What do you like best about the product?
How fabulously easy and well thought out the product and services are to use even for novices and small startups. And the amazing customer service and support the Vanta team has provided The templates make sense. The bi-weekly support calls are keeping us on track. The seamlessness in which Vanta works and communicates not only with us but our auditors is impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Small nit but the security instructions and settings for Windows needs to be updated (the instructions are an old OS) ... and the requirement of a screensaver even if it will NEVER be utilized because the computer locks before a screensaver would ever be used. Also for policies we actually want to ensure staff have clicked on and read - make it possible to force that rather than just confirm that they received the policy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a small start up without any ability to hire fancy consultants to write policies, track policies, and conduct the audits. Not only have we received a discount from the auditors for using Vanta ... we have saved countless hours of staff time. Thank you!!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go all in ... and use/learn all its functionality. Do not try to use five different systems if Vanta can do it - let them. We gave up aold systems for some of our HR policies (non-security related) to make it easier.

The dashboard is a bit non-intuitive and can be confusing to understand what you are looking at

Ability to move away from Excel sheets in tracking security deliverables. Shift to automation from manual tasks

SOC2 Really Does Not Suck Thanks to Vanta!
What do you like best about the product?
The hands one interaction with our account manager. Automatic device compliance tracking. Easy-to-view statuses on flagged items.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly nothing so far. The system is super intuitive and has been a breeze to use, both for our internal security team and employees who complete trainings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to close specific types of contracts more quickly with the SOC2 compliant certification. Less heavy lifting for our tech team too!

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use software that just worked. Helpful CS counterpart walked us through the SOC2 process from inception to audit. We had a great experience end-to-end.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had a very positive experience. There was one native integration with our database that was not supported out of the box, though I'm told it's on the roadmap. The team helped us understand how to account for this in the audit.

SOC2 compliance automation. It was seamless to prepare for the audit and we saved many hours selecting auditors and collecting evidence with the automated test and integrations Vanta provides.

What do you like best about the product?
Vanta has helped our team become more on the ball with our compliance program implementation. The API integrations have been worked without issue and the connections have been very easy to setup.
The hardest thing about software like this is to become invisible and Vanta has managed to achieve that. Our account manager has done an exceptional job in helping us get into the platform and get the most out of it and has continued to spend an inordinate amount of time with us on our implementation.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are some weak points around integrating with existing internal trainings or workflows that are not a first-class API integration. This can mostly be solved with some incremental product updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Vanta to manage our compliance efforts for SOC2, HIPAA and ISO 27001. The ability to export the evidence in a structured manner has greatly reduced our teams' workload during audits.
Compliance peace of mind!
What do you like best about the product?
The automated tests provided by Vanta help us have an easy bird eye view over all our resources and concentrate all evidence in one place, providing peace of mind that everything is under control and enabling us to act when something is falling off the plate.
What do you dislike about the product?
No support (yet!) for automated push groups from the identity provider. This doesn't allow for a fully automated onboarding since we always have to go to Vanta to assign the user to the right group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of all compliance-related aspects that we need to keep under control. This saves us a lot of time (and money!) by relying on automated test alerts that avoid constant checks and reviews.
Excellent Product for SOC-2 Compliance Needs
What do you like best about the product?
The Product is designed well for SOC2 compliance, though it supports other compliance aspects too. The software guides through the SOC2 process excellently. One does not need to know all the processes involved for SOC2 compliance, and a novice user too can understand it easily. Every step in the system for Process documentation, People On-Boarding, Risk Assessment documents, there is a straightforward guide. There are predefined template documents that one can use to complete the intuitive compliance documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some security compliances are mandatory, but there should be a place to customize them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For a Startup Company, Vanta has helped immensely to complete the SOC2 compliance in a short period quickly.

What do you like best about the product?
Vanta adds an amazing layer of simplicity to getting to the various compliance standards that we needed to meet as a company. We reached SOC 2 Type II compliance a few years back without hiring a compliance team. A few people were able to use the task lists that Vanta provides as a way towards getting this done while also focusing on the other requirements of our positions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little that I dislike about Vanta. If I had to find something, I would say that occasionally product update emails seem to get lost in my daily task list item emails from Vanta, which leads to a bit of a shock when I log into Vanta.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have solved the issue of getting to SOC 2 Type II compliance and simplifying the annual audit process without the need for a compliance team but rather adding a marginal amount of work to others.
