Like Nothing Else
What do you like best about the product?
The platform and dashboard are user friendly and dare I say Dummy proof.
What do you dislike about the product?
The rules are very particular, not a bad thing just becomes a very specific task
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avanan Cloud Email Security gives businesses the opportunity to lock in and and maintain communication security like no other product on the market. Threats exist and with Avanan's Phishing awareness platform and shadow IT functions enterprises such as mine have a clear advantage as to what's going on in their realm. The bigger threat is the Inside and Avanan helps with that as well tracking email traffic and mitigating data leaks.

What do you like best about the product?
Great additional layer to the Office 365 spam filter. Catches what Office 365 misses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Alert can be overwhelming, but nothing you can't fine tune depending on your needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing the amount of SPAM and PHISHING emails that get through. Able to alert on logins to Office 365 outside of North America.
Avanan has dramatically simplified and secured our organizations communications.
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan provides a single pane of glass that has allowed us to dramtically increase awareness and security across our email, SharePoint, and OneDrive infrastructure while reducing administrative overhead. We're able to do in minutes a day, via their single pane of glass, what used to take multiple tools and hours per week to achieve.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the rare occaision (less than a handful of times in 2 years) when I've needed support I dont care for their (Jira) helpdesk replies. I have to go back into the support site peridically and look for the ticket owners repsonses because they don't come to my email. Please update this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since implementing Avanan, spam and malicious email that reaches end users inboxes is down by more than 95%. Gelocation tracking and reporting for O365 login events has allowed us to drastically reduce the hacking threats against those systems. Smart DLP has given us greater visilbilty, insgiht, and contorl of sensitive data flowing in and out of our platforms. And, Click-time protection vastly reduces threats from malicious links should they reach an end users inbox and be clicked.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Avanan has improved traffic visibility, reduced administrative overhead and increased security by virtually eliminating threats from ever reaching our users inboxes. It was one of the simplest product implmentations I've done in my 20 year IT career. But dont take my word for it; do what we did and try it. Implementing Avanan in our infrastructure took a few hours and we saw the benefits immediatley. And, you can run rules, or the entire prduct suite, in test mode and audit the result before it goes live in your production enviroment.
As a trainee in Security, AVANAN makes my life easier and more comfortable!
What do you like best about the product?
AVANAN really take the spam out of our emails. Very little, if any, get through! I feel relieved knowing our users are safe and my call volume regarding attacks have ceased to exist!
What do you dislike about the product?
Very seldom are emails misclassified. However, this is always going to happen!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AVANAN is limiting, or completely removing, all traces of SPAM in our user mailboxes. We are no longer under daily threats thanks to AVANAN.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't waste your time with Microsoft ATP.... just get AVANAN and obtain the relief you deserve!
Good Peace of Mind
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan allows us to quickly and easily look through quarantined items and process them. The interface is easy to understand and navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't think of anything specific that we ran into. It was sometimes frustrating to have to whitelist things in Avanan and in O365 but that probably had more to do with our setup of O365 than the Avanan product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving the issue of massive phishing campaigns. We have seen a noticeable drop in phishing emails getting through.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Quite frankly we decided to switch to the Mimecast platform for email security/archiving and it has been a better solution for our needs. The mimecast platform isn't as streamlined as Avanan but it has more functionality.
Avanan Email Security is Awesome!
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. Once it is setup, you don't have to make any changes. Just set it and enjoy seeing it block all of the phishing attempts to your users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! Everything about it is great. Ease of setup, ease of use, price. Support is fast to respond and help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our users were getting spammed with way too many emails trying to steal their credentials or install malware. Avanan blocks all of those emails. Haven't had an issue since we started using it. Edit: We were forced to cancel Avanan after being acquired by a larger company that didn't allow tenant wide applications to be installed. We immediately noticed an increase in phishing junk emails. So I can say that it definitely works and I'm very sad we can no longer use it.

If you are concerned with the amount of phishing emails your users are getting you should try Avanan.
Best in class and service
What do you like best about the product?
This solution fit our environment like a glove. We don't need to create our own rules and platform for this. We have many other projects and tasks that need to be done everyday.
What do you dislike about the product?
That is hard to say, we were on the platform over 2.5 years ago. All support issues (very few) were handles very well. They had some growing pains as this has become very popular.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avanan stops phishing and alerts on Malware on SharePoint and OneDrive as well. This is very automated and required little input or tweaking from us.
Easy to uses, it really stops phishing attempts.
What do you like best about the product?
The automation of the engines, practically an initial configuration is carried out and that's it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface does not work for mobile devices.

filtering the huge amount of phishing emails that we receive due to the industry model that we are.
Great Product. With a Great Interface!
What do you like best about the product?
The interface used for Avanan is one of the simplest to use out there. As well, has many features which even Office 365 lack on there own interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major feature that could still use some work would relate to users with multiple domains. It has a habit of detecting them as duplicates in Avanan and considering spam.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to reduce the amount of spam significantly. As well, using there External Login attempts we have been able to receive notifications when users are making attempts to login from Countries they should not be.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
API's do have a significant advantage as those who are making attempts to Phish on your domain are unable to tell the product currently in use.
Essential Email Protection
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent security, seamless integration with GSuite, Easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
Larger queries sometimes run slowly, but it has improved in later versions

Superior email protection over the basic GSuite tools. Great anti-phishing platform, greater visibility into email traffic,

Support is always a big factor in cloud service, and in this respect Avanan delivers. Whenever I have had an issue, they have always been responsive and helpful.
