Jamf Pro is a great management tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge using Jamf Pro training. Jamf Pro makes it very easy to manage Apple devices in our environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard could be laid out better, more intuitively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resolved deployment issues using scripts and remotely managing devices. I've realized the benefit of being able to manage all of our Apple devices remotely in our environment.

This is a great set of management tools that are easy to use! Great community if you have any issues or questions as well!
Jamf Pro is a must have MDM for Apple Device management
What do you like best about the product?
Strong feature set for managing Apple devices in an enterprise or education environment. The Jamf Pro interface both from an admin and user perspective are modern, intuitive and very well designed. The Jamf Nation community forum is lively and active with other like minded admins willing to help. Jamf is dedicated to your success with Apple devices by providing day-one support for Apple's software releases and reliable product support from their teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is a major detractor to Jamf Pro. While it is worth the cost of a mature management platform, the competition is providing similar capabilities at a fraction of the price. Training is also needed for the steep learning curve that is Jamf Pro but is worth partaking to learn the principles of MDM and Apple device management.
Configuration Profile management could use some improvement in terms of granularity of controls.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simplified and reliable management of Apple devices while ensuring the end user experience is superior to other desktop offerings. Collecting telemetry of Apple devices provides us with data that helps us remediate any user or security issues.
Zero touch deployment has been achieved due to the deep integration of Apple Business Manager and Pre-Stage Deployment with Jamf. We can drop ship an Apple device to a user directly today without technical hands-on intervention saving us time and money.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jamf Pro is the gold standard to management Apple devices but really explore the market for Mac management and see what else is out there in comparison. Jamf Pro has the most features but it the cost is there as well.
Very powerful tool for Apple OSX management.
What do you like best about the product?
Simple interface where we only need to develop our scripts and policies without worrying about the tool's reliability and availability. The only requirement is the laptop is connected to the internet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that i can think of. Everything is working fine.

Jamf makes managing Macs easy!
What do you like best about the product?
Since switching to Jamf, we've been able to more easily manage our labs and devices. It's reliable, easy to use, and has excellent support folks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer to view a list of devices or computers that are in a group or have a certain policy applied to them. The checkboxes/lists are a little difficult to see/manage. More robust search features would be helpful!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf is making it easier to prevent users putting activation locks on their devices, and makes it a snap to reconfigure returning devices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Getting started early with Apple volume purchasing is key and saves headaches down the road
Hands-down, the most powerful mobile device management Tools
What do you like best about the product?
Easy of use. This product is the Apple of the MDM world for managing iOS and Macs. Helpful support and community with solid focus on Security.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly there isn't much I can complain about
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf enables us to manage over 3,000 iOS and iPadOS devices, as well as 150 macOS machines, all with just one person. Deployment is incredibly straightforward. The option to lock down devices for patient use in a healthcare setting is essential. Now, with the addition of Android management, the platform is even more versatile.
Jamf Pro
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of control you have over devices. The forum is great when you have questions on why something you did does not work or how to do something. There is a vast amount of information on how to get your job done through Jamf Pro. Users will post scripts that will help you. The community is awesome! The amount of items that can be set ahead of time or changed/controlled later is massive.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few small items that are really more personal preferences. One is the ability to search multiple types under the search at one time. As it is, you can search computer or local accounts, etc. They do take suggestions on items that should be changed and you see a lot of these implemented in updates. They will mark the suggestions if they are working on them or plan to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Latest quick fix for us was changing our network SSID. I simply setup a configuration for the change and sent it to all devices that needed it. Not ever device goes to the same SSID. Extremely quick and easy to do. My setup of new devices takes so much less time due to Jamf. I control most of my updates for programs through Jamf.
IT Support Senior Specialist
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to do zero-touch deployments and the cloud aspect. I really like that I can send software or account upgrades via the cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a few more features that could be added to jam too many to list here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now that everyone is connected via off-campus via the cloud updates and software deployment has been solved.
Mac Management for the Pros
What do you like best about the product?
Jamfs security and integration have given me, as an admin, the best tools possible to meet SOC2 compliance demands. Other programs like Addigy might have a few more admirable features and a newer interface, but Jamfs infrastructure is robust and reliable which we need right now more than ever. The #JamfNation community on MacAdmins has been a lifesaver as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that there is no built in partnership with a Remote Desktop software. Jamf Remote is only useful if you're on the same network, which is redundant to Mac's native remote desktop / SSH features. Addigy, for example, packages ConnectWise and their own https:// enabled Remote Tool. Similarly, Jamf lacks a "Live Terminal" that lets you run terminal commands at the admin level from the Jamf console. Addigy and even Meraki mdm allowed this function.
Jamf is a bit more complex right out of the box, and the onboarding can be helpful, but there are still so many settings and features to understand it could be intimidating for a new/small admin team without consultants on hand to assist. More experienced Admins will be able to jump in right away, though, and be pleased with all it offers.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Updating local admin accounts, ability to report on machines having Disk Encryption enabled or not, the ability to show compliant machines for SOC2 audit requests, push configuration profiles, utilize a self-service portal.
Jamf Pro is great for any sized business, and it's continually getting better.
What do you like best about the product?
You can do pretty much anything in order to better manage your macs. If there's something you want to do, but are unsure how to, there's a lot of great information out there from the community.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, and it's pretty rare, a device will lose the ability to talk with the MDM server. Not sure if it's an expired cert, someone enrolled incorrectly, or what. Re-enroll the device and it's usually fine. Not a terrible fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complete management of our macOS and iOS fleet. Pushing out information to agents in the field via iOS devices. Managing updates, software installs, etc on macOS. Had to change antivirus programs not that long ago. Super easy via jamf. Blacklist the old program (it uninstalled it) and run a script to install the new program. Scope it out to everyone. Super easy.
Fantastic Tool for Apple Device Management
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro is the gold standard for apple device management. Nothing else really even comes close. They offer zero day support for Apple OS releases, and are constantly innovating to make device management easier for IT admins. The simplicity of managing profiles and integrating with Apple Business Manager is second to none.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf is more expensive than many other competitors. Many competitors are half the price or less. There is also a decent learning curve. The jumpstart is very expensive, but well worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf allows us to remotely manage our fleet of Apple devices. Buy being cloud based, we had no issues supporting or managing our devices when everyone was remote during COVID-19. We can manage digital signage around our facilities running on Apple TVs from anywhere in the world. The security provided by using Jamf Pro allows us the confidence to not worry about if a device is compliant.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your budget allows it, there is no better alternative. If you don't have a large budget, you may need to look elsewhere. Plan to allow 1-2 weeks for deployment. Make sure you have someone somewhat familiar with managing macOS, iOS, iPadOS, or tvOS devices to assist with management.
