I love that I can push apps to a specific device
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there is a delay between Jamf cloud and Apple School manager
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
App management - We were never able to see usage and that data is priceless
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Save your documents and receipts to add even older devices to the managed cloud. I can now manage some of the earliest ipads that we deployed.

What do you like best about the product?
Customer Support is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every problem that I have had was addressed quickly, efficiently, and with even better results than I had hope for.
What do you dislike about the product?
I love everything. Haven't had a problem yet! The program was a little confusing to figure out at first but Customer Service Tech support helped guide me through everything with patience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lots of issues due to our shared iPad situation in our district but customer service reps always have a suggestion of how we can make our situation work!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jamf Pro has been a great and needed resource in managing our 1600 iPads. The individual who first started our process of switching from AirWatch to JAMF, she left mid-switch. JAMF made it easy for myself to step into a mess and clean it up.

I would only like to be able to see a devices location without locking it down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing apps, distribution, and fixing problems remotely without doing a hands-on.

Jamf Pro is high tech management for Apple products.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to push software in mass to Apple devices. Being able to do things on your schedule...not someone else's. Like the web interface and it's usability on mobile platforms. How you can make builds work. Also, with the newest Mac OSes 'Mojave & Catalina', if you 'build' using Time Machine, then once you enroll the machines you can roll out all your software in one swoop. Nice!
What do you dislike about the product?
Being a University, it's hard to tell if Jamf Support is engaged sometimes. They do follow through nicely. The trying videos need updating, but you can get the bull of understanding from them. Some functions can only be used by the Web interface. Some other functions can only be used by the Jamf Pro Admin suite app. Seems a little strong but somewhat understandable in some things like 'capturing a printer' or 'creating a Dock icon'. But, if you want to 'duplicate' a build configuration then you can only do that in the Web interface...even though, the only way to 'modify' a configuration is with the Jamf Pro Admin suite app. The only was to 'upload' new packages is with the Jamf Pro Admin and not the Web interface. If you use 'Policies' to push out software or Configuration Profiles, you can't 'make it go now'...there's no telling when the server will push out the thing...if you're testing...then you may be waiting a while or till the next day to see 'if it works' as expected. Jamf pushes out updates several times a year, and that's ok, only, the catch is, your 'suite' of apps have to 'match' the version of the server binary. So, if you 'update every time' then you're updating your suite of apps in every place where you have it installed. Just depends on how you work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single Handedly managing over 100+ Apple computers. Able to update all machines at once using the Jamf Pro suite of apps. Being able to manage the machines without having to use Faronics Deep Freeze. Using the Active Directory bind actions makes all users 'Network Users' with no Admin priveleges. Also, being able to set Open Firmware passwords especially on laptops, I can use the iCloud functions for 'Find my device' and we have not lost a machine yet since using this....they all come home.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a large management framework. Make sure you study and ask questions...also consider the Mac Admin Slack community. Be prepared for the required 1-week Jamf Pro training = $6,000. If you can, watch the training videos 'before ' the 1-week time with a Jamf Pro Engineer on site.

Outstanding product, outstanding support

  • February 13, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Day 1 support for OS releases and new features. In-country support that is easy to reach. UI's that align with Apple framework documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation on some add-on products (AD CS Connector, JIM), and some config profiles could be more detailed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a Mac management solution that was easy to understand for admins with no Mac experience. Jamf has been a breeze. My team, which normally uses SCCM and GPO, found Jamf easy to navigate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jamf is a great tool, and the support is excellent.

Jamf - So much more than Just Another Management Framework

  • February 13, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of creating and deploying policies and profiles really makes Jamf the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to be able to let users defer for a certain amount of hours not just till a certain time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping out fleet of macOS and iOS devices up to date and secure. Headache-less deployment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it. It's the best MDM I have ever had the pleasure of managing.

Jamf revolutionized how we do business

  • December 20, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The product is easy to use, and once you have an idea of how it functions, that is, understand its organization and UX/UI, it all makes a great deal of sense.

Once you have set everything up the way you like, the system more or less runs itself and you can focus on more interesting things than how a certain Mac is set up. Afterwards, you are really only worried about updates to packages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like with any infrastructure product, there is a significant amount of things to learn. The trainings they offer are expensive, at least for us in the public sector (may not be an issue in private industry). It can be hard to get started without knowing which questions to ask, what to think about, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do not have to manage images any longer, and do not need to think of our environment has periodically needing to be re-imaged to update. Rather, it is possible to focus your time and energy on the creation of standardized policies that are capable of being applied throughout the organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
From my perspective, Jamf is the first on the market and the product that is most fully fledged. There are many alternatives, but I highly recommend this product due to the significant experience that the company has.

The Only MDM Solution for Apple Devices that You'll Need or Want.

  • December 20, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is a powerful tool to monitor and track any choices that can be conceived on Apple devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
With non-Apple devices, there is no convergence. If this technology spread to several operating systems, it would be the best product ever for device management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem of automatic startup and restarting of iPads for MyChartBedside has been addressed by Jamf Pro. The platform helps users to make automated removal of the unit by using our gui. To our business this is a great victory.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use Jamf Pro if you want the system to be fully integrated. Sadly, MacOs and iOS devices have no alternative available.
