Solid data discovery & catalog tool
What do you like best about the product?
The tool provided us a single source of truth for our metrics and created a culture of documentation in our team. On top of that, we get an holistic overview of the dependencies between the tables/dashboards and know how each change could impact downstream/upstream models.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. The only thing I could mention is that we don't have visibility on our data quality processes. The number of tests that failed/succeded over time for example?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving visbility on our data model, what our metrics mean, what dependencies do we have in our dashboards, what are the upstream/downstream data models in our DAG

Finally have visibility into data
What do you like best about the product?
Castor connects all of our meta data which previously lived in awhole bunch of different tools - I really like that no matter where documentation lives , anyone is able to view when they log in. We especially love Lineage
What do you dislike about the product?
WE're waiting on a couple of integrations, but overall the team has been super responsive and clear about what is on the road map - no real complaints from our end

What do you like best about the product?
I like the custom relationship i have with the support team. They managed to solve my problems fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
They did not want to connect to our on-premise database. I understand that they have a focus on cloud solutions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is hard to know what the business means by certain KPI & metrics.
Castor is a life saver
What do you like best about the product?
Castor is saving me a lot of time and money. It's like adding another team to your company that is responsible for one of the most important task when growing your database: documentation. This is a life saver, especially for team with a high turnover, its very easy to pick up the database knowledge for new joiners and person not familiar with what another team is doing. It increase a lot the efficiency of going over data. I recommend and the Castor team is amazing!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! Castor is really working great so I dont have a negative comment so far. I hope they continue to deliver the same way!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping to sove documentation and ease of accessing the right information as fast as possible.

What do you like best about the product?
Navigating data is very complex, and one mistake can cost a lot (time, wrong decision, etc.), not to mention onboarding time or efficiency gains. Castor is exactly solving those issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a dislike per se, but there are maybe some opportunities with LLMs (like GPT) to help people document in a more automated manner. Querying data directly into Castor would be amazing too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowing what data is what, where does it come from, how people use it - basically making data live within the organisation can be very tricky and this is exactly what Castor aims to solve.
The perfect Data Catalog
What do you like best about the product?
With castor, all the teams using the data platform are completely autonomous. Everything is automated, and we had build a self-service BI tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
No real downside, it was easy to setup and everything is automated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Castor, we had manual documentation created that was obsolete as soon as it was published. Now, we no more lose time, but we gain it instead.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I was creating my ML models, I needed to understand clearly all the features I was putting in. Castor really helped me design a better ML model in seconds.
Castor is the best way to understand the data for managers without an engineer background
What do you like best about the product?
Data should be easily accessible and understandable for all the managers in a company to help them make decision, even if managers don't always have an engineering profile. Thanks to Castor, it is now very easy to leverage the data to make my decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, Castor is very easy to use and is now part of my decision process when I build the strategy for my team. As mentioned above, I really like that this platform is also build to help non-tech managers to understand data.

Data can be a tricky topic for mangers with non engineering background. However, data is one of the pillars to build a successfully strategy. Castor is the best way to find and use the data.
