Fantastic service that allows me to single handily administer almost 2000 devices.

What do you like best about the product?
The use of smart groups to determine how devices are administered based on the needs of those groups.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to scope directly to members of classes in Apple School Manager instead of needing to create a smart group to do so would be appreciated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro allows me to administer student iPads easily and with little hassle. The ability to create smart groups allows me to scope required profiles and apps based on class, grade, student or faculty.

Jamf Pro

What do you like best about the product?
How it works so well with Apple Business Manager. The ability to push apps to multiple devices and manage these devices together.
What do you dislike about the product?
Trying to get hold of customer service via telephone usually do not get through right away. This can be very aggravating when you are trying to solve an issue and need answers right away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having the control over what is put on our Company iPads is so helpful. This way we can put what apps need to be on there and not have individuals downloading apps that are not business related. Using the blueprints makes it easier to set up iPads for a particular division in our company.

Software is user friendly to use. Getting assistance on issues w/Jamf Chat is great.

What do you like best about the product?
Software is user friendly to use. Locking down devices and locating devices that are lost or stolen is great! Setting up security protocals is great to have on iphones. Less issues w/phones and staff using iPhones. Having Customer Support trouble shoot and solve issues w/phone is great! Setting up iPhones in Jamf is easy. I am able to access Jamf easily to check on devices, add or remove them from Jamf frequently.
What do you dislike about the product?
As the Administrator, I cannot find anything about Jamf that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issues w/iPhones when staff leaves the company and accessing and resetting devices. Staff are unable to download software w/out approval from Management. It is helping us locate lost & stolen devices. It is helping keep apps up to date on iPhones.

The standard for Mac/iOS management

  • August 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf offers a very complete set of tools to allow admins to manage their Mac and iOS fleet. Like most tools, it has its own rules and quirks but it's not an impossible task to learn how to use Jamf and make it do just about anything you want it to do. There's also a large community of users who have been using Jamf for a long time and it's almost certain that if you're having an issue with Jamf, someone else has had the same problem and has posted a solution to the issue. Jamf support is also very good (but often you'll get a quicker answer if you search the customer forums.)
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a Mac/iOS only solution--is you want to manage Windows, you need a different tool. That's not necessarily bad as you can have a best-in-class solution for each platform. Jamf is probably the biggest single player in the Mac management space and sometimes their business decisions and pricing reflect that. It's a very good tool, but it's not cheap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro has made it easy to deploy and manage our Mac fleet. Fortunately we haven't had to do a lot of remote wiping of machines, but we've tested the process and are very satisfied that it would work quickly and well should we ever need to do it. It has helped with keeping our Macs and their associated applications updated (the Jamf App Store is particularly helpful in this regard.)

Jamf pro is a must have

What do you like best about the product?
I couldn't manage the IT of 1200 students without JAMF Pro. From pushing certificates to printers, apps to security policies. Mac's without JAMF pro shouldn't be allowed in schools or businesses. It's amazing how a product works as is it was designed by Apple.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I don't like about JAMF Pro. But it's not a problem for me is you need to know Apple scripting if you want to do advanced stuff. It's amazing how much you can script but you need to know how to program it. A database of premade scripts would be helpful. Like the jamf app Catalog. They need a JAMF script Catalog
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deploying configuration and maintaining Apple Mac computers, iPads and Apple tvs

The leader in MDM for Apple devices for a reason

  • August 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The system is constantly evolving and updating. They work directly with Apple to be ready for each new OS upgrade. The interface is clean and fairly easy to use. Rolling it out was easy and quick and their onboarding team was fantastic. Customer support has been great and easy to work with and quick to repsond.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing particular about Jamf that I dislike, though MDMs can be complicated to understand and configure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to manage our Apple devices remotely and keep compliance controls managed because of Jamf Pro. Jamf Connect is allowing us to use 2FA-based authentication at login to the devices, as well. Pushing app and OS updates is critical and Jamf Pro makes it pretty easy. The new Jamf Apps Catalog is a great feature and continues to improve and add more apps.

Jamf has changed how we manage endpoints

What do you like best about the product?
Speed. We do use InTune for Windows and the difference is speed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is probably the only drawback. It can get expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Macs are entering the workforce more and having ease of management makes my role simpler.

It just made everything so easy

What do you like best about the product?
While the documentation can sometimes leave a little to be desired, the associates in the customer service/technical support area are absolutely amazing. There was an issue i was specifically having with the MacOS that i could not get resolved, i contacted JAMF on a whim to see if they could guide me in the correct direction and they completely helped me through the issue.
Now that JAMF has been setup, i only need to login a handful of times a week to get new applications prepared or send out OS updates.
This originally was just for MacOS, however, we did have a number of ipads enrolled through another MDM i was looking into migrating over to JAMF. I thought i did not have something correctly implemented, but it was so rediculously easy that I enrolled the device and it was already 90% of what the end users needed on their manufacturiong based ipad setup.
I would recommend this each and every time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation could be better. The 2 things i've found that aren't a stopper to anything, but more of an annoyance.
when sending major OS updates to the next version, you cannot schedule them... i'm not sure if this is a JAMF limitation, or a MAC limitation... but that's hard on the end user.
If there was a way to schedule the button click, that would be awesome.
the second thing is on the ipads, you can click a checkbox to not show the application in the self service application after installation; MacOS does not have this feature built in which makes the self service kind of messy at times... Other than that, this has been great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
an extremely easy MDM solution to our once "wild west" style apple implemenation. We had them in another MDM that was terribly slow and unreliable; JAMF completely changed my views on how apple devices can be managed in an enterprise environment.
