Innovative, Efficient and overall great Product
What do you like best about the product?
As a consultancy, the support provided for new software and OS releases is brilliant and is available immediately. Jamf Pro's straightforward and intuitive interface allows users of all abilities to navigate around the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a consultancy, it is frustrating having to go through a Jumpstart during every single implementation. Other than that, no negative experiences with Jamf Pro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Jamf Pro has allowed us to support and assist organizations remotely during C19 - this has allowed our clients to push out updates, changes and manage their devices without the need to be on site.
A Prime Example of a Product that Strives for Compatibility
What do you like best about the product?
Zero-day mac management. I did not have to wait 2-3 months for support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Plugin docs like SCCM Plugin, ADCS are lacking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mac management for those devices we did not previously manage. If it doesn't exist in JAMF, we can script it, and it will be there eventually.
It's cool to administrate Apple devices
What do you like best about the product?
Applying policies, scripts, packages. Restrictions
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the jamf cloud instance is a bit laggy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Patch management, security restrictions etc.
JAMF Connect - Okta
What do you like best about the product?
Allowed me to make great strides towards a Zero Touch solution using JAMF Connect and Okta. Enables MFA for the local endpoint and completely eliminates the issue with Filevault and AD Passwords.
What do you dislike about the product?
Automatic update integration is still lacking, so far it hasn't worked, I've had to specifically tell the integration to update, rather than let it drive itself. Maybe some will like this but I do not. In addition, the demobilization workflow is kind of tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zero Touch
Filevault Synchornization Issues
MFA for Endpoints
Decoupling from AD

Jamf Pro, an excellent enterprise MDM solution
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro enables us to manage our mac enviroment efficiently and cost effectively
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited patch management options, like scheduling or delayed execution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No longer have free floating unmanaged macs in our environment, and we are able to quickly provide faculty and staff with the applications and support they need.
Apple and Jamf goes hand in hand
What do you like best about the product?
The good thing about Jamf Pro is the day one support they bring for any apple release, making sure all new payloads from apple are available in Jamf for us to configure and use. A couple of examples, Day 1 support for macOS Monterey, Configuration profile for Defer Major OS Upgrade, and the enhanced products that they are bringing now in Jamf.
What do you dislike about the product?
These days I am observing a big issue on the Jamf Support end; the problem seems to be at the L1 support level. L2 and higher are great, but L1 takes their own time to pass on the case to L2 / L3 queue, which delays the resolution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro is helping us with automation, best end-user experience, onboarding, offboarding, Identity management, Conditional Access, and whatnot
The gold standard in MDM for Apple Products
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf's focus is Apple products and it shows in how they build their solutions. They always have Apple's design focus and ease of use in mind. I always know where to go if I need to make a change to a setting or update a configuration profile. I've been using Jamf since they were called Casper and every update has always included a feature that has been requested by their users. They actively listen and make changes based on feedback. As Apple releases updates, Jamf is always there to support them and I don't have to wait.
What do you dislike about the product?
With Jamf being one of the first MDM solutions for Apple products, they have to keep around some older frameworks and may be out of date with bleeding-edge technologies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to have as much control over our corporate Mac devices with the best user experience possible. Our users pick Apple devices because that's what they are familiar with so having Jamf and Self Service allows them to use that familiarity to manage their Mac.
Essential for Managing Apple Platforms
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf is consistently the best management platform for Apple platforms, including macOS and iOS, offering same-day support for the latest software. Additionally Jamf provides great flexibility via extension attributes and scripts, managed app schemas for Configuration Profiles, and the wonderful Jamf community.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Jamf leans too heavily on the community, instead of investing more into the product directly. However, this has been changing recently with the addidtion of managed app schemas and the rapidly expanding app catalog for patch management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to my current position, I managed and supported over 1,200 devices in Higher Education, using Jamf to build a solid foundation that I could hand off to others within my org as I leveraged the Jamf API to manage and provide version control to things like extension attributes and scripts. The API is a very large reason to use Jamf over similar a Apple-focused MDM.
Managing Macs in EDU
What do you like best about the product?
I'm a single person admin managing ~1400 macs, and moving to Jamf has made that job so much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using Patch is a somewhat cumbersome process, but ultimately still provides a massive benefit to keeping my computers up to date with application releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are deploying software and keeping those apps up to date, and managing multiple security and configuration profiles.
9 Years of being a Jamf user
What do you like best about the product?
I think the best thing is how Jamf is constantly transitioning to be better. The platform, the customer service, and the resources.
What do you dislike about the product?
That the cloud server is still not recognized by federal agencies yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can update Macs remotely and in big groups instead of one by one.
