What do you like best about the product?
I find the Customer Support is responds in a very timely manner.

I find it is very easy to relate the core offerings of the platform to key business issues and propose Collibra as the tool that can solve these issues and thus generate value through cost savings.

The documentation makes it very easy to understand what is required for the technical implementation of the platform and integration of it with multiple different data sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Inaccessible Language
- I find some of the language used within the Collibra tool adds a barrier to rolling it out successfully as it doesn't seem particularly intuitive to me.


]2. Navigation UI/UX
- I find that the biggest barrier to target consumers on site being satisfied with Collibra is navigation. Countless times I hear employees have entered the tool and it has not been intuitive enough for them to find what they want, thus they leave.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping users find data faster by themselves.
- Reducing reliance on Colleagues.
- Increasing available analytics time.
- Enabling faster data access requests.
- Reduction in duplicate request for analytics (power bi)

Impact assessment (downstream lineage)
- enabling staff to understand the downstream impacts of their actions without having to rely on support from IT support.
- reduction in unintended consequences

Data Quality investigations (upstream lineage)
- enable staff to understand where DQ issues may have come from.
- reduce reliance on IT staff to reverse engineer stored procedures.

What is our primary use case?

Regarding my most common use cases for Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, I can describe them clearly.

The platform provides me with data cataloging features, which is really helpful.

How has it helped my organization?

I can confirm that using the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform provides time savings, money savings, and other benefits that I have experienced.

What is most valuable?

Collibra Data Intelligence Platform impressively provides AI features.

I have noticed it works within one ecosystem where each tool is collaborating effectively.

What needs improvement?

In terms of improvements, I would highlight a few points that could be enhanced in the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform.

How are customer service and support?

I am satisfied with the Collibra technical support team. If I ever contacted them, I might have had some issue or question for them.

If I had to rate them, I would definitely use a scale from one to ten to express my thoughts effectively.

I would give a 10 for the support team.

How was the initial setup?

I have some experience deploying the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, and the initial setup and configuration for the needs take a specific timeframe.

I may not recall exactly how long it took for my company or my clients to deploy the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, but I can provide an estimate.

It is impressive to see how fast it can be set up, typically within a few days or working days, which I can confirm is really fast.

What other advice do I have?

On our website, I did research on Data Governance tools, and I can share feedback on that type of tools.

I am representing PeerSpot, which is a review website, and I am collecting feedback on the tools to publish an article on our website.

For Data Governance tools, I have worked with Purview of Microsoft, though this was mainly for research and POC that I did for my clients.

I have been working with Collibra Data Intelligence Platform for a specific period.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Collibra Data Intelligence Platform a 10.

Workflows and data quality increase productivity with efficient automation

What is our primary use case?

I work with Collibra Data Intelligence Platform. I am experienced in both platforms, but more experienced with Collibra Data Intelligence Platform. I have experience creating workflows, harvesting technical lineage, and working with Data Governance along with data quality.

What is most valuable?

The workflows in Collibra Data Intelligence Platform are unique as no other Data Governance tool has this feature. The data quality functionality provides cutting-edge, next-level insights when compared to other tools such as Alation and Microsoft Purview. In governance, Collibra Data Intelligence Platform has an upper hand.

The mapping features in Collibra Data Intelligence Platform allow users to import and export Excel files. While importing Excel files, users can map to numerous assets. We can build relations using these imports and mappings, and obtain lineage information. Additionally, there is integration between Data Quality and the data intelligence platform, which enables another type of mapping.

The workflows in Collibra Data Intelligence Platform save substantial time by allowing us to create and assign tasks to business stewards and stakeholders. Instead of sending emails each day, we can create tasks that automatically generate notifications to streamline the process.

What needs improvement?

The main advantage of Purview is its integration with Microsoft solutions. Data can be harvested from any solution within Azure, data fabric, or other platforms easily with Purview. With Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, users need to create and establish connections, which requires entering connection details. This process is more time-consuming in Collibra Data Intelligence Platform compared to Purview, where everything can be done in minutes. Additionally, Purview includes data products, which Collibra Data Intelligence Platform is currently introducing. For stakeholders, data products are crucial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for three years, precisely two years and ten months. This July it will be three years. I started as a fresher in Data Governance and have been working in this field since the beginning.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not experienced any downtime or stability issues until now.

How are customer service and support?

I have not had any experience working with AI governance-related API. I am satisfied with their support team. I encountered some issues with data quality initially in Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, and they resolved those issues. I also faced challenges with establishing data quality rules in DQC aggregation files, which were resolved by the support team.

How was the initial setup?

There were no blockers during setup. It was straightforward to create workflows and deploy them into Collibra Data Intelligence Platform by following the documentation.

What other advice do I have?

Data quality in Collibra Data Intelligence Platform involves six dimensions: accuracy, completeness, integrity, and timeliness. The platform's Data Quality encompasses all these aspects.

Task completion time depends on the specific tasks in Collibra Data Intelligence Platform. For example, an approval task typically takes less than one hour.

Collibra Data Intelligence Platform introduced AI governance approximately two years ago. It features assessments that work in conjunction with AI governance, where users answer questions created by stakeholders or Data Owners.

the constant changes that needs configuration updates makes it unstable. The Data Governance side of things can be improved

Integration Capabilities: Collibra supports integration with modern database systems like Snowflake, Tableau and SQL Server, making it versatile for various data environments. We are focusing on maximizing its value to create a unified enterprise platform for the agency.
What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on the organization's size and needs, the pricing may be a consideration for some users. Also, minimum guidelines around edge installation on multi- cloud platforms.

Collibra Is Great… But…

What do you like best about the product?
Business Term, Metrics and Reporting Catalog. We can now house this info in one platform vs our previous way of keeping data in Excel, Sharepoint slides, multiple areas. Our business users are pleased with the fact that they can now have one place to search for reports vs asking other business users - was very time consuming.
What do you dislike about the product?
The technical lineage views and diagram views are very confusing for users. It’s hard to view the end to end because of how many nodes there may be.

Confusing for users to understand business lineage vs technical lineage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business units were struggling to find data and information. Collibra has helped by decreasing time between DG and business answering these questions since catalog is now available.

Developers would use metrics incorrectly because of different calculations but now have information available in Collibra on how and when to use metrics.

Users had to spend so much time searching for reports but can now search in catalog.

Lineage is helpful for developers when trying to understand source of information

What do you like best about the product?
The search capability. It is so nice having the capability of global search and being able to find exactly what I’m looking for. It saves so much time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data classification is not as sophisticated as I was led to believe. It appears to be column name and regex based. I thought it was more sophisticated and used AI to identify patterns, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We primarily use it to organize and classify all of our customer PII in support of our State Privacy (such as CCPA) programs.

Highly configurable tool. Create our own asset typesz their attributes and relationships.

The Edge ingest process is robust, and a quick way to bring in physical metadata from database and Bl platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's been a large turnover of contacts we deal with in a regular basis.

Access provisioning, and governance of our data asset estate

What do you like best about the product?
Centralized data governance: everything is consolidated in one place, which makes search, documentation, and traceability much easier.

Business glossary: extremely useful to align technical and business teams around a common language.

Customizable workflows: practical for managing validation steps and governance processes.

Integration with other tools (ETL, BI, technical catalogs, etc.): helps build a real ecosystem around data.

Customizable Metamodal: relationships between objects (datasets, reports, rules, policies, etc.): provides good visibility into the data value chain
What do you dislike about the product?
Apparent complexity in onboarding: significant improvements have been made with the new interface (the previous one was clearly outdated)

Configuration: extremely powerful, but can quickly become technical and somewhat rigid without expertise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I see Collibra as the enterprise-wide mega data catalog that brings together all glossaries and dictionaries, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, and full integration of the data quality layer.
