Review for Nexus Repository
What do you like best about the product?
Nexus has been very much useful for storing local snapshots for docker images, libraries and war files. This provides the feature of getting repositories from local or public repositories by configuration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuring nexus with Docker will have challenges in restoring the snapshots during critical failures. Also need to do whole configurations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nexus is serving as a local repository to get libraries, snapshots and save docker images for the services and UI. Also we are storing node modules developed internally.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nexus is artifacts repository , we can store different version of artifacts in it which can be distributed to different environment for deployment
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Nexus Repository Manager is recommended to store artifacts and maintain its version

Nexus Repository
What do you like best about the product?
Nexus provides in-house repository instead of using maven or any other central libraries. This provides security to project-specific libraries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Internal blob configurations while cleaning up the repositories.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using nexus as a local repository to save libraries instead of depending on libraries from the internet. We can use intranet to update project and doesn't need to depend on internet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Nexus is recommended to use as a repository for Java libraries, Node modules, and docker images.
Very likely to recommend Nexus Repo
What do you like best about the product?
I have used Nexus Repository Manager along side with Jenkins. The integration with Jenkins is very easy and having multiple versions of JARs in a project gets easier to manage with Nexus.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing as such to dislike. I have come across an issue where in case of same version, JAR files gets replaced and there's nothing to get back the original one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nexus Repository Manager is mostly used in case of Microservices project. Where you have multiple dependencies in a project with multiple versions. NRM handles this scenario very well. We can use the dependencies from Cloud itself.
Nexus Repository Manager - Best Platform for storing and sharing software versions between teams
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing I like about Nexus Repository Manager is that the version uploads are tracked transparently and provide details like the version number, file size, uploader, and usage information. Being from the Product team at ZS, I (or anyone else from the team) can download the latest versions uploaded by the Engineering team for UAT with only a couple of clicks, which is really desirable. It helps reduce the communication requirements between the Engineering, Testing, and Product teams significantly,
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing in particular that I like about Nexus Repository Manager. Still, I would like to suggest some enhancements to the Repository Manager. A feature should be added to insert comments by different team members regarding the versions (in case there are bugs in the versions shared), and then these could be transparently viewed by all the members of the team. This would further help in reducing communication requirements within the team
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being from the Product team at ZS, I use Nexus Repository Manager to download the versions of the utilities uploaded by the Engineering team on the platform for UAT. I download these versions on my Local system, perform UAT on these, and share feedback with the Engineering team for required enhancements and/or bug fixes. In case of my absence, anyone else from my team can easily download the required version from Nexus and perform the UAT!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend every Software team to use Nexus Repository Manager for version control. It helps understand the latest versions, the person who uploaded it, and also helps multiple people download the software simultaneously. Definitely one of the best code repositories to use!
The only repository you might need for private software development
What do you like best about the product?
This repository is the most straightforward to use storage for package distribution. It has clean management interface out of the box that covers the most known aspects for the distribution of libraries and other types in a confidential manner. It has anything you may need and is very easy to configure. The installation department has a bit techie way (in windows almost), but surprisingly stable and easy to configure and keep running.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes or somewhat, the web interface is slower than you might expect. Still, when it's fully loaded, the management is pretty straightforward. Some descriptions are a bit confusing, but with a good lecture on the documentation, all questions are gone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nexus has been our primary distribution platform for all our developers, allowing us to reduce the time spent on technical issues attached to security and the need for administration at a low cost of ownership. Our deployment and compile requirements are fully satisfied in no time!, letting us forget about the infrastructure and focus on solutions
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For all software development companies looking for a private solution for a library repository, this is a must. It mixes all kinds of standard repositories that any developer can use or need. Its simplicity is a welcome feature that an administrator will appreciate. And from the developer side, it is a joy that its integration is seemingly straight.
A one-stop tool for all your component management woes
What do you like best about the product?
Nexus Repo Manager is an excellent tool for storing & distributing your binaries and artifacts across the globe among product teams located at multiple geographies.
The tagging & Staging feature of Nexus is bliss for a completely automated pipeline.
Fetching third-party dependencies in a secure environment is a great plus.
Support for a vast number of repository formats.
Also, the caching feature makes the builds faster & optimizes the build process.
If Nexus is hosted on AWS , then we can directly attach the repository storage to an S3 Bucket.
Its v easy to utilize Nexus IQ server along with Nexus Repo Manager, which is a great tool to examine threats in third party dependencies in code binaries.

What do you like best about the product?
Sonatype nexus OSS provides a robust and highly flexible artifact management solution. It does the job really well, has a good management interface, solid community and good documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
some of the less-common repository types being used have some rough edges, as do some of the less standard storage methods (e.g. s3). it is important to stress that for the most part these are relatively minor and alternative workarounds exist.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sonatype nexus OSS solves the problem of artifact management and retrieval as part of CI/CD pipelines as well as gatekeeping the introduction and integrity of external dependency packages to production systems and developer systems alike.
another useful feature is to accelerate the setup of local environments with a controlled release mirror.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a good solution and I recommend it wholeheartedly, but if your workflow requires less commonly used repository types, you should evaluate the product first to make sure there are no bugs implicating your use case.
