Reliable, affordable and simple
What do you like best about the product?
Hevo has the same ease of use and array of sources as Fivetran, but at a fraction of the cost.
Implementing a change data capture feature would take them to the next level, but the existing product is excellent and priced comparably to the far inferior Stitch.
Connectors are easy to set up, and almost all of them use OAuth2 to authenticate, rather than having to give the data team admin access to every marketing tool so that they can generate API tokens etc (cf. Airbyte).
Overall, you're not going to find a cheaper tool that saves more time than this. You even get an interface to build custom connectors if Hevo are missing any, so there won't be any gaps.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few minor gripes with Hevo, but these don't detract from the product:
1. Rather than pricing on rows, the pricing is based on 'events', which include any updates to rows after their initial insert. This makes volume a lot harder to predict, and can lead to some nasty surprises if tables get updated regularly. However, Hevo are happy to give out free events if an unexpected glut of events happens, and historical loads are all free.
2. Destinations aren't very configurable. Usually, ETL tools are used to load data from a variety of sources into a single database, and ideally you'd put each source (e.g. AppsFlyer, Facebook Ads, Postgres RDS) in its own schema. In Hevo, each destination uses only one schema, so the only way you can do this is by configuring a new destination for each schema, copy-pasting the same DB credentials into the UI over and over again. This doesn't take that long, but is an unnecessary initial overhead.
3. There are a few sources we'd like to see that aren't currently represented: Snapchat, Pinterest, Chargebee. These integrations will hopefully come about soon, and in the meantime, Hevo provides an interface for setting up custom API connectors, so there are other ways of proceeding.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're migrating data from our application database into Redshift, as well as unifying all of our marketing data there via the connectors Hevo offers. We've been able to automate many marketing processes via Hevo.
Very simple to replicate, transform and load data from/into multiple sources/destinations
What do you like best about the product?
- The simplicity of the product
- The multiple sources/destinations to work from
- The ability to use SQL to transform data
- The free trial which allows me to stress-test the product

What do you dislike about the product?
Small improvement area, I would like to load data from a single source into a Bigquery dataset and then use that dataset to model a second set of tables to load in a different BQ dataset. From what I've seen it seems only possible to use models into the same dataset.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm replicating my primary database into a warehouse accessible from teams, and I'm also doing first-off transformations to accelerate the work of our analytics teams.
Easy to sse at a friendly price
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity, good support, quite a lot of connectors, fair pricing and also good status updates emails , good debugging process. Tanformations fairly easy to understand and can be done automatically instead of coded. Support also needs a big shoutut
What do you dislike about the product?
The automatic transformation tool can take a bit of getting used to; you're most likely to shy away from it. Simple tasks like mass column renaming aren't possible, so you rely on python for that. It's a good feature but needs work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Get the data I need, in the format I need, to analyze the information I need in the warehouses I use. Pretty much the unified ETL process at an exceptionally budget-friendly option. The problems solved are using data in business solving applications like BI, ML, and Front-End development
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at the cost-benefit analysis, there are many similar products at a higher price, but many use open-source connectors. Keep that in mind when using ETL software such as this. Also, many connectors and sources won't be of much use, so I chose a fit-for-purpose tool. I found Hevo to be that in my case.
Refusal to work with education space
What do you like best about the product?
The product at least looks promising from the website.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unable to sign up for the service as they refuse to allow .edu addresses. As a higher education institution, we must use our official work addresses, but their sign-up tool will refuse to let us do so, their support will not work around the issue, and point-blank refuse us to sign up. Any billing and invoicing would also require .edu addresses. It is almost unfathomable that this would be the case, but it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to tighten integration between Salesforce, Redshift, MySQL as well as LinkedIn and Facebook Ads
I have been using Hevo for a couple of months now and I can say my experience has been really good.
What do you like best about the product?
The live chat service they provide is amazing. The response time to our queries is real quick. Overall I am happy with the product and the features it offers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ingestion time of data pipelines is sometimes much more than stated in the pipeline(mainly for updations in existing records).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Hevo, all our data sources can be handled and managed in one place. Hevo offers a variety of data sources and they keep on adding new sources with every update, so that's a Yay!
Hevo Data gets your data moving from source to destination quickly and efficiently
What do you like best about the product?
The UI is a pleasure to use; not only it looks great on-screen, but it is also very intuitive to use. The documentation is very comprehensive and a great reference to get you started with Hevo. The support team is always eager to help and has a swift first response time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pipeline schedules could be more granular: e.g., choosing specific days/times of the week instead using time intervals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to collect data from dozens of sources and load them into our data warehouse. Hevo allows us to save many hours of tedious manual CSV downloads by fetching data from these sources and running our pipelines automatically.
Great product. Ease of use and UI is fantastic. Excellent value for functionality
What do you like best about the product?
Hooked up multiple RDS databases to Redshift in an hour. Great set of native connections.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have to fiddle with some of the tables that do not have the correct key structure, but that's more of an issue of design nothing on Hevo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating datalike for analytics.
Quick creation of the lake from multiple sources.

How Hevo advanced features, incredible customer support made it win against their competitors
What do you like best about the product?
We did a PoC of Hevo against other tools in the same space (Fivetran, Stitch, etc.).
Hevo won regarding pricing, customer support, and advanced features such as append-only, low latency, and reverse ETL use cases.
Hevo won regarding pricing, customer support, and advanced features such as append-only, low latency, and reverse ETL use cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if they had more connectors, although they are pretty receptive to feedback, and they are currently in the process of adopting the ones we requested.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the use-case where we need to handle historical data, create slowly changing dimensions, and capture data changes in a window as low as 15 minutes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it! It will be worth it
Dead simple database replication
What do you like best about the product?
Hevo's interface is simple to use, while powerful at the same time. From our tests so far the pipelines work reliably and performantly, and the transformation tools (offered both in a visual manner or through custom Python code for more advanced workflows) are quite useful.
The customer experience and support provided is great.
The customer experience and support provided is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I seem to be unable to apply new transformation rules retroactively. That would be an important feature to us as sometimes new fields need to be masked or hidden but were already ingested into the destination.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Replicating our DynamoDB database to Redshift so we can integrate with BI tools such as Metabase. Also applying transformation rules to mask and drop sensitive fields before ingesting them to our analysis tools.
Hevo is a one stop shop for real (or near real) time data migration
What do you like best about the product?
Data migration is made simple and intuitive without having to write one line of code.
Sometimes code is necessary for data transformation and modeling, which is made easy with built-in Python and SQL code editors.
Sometimes code is necessary for data transformation and modeling, which is made easy with built-in Python and SQL code editors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Events are counted multiple times within the migration pipeline which can drive costs up really quickly. Also, the lack of a robust primary key generator for migration of Google Sheets data necessitates extra SQL modeling or Python coding to self-generate pk's.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As stated in the title of this review, HEVO has given my team a one-stop-shop solution for migrating data from various and varied sources easily with little maintenance overhead.
