Globalization manager
What do you like best about the product?
CSM Jacob is very communicative and helpful, bridging between Legion and other parties. Also, they provide Lokalise academy to polish your skill, and excellent communication with good new product updates and roadmap reviews. So easy to work with every department.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. They implemented new features and continue integration so
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speed of translations and ability to roll out quicker. With new AI translations and LQA are working great.
Without Lokalise, translating to many languages would be impossible to manage
What do you like best about the product?
Lokalise have thought about how to support everyone in the process, from designers to copyeditors to compliance to developers and it really shows when you have the full process up and running. Once designs are ready in Figma, we can upload the text to Lokalise and then set tasks up for other teams to review. Once that is done, developers can pull the strings directly into the code.
The best part of the experience of working with Lokalise is that you can't break it. If you make a mistake, it's okay and generally easy to fix. Furthermore, the team at Lokalise are super-quick to reply with clear how2 and examples when you need to know how to do something. They even do introduction sessions with various teams in various languages for us!

What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a little while to learn to use the full breadth of functionality in Lokalise. The navigation is a little different and thus not always intuitive.
Once you have found your way around and you realise how powerful it is, it's great. I have been able to find my way around it with a brief introduction, access to their knowledge base, and quick responses from the Lokalise team when I have a question.

Lokalise has taken some time to set up. Now that it is in place, we're reaping the rewards in terms of efficiency.
We need to ensure consistency in tone of voice and structure of language across our web and mobile environments. Lokalise helps us to manage this and makes it even easier by providing custom tags. So, for example, we can tag all the button text and use that tag to check that buttons in all of our environments use a consistent language.
Without this system, we would be spending four times longer managing copy, tracking changes, asking people to review and attempting to communicate the changes to developers. All this in just one language and it would have been impossible to scale to multiple languages without Lokalise.
One of our first languages is Arabic and we're in a much better place now that we know we can create a different layout in Figma, and export the Arabic text back to Figma to check the flow and layout of that text in the designs. Imagine managing that process without Lokalise!

Great translation platform and responsive team!
What do you like best about the product?
- The UI is clean, simple, and modern while also being powerful
- The support team is incredibly responsive: they get back to you either immediately or within 24 hours
- From both a linguist and project management perspective, we can get work done for multiple translation workstreams with ease
- Having GitHub and Contentful integrations was essential for us as most of our content is housed in those two sources
- Their CSMs are top-knotch and super on top of it, always making sure to help resolve issues or offer additional calls
- Having no background in localization prior to using Lokalise, the team and product made it really easy for a newbie to quickly familiar with the tool and begin executing on projects

What do you dislike about the product?
- For large chunks of content that need to be translated, there's no way to put a cap limit on the word count per task. This was a requirement from our language vendor that involves a lot of manual work to manage and create each time we start translations for a new language.
- The Contentful integration leaves a lot to be desired. Once source strings are imported into Lokalise, there is no way to discern which strings are child entries of a parent entry. That relationship only exists upon import of source strings and export of translations. This makes it difficult to filter for all of the strings that would appear in a single Contentful entry. It's also not easy to tell what you're looking at in the Contentful integration UI since the column widths can't be adjusted.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Localizing our web, desktop, and mobile apps
- Localizing marketing content
- Localizing support and help content
We still have some content that is tricky to get into Lokalise for translation, but that is due to a limitation on our end. Besides that, it's great having everything centralized in a single source of truth!

Our reviewers find the experience "fun"!
What do you like best about the product?
We really enjoy the collaboration features such as commenting and procuring multiple reviewer inputs when reviewing a translation. It has set the stage for our entire translation and review process. Lokalise is fast, it was easy for our reviewers to learn, easy for our product managers to be able to connect to things like GitHub to pull and push.
What do you dislike about the product?
We don't "dislike" anything in our use so far. Everything works well, we are very happy with the service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company has a priority objective of internationalization with a first focus on Spanish speaking communities. Our developers initially were hand translating language in our growing web application using Google Translate and placing the language into keys in our language based .json files. There was no language review, and our Spanish speaking co-workers were finding language that didn't make sense. It also was a big lift for our developers to do this by hand.
By incorporating Lokalise into our workflow, our developers could build out the language files with the appropriate keys (which they needed to do anyway). The product manager pulls using GitHub when we are ready for a language review, and sets up a task, assigning it to one of our reviewers. Our reviewers jump in and make edits to Spanish, and discuss the English as well to make sure our language style guide is being followed. When done, the PM sends the changes back to the repository to be merged in.
It takes the majority of the lift off our developers and puts it into automation with Lokalise and Google Translate and offers the ability for a language review in both English and Spanish. This all ends in a better experience for our users, and checking off a major core objective for our organization that ultimately opens us up for a larger potential market and revenue base.
I'd say that's a lot of problems being solved, with huge opportunities we can realize faster and easier thanks to Lokalise.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
As you consider Lokalise, get all the team members that will be involved onto your onboarding calls with the Lokalise team. It allows them to see the process first hand, to generate buy-in and excitement for using the system to reach your goals, and allows them to ask questions they may have you haven't thought of. It makes the implementation and rollout much easier!
