A good product to start with in digital asset management
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has made managing our digital assets and sharing across our design team and enterprise far easier than with our previous tools. It automatically makes metadata searchable, and it's pretty easy to import assets from old systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like more integration with Adobe Creative Cloud software. There is an InDesign plugin, but similar tools for other programs would be helpful. The organizational structure can be a little clunky and limiting, due to this being a web-based tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We struggled with finding digital assets before Canto, and our previous tools didn't allow for shared access. Now our whole team has access to all our assets, and sharing outside the team is easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The better organized your assets are prior to import, the better off you'll be. Migration will be time-consuming, but preparing ahead of time will help with that.

Canto does the job of a basic asset management system. It's well organized

Canto is overpriced and extremely slow. Downloading and viewing photos takes too long.

Works Well for Social Media and Marketing
What do you like best about the product?
We like that Image Relay is organized and easy to use. Photos and marketing materials are sorted, and the layout of the website makes it easy to navigate and search for what we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that would be helpful is a video file converter. If a video on image relay is too big of a file to use for an attachment, it would be handy to have an option of downloading a smaller video file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Image Relay gives us access to hundreds of high quality images to use for marketing that aren't found on other image websites.

What do you like best about the product?
Image Realy is easy to use and navigate, having the ability to upload files and share them within my team and across other teams in my company is super helpful. The upload process is easy and quick, I also love the ability to add metadata and key-wording during upload.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been a couple times that I ave some hiccups logging in and I also have needed to reach out several times to get permissions. Since I am unable to delete folders, I would also like a designated area to safely store rejected items instead of deleting them or just leaving them whee they are.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We create a lot of content on our team, we needed a centralized location to store all of those files and share them across teams. Also, having a storage option office has been helpful for backing up our work since drives are known to ail and are always a concern for those crating a lot of valuable assets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use, and secure!

What do you like best about the product?
I like that we aren't emailing photos to each other and it can all be in one place. It also makes it a lot easier to work with photographers in different places, because they can just upload the photos directly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if the system was a little faster. It can be a bit clunky at times, which can be stressful if you're trying to get something done quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It eliminates emails going back and forth with huge files. It used to be a complete mess.

Compare the ways you are organizing photos now to the way you would like to be doing it. Then look and see if Canto solves those problems.

I wish that information was better presented to the end user so certain asset data points (photographer, credit info, etc.) are more prominent and unmissable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Digital asset management and distribution. Easy control of our thousands and thousands of images, videos, etc.
Image Relay for Marketing Asset Sharing
What do you like best about the product?
A great tool for quickly uploading and organizing files in an visually appealing way. Easy to use, and easy to share files.
What do you dislike about the product?
Downloading images at a lower resolution is incredibly slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We share our marketing images and videos with our customers. We want to be able to present those marketing assets in a professional way that isn't confusing for the end user.

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to manage brand; control, categorize and securely organize my collateral; and share as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Preview could be improved. Need to recognize additional image file types and present preview.

Easier to manage and share corporate assets!
Great way to organize digital assets
What do you like best about the product?
Easily organize all digital assets with folders and albums. Search ability is great and the tagging system is very easy to understand and customize. You can easily find what you're looking for even if you have thousands of photos to sort through.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software can run slow sometimes. It is also difficult to change tags and it doesn't always work to mass-select and try to change that way. I don't like how you can no longer use commas in tagging. For example, we use to tag a person by writing "Last Name, First Name." Now, it splits up the persons name when you use a comma and you can no longer have both names in the tag.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily manage our photos and share organization-wide only the photos we want to share. We can also share photos with people outside the organization and easily edit their download ability, which is great for when we only want them to view photos versus download and share. This has been a great tool to manage where our photos are being used. We use the commenting feature to note whenever we use a photo so it is easy to track where photos are used and when we need to update print materials if a photo ever needs to be taken down and not sued anymore.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to utilize the mass-upload feature to save time on tagging and organizing your assets.

I can quickly select and share files with anyone.

There is a short time lag when opening images sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving my internal team access to assets that they can then share with clients during the sales cycle. This has made it easier to sell our services.

Figure out a strategy for keywords and tags so it's super easy for users.
