templates, guides, photos, and videos we want our campus to use all in one place for easy access. Also, the facial recognition is super helpful for us--especially for those of us who haven't been at the university for 50 years. :)
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I don't like about Canto is the fact that I can't connect my OneDrive to it in one place. We typically put all working documents on OneDrive (and are moving out of Dropbox currently), and our finals go into Canto.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto has helped solve problems for us by providing efficient ways to share photo/video with internal and external stakeholders!
Great for efficiency!
What do you like best about the product?
I like how user-friendly it is, primarily, its sharing capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how you have to make sure you upload the correct naming convention to ensure that anything linked to the images being used under another API remains intact. If there was a way to make sure the name doesn't change or that it notifies you that the name being uploaded is different from the previous file, that would help avoid future issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't believe there has been an issue reported.
Still new to learning
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's very easy to search and share resources and all different file types between a larger team. I enjoy all the different view options, tags and sorting features. I do enjoy quickly being able to see file types when sorting as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm still pretty new to the platform so just trying to fully find what I need when searching in Canto, it can be a little overwhelming when working with so much content as a beginner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the main problems it's solving is limited access to shared resources. Canto is creating an easy-to-access library of content that can store a variety of file types but also be searchable to a whole team.
Canto Project Manager/ Admin
What do you like best about the product?
Custom field for file. We can insert information we want to display in order to provide our users the better exp.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Canto could work more on graphics. Canto should let users customize better accordingly their branding, color, fonts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
work on graphics to have better user exp.
Optimizing content delivery for creative organizations.
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to create multiple collections of images without creating redundant data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Streamline integration with Adobe apps. the plug-ins are not always the most intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Also need to look at better integrating on site backups.
Canto has solved our digital asset management issues.
What do you like best about the product?
Tagging and filtering of photos to find what I need
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the mobile app was closer to the desktop experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Digital asset management, being able to share assets both within and outside of our organization.
First DAM experience
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Canto is our centralized hub for all content at our multisite church. The portals have been game changers for our campuses and teams to have access to assets and their photos. We have also been frequently using the "links" and sharing content with church attendees. I love that we can password protect images.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest complaint is the cost and lack of full access users you get. We have a lot of different teams that would thrive with using the full Canto experience, but we can't afford the additional cost per user. We have found that educating on the abilities of portals helps, but it isn't as robust as desired.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto ensures we have access and organization for our photos, videos, and distributable assets. By being able to tag, label, and organize photos, we can be a more efficient team.
Versatile simplicity
What do you like best about the product?
It gives us a place to keep all of our digital assets and helps tremendously when we have loads of photos to sort through after a shoot.
What do you dislike about the product?
Every now and then I will forget how to do something that I need that is slightly less intuitive than most operations...that's mostly on me though!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had assets stored in a myriad of places, including our offsite agency. Now we can store all of it and have access even when traveling.
