What do you like best about the product?
I like that integrating Vanta agent; it flags all my users' machines that are out of policy. For example, I know when a user adjusts their 5 min lock screen display or does not have Filevault encrypted. The agent is super helpful in making sure everyone is up to policy
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't particularly appreciate how the Vanta UI constantly updates without being informed. Almost every month I log into Vanta, a new feature is pushed and sometimes I am unable to find things. This is really bothersome. Also, the Vanta Agent does not auto update on some machines. Many times machines would get flagged even though they are still compliant. I have to tell users to remove and then install the agent again. I never know when these updates happen and it slows my work down a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving a lot of issues with finding out what servers are close to missing SLA due to misconfigurations. I am also solving onboarding issues - Vanta for sure lets me know when a user has not downloaded the agent, accepted company policies, and have not completed security training. The onboard process for contractors has been helpful with using vanta as well! I was able to make sure contractors have their own checklist to complete.

Vanta: Making the Complicated, Simple
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta makes it extremely easy to understand the priority actions amongst a sea of compliance requirements. Due to the application's clarification of what the tasks are and when and how they need to be done, project managing the achievement of a compliance standard becomes ENJOYABLE, dare I say, and a breeze to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've found the application navigation a bit cumbersome and inefficient at times, but it's straightforward once you get the hang of it. Most importantly, the navigation has improved over time, evidence their product team listens to their users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta enabled our organization to achieve SOC 2 compliance without any experts in that area and do so very quickly. We had over 300 remote workers worldwide who needed to take SOC 2 compliance actions that, without Vanta, we would have never gotten our arms around it. We have just started HIPAA compliance with them, and we couldn't be happier. The tremendous amount of business we've been able to obtain due to our SOC 2 status and the ease with which we can now manage it has made Vanta worth every cent.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to achieve SOC II compliance, or other security/compliance standards, efficiently, quickly, and without headache, AND THEN manage them with total ease moving forward, get Vanta.
Great Platform for GRC management in Cloud Era
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta is an excellent platform for GRC compliance in the cloud era. It has perfect integration with almost all your cloud service providers, actively updating information from your HR, access control, infrastructure, SaaS vendors, monitoring SLA compliance, and gathering evidence management. It helps to prepare for the auditing preparation, has all evidence collected in one place in an organized manner according to the control. It saved us a lot of time and effort also cut down our engagement with Auditors by more than half.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing Really. If there is on thing, The PDF report exporting module could have been better to allow better customization. Maybe if it could be cheaper. Overall, we are very happy to be a vanta customer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOC2 and ISO compliance management. Significant saving of manual effort and improved productivity.

If you are looking for a cost effective auditor-friendly way to manage your GRC and have a lot of cloud resources to integrate with, Vanta should be your choice.

No real issues to not so far, Vanta is always very responsive to any issues we have had.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not only does Vanta give us SOC2 compliance-related information, but putting all of the services we use in AWS, and even discovered some services we were no longer using.

Vanta is a great tool that takes a lot of the manual effort out of things like asset inventory and cloud assets.
Exceptional product, more than exceptional support
What do you like best about the product?
Product support and customer satisfaction are worth every penny of the cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all, every aspect of the service is incredible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We significantly reduced the number of manhours and staff required to complete our certification.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The tool is fantastic, but beyond that, we had a problem with an auditor during the audit process, and the Vanta support team responded immediately and helped remediate the situation. That alone was worth every penny we have spent on Vanta.
Key resource for reducing mental overhead of compliance
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of monitoring is crucial; automating many tasks that would otherwise fall across many teams and individuals is great to get a crystal clear view of your organizations compliance state. The path to ramping up on new compliance objects is awesome as well, as it provides a great way to get stakeholders all across the org aligned.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the rules are a bit over-prescriptive and aren't super flexible. If you don't use a standard approach to some of the monitored compliance controls, it's hard to make that monitoring work for you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're working on multiple legislative compliance objectives. Vanta was crucial to keeping our team nimble while approaching compliance and organizing our growth journey.
Fantastic product
What do you like best about the product?
Everything. All the automated checks with remedy explanations when a test fails are fantastic. Keeps up SOC2 compliant so easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really nothing. The pricing for additional checklists is pretty steep though. Like we have SOC2 and ISO27001 is additional pricing and it's really high. Seems way too high.

Makes SOC2 Preparation Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta has been a great partner in preparing for and maintaining a security program for SOC 2 audits. The platform makes it very clear what you need to do in order to maintain compliance and prepare for audits with a lot of automation that connects to popular cloud apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is added costs for multiple security frameworks if you need something in addition to SOC 2.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOC 2 Type II audit preparation. We've been able to prepare for and facilitate a SOC 2 Type II audit out of the Vanta platform and find an auditor through Vanta's auditor partner network.

Continual improvement of the platform, with a focus on usability.

We've encountered some occasional bugginess when installing the Vanta Agent, but nothing highly problematic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using this to keep on top of SOC 2 controls. We're able to catch & address lapses quicker than we would otherwise.
Easy to use, much needed gathering place for compliance evidence!
What do you like best about the product?
I love how simple Vanta is. It's super easy to connect all necessary software to the integrations page, and it tells you how and where and why tests may be failing. You even get instructions on how to remediate them, depending on the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I wish would change about Vanta would be direct links to computer records in Jamf. Right now, when you click them, you're brought to the Jamf homepage and not the computer record. I also wish we could send Vanta alerts to a specified e-mail (i.e. a ticketing system or Slack channel) to be able to remediate issues ASAP.

We're working on evidence gathering for SOC 2 compliance. Vanta makes the evidence gathering process extremely simple. You connect your devices, Infrastructure, and HRIS, and Vanta tells you what you need to do from there.
