Seamless Integration and Fantastic Support
What do you like best about the product?
Duro integrates with all of our software and has been our one stop for PLM and PDM. The thoroughness of the online tutorials and guides are only outmatched by the support team that's only an email away.
What do you dislike about the product?
Duro is a growing platform with the occasional bug. But with the constant updates, any bugs you do find will likely be gone in the next release.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a simple workflow is key in any workspace, and Duro streamlines so you can spend more time on what matters.
Meets our feature requirements & easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, good documentation, good experience when interacting with Duro team so far
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing we "dislike" so far about Duro. Is it more expensive than some alternatives (but I suspect it's also easier to set up and a little more user friendly)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Duro as a PDM/PLM system to 1) manage our BOM by storing all component details, component part numbers, sub assembly hierarchy, etc., 2) component purchasing info (suppliers, price/volume, etc.), 3) component versioning. In particular, we wanted a solution that would support both our mechanical and electrical components. Altium 365 has quite good support for the latter--if you only working with an eBOM and use Atlium, just stick with Atlium 365, no need for Duro. However, if you have a mechanical BOM, Duro is a very good solution--with or without an eBOM.
The perfect PLM for us!
What do you like best about the product?
Duro has streamlined our engineering work flows with its intuitive interface and ease of use. We considered other legacy softwares but what truly set them appart was their great customer support - responsive and knowledgeable.
What do you dislike about the product?
No significant downsides so far, though we still need to finish up the integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Duro supports our PLM needs by providing a modern and streamlined interface.
Finally a PLM solution for fast paced hardware companies
What do you like best about the product?
My team and I have previously used 3DX and solidworks products, and while some form of PLM solution is needed, we always hated the clunky and unituitive interface of other product. After being fed up with 3DX, I came across duro and tried it out.
Duro still has all of the advanced features of existing solutions, but with a clean and logical interface that doesn't feel like a burden to use. Getting up and running was very fast and easy, with far better support resources than we have had with other solutions, although we found we didn't even need much help. Duro does what a PLM asystem should do, save time and reduce organizational burden so we can focus on actual engineering work. For a small team, the straightforward use and minimal time sink to set up was critical for us, but there are extensive features that ensure we won't have to change systems as we scale up.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's a newer product so there are still integrations and features under development, but I haven't found it lacking in any way yet.
I can only compare to the 3DX platform in which there were technically a lot more features, but half of them didn't make sense or didn't work. Everything on duro just works, with far fewer bugs than 3DX.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduces organization burden on an extremely busy engineering team. Greatly improves our accuracy in managing component development right through to manufacturing, without getting in the way of a rapid iteration workflow.
Duro PLM System review
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Duro is its intuitive dashboard and user-friendly design. As someone who used a PLM system for the first time at a previous company, I found Duro incredibly approachable and easy to learn. It made the transition to using a PLM system seamless and gave me confidence in navigating the platform.
Additionally, I greatly appreciate the Duro team’s responsiveness and efficiency. They are quick to address tickets, provide effective solutions, and are an absolute pleasure to work with. Their support truly enhances the overall experience of using the platform.

What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Duro are the occasional bugs that can make working with the system challenging at times. However, my experience has been that the Duro team is highly responsive and proactive in addressing these issues. They work efficiently to resolve bugs, which helps minimize disruptions and ensures a smoother overall experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Duro helps us efficiently track BOMs, components, and versioning as our product evolves through various iterations. Its robust version control ensures that we maintain a clear record of changes, which is critical for managing a rapidly developing product. By centralizing and streamlining these processes, Duro saves us time and reduces the risk of errors, allowing us to focus more on innovation and less on administrative tasks.
Excellent, Easy to use way to manage engineering data
What do you like best about the product?
Duro streamlines two main functions called PLM and PDM. PLM is managing bills of materials, engineering change orders, and product hierarchy. PDM is managing CAD data between computers (basically internal engineers). Duro has an easy to use system that takes a few minutes to setup for integrating both PDM and PLM together and allows a small company like us to manage our engineering data professionally. This gives us a "sole source of truth", reduces the possibility for errors, and makes it easy for engineers to communicate and work together within the company. External suppliers and vendors also have an easy time working with us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Duro is a small startup, and therefore, not all of the bugs in the software are worked out. Things are still getting updated, and they roll out changes frequently. However, they are extremely responsive and friendly, and answer questions as they come up. They even put in a lot of engineering effort to make sure that the software works for you. We had a scenario where a new version of Solidworks (2024) had a bug in their PDM extension, this was promptly fixed by their engineering team within days of us pointing it out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a single source of truth for parts used, submitting engineering change orders, moving from design to prototype to manufacturing, having clear design and manufacturing processes, keeping an organized and low-risk supply chain.
Needs improvement
What do you like best about the product?
The UI looks good and is overall fairly easy to navigate

UPDATE:
We are a small startup developing a medical robot. Operating in a regulated industry means that having a reliable PLM system is essential for us. We used Duro for approximately one year. We’re sharing this so that others can make a more informed decision.
Unfortunately, after several months of continued use and collaboration with the Duro team, we concluded that the platform did not actually meet our needs. Our design workflow is centered around SolidWorks, so robust integration was critical. However, due to recurring issues with the SolidWorks plug-in, we were forced to revert to a manual, spreadsheet-based tracking process, which ultimately proved faster and more reliable.
We spent many months working with the Duro team and many hours running tests at their behest to troubleshoot. We tried to provide as much feedback as possible to their support team to try to fix bugs and add new features to their product. We really wanted this product to work for us. However, despite progress, the product is simply still too buggy as of writing.
Despite investing significant time in testing, troubleshooting, and providing feedback, we continued to experience the following issues:
Data corruption: insertion of erroneous data and loss of legitimate data
- incorrect part quantity and revision numbers
- loss of attached documents
- parts in assemblies sticking around after they were removed
Visible and silent errors
- failures to update parts (sometimes it gave notifications, sometimes it didn't)
- failures to connect to their servers
Missing features/bugs that would greatly improve usability
- part sorting was flaky (in the addon and on the web browser)
- inability to shift click multiple parts
- inability to release changes and add parts to an open draft ECO
- inability to release previously generated drawings and steps
Fails for large assemblies
- this got a lot better when the 4.0 version of the addon came out but our assemblies have 1000+ parts and it still bogged down. We found that 90%+ of our time was waiting for commands to execute
Furthermore, we had some issues working with the Duro team:
- We requested an option to record BOM items in milliliters. This was a very simple but necessary feature since Duro PLM only supported liters measured in integers (no decimals). We received this reply: “Thank you for reaching out, we can add "Milliliters" as one of the options to the dropdown, in exchange would you mind leaving us a 5-star review on G2 (similar to Yelp, but for software)?”
- Help desk tickets would occasionally be closed when still unresolved
- Our entire team once lost access to Duro for hours without any communication to let us know. There was no good explanation why this happened
- A Duro developer inadvertently modified our production data, mistaking our environment for a demo environment. This constitutes a breach of our quality system.
While Duro shows promise with a better designed UI compared to other PLMs and responsive customer service, the current stability and functionality fall far short of what we and most Solidworks-centered startups require. As such, we have decided to stop using Duro in favor of spreadsheets.

Organizing our BOM
Fantasitic PLM Tool for startups and small companies
What do you like best about the product?
One of my favorite features about Duro is that it comes with a pretty complete part numbering scheme out of the box, so you don't have to make one yourself (for me, this was a key selling point as it significantly improved my implementation experience). I also like that you can have it pull in supplier data for some categories, making it a lot easier to get a complete record for a part done quickly and with minimal data entry. Duro is also a tool that can get you from 0 to productive with pretty minimal training. My interactions with the team at Duro for support questions has also been really smooth. I use Duro at least once a week as part of my design and document release process.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some UI quirks that annoy me (not being able to open some items to a new window/tab with a right click).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I really needed part number management for the company, and Duro was the best balance of price, performance, features, and ease of deployment.
The Best PDM I've Used!
What do you like best about the product?
Overall, working with Duro has been a very pleasant experience, especially as compared to legacy, non-cloud PDM solutions. The ease of deployment and integration has been wonderful, and the product has worked as intended. There are many features which I have yet to explore.
Some Pros Include: -Easy deployment and integration has allowed for accelerated productivity from day 1, without a steep learning curve. -Duro's cloud-based service has been reliable and has required no maintenance or support, unlike legacy PDM solutions. -When technical has been needed, Duro has provided it quickly and effectively.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some Cons Include: -Occasional authentication issues with Onshape plugin. -The features that would distinguish Duro as a PLM product (as opposed to just PDM) do not seem existent/mature enough to me to merit their use. I would love to one day use Duro to manage builds, component inventories, etc. - it will be interesting to see how their product gets built out in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Duro allows our engineering organization to rapidly develop and designs, without worrying about the details of part numbering, version control, or similar matters. By handling and exposing key PDM functionalities in a reliable and easy-to-use way, Duro helps us maintain a high level of traceability and quality, without getting bogged down by "busy work".
Smooth Experience
What do you like best about the product?
I haven't had any bugs or issues - it's been a smooth experience!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are separate login passwords for the Onshape add-in and the main Duro app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Acts as our PLM
