Drata - Review after a few months using the tool

  • November 08, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Automatic evidence collection, friendly user interface, ease of onboarding and implementation
What do you dislike about the product?
My organization is still fairly new to using Drata, so not a ton of downsides have been discovered yet. That said, we were excited to use the Trust Center to surface various documentation to customers. It seems tha tthe Trust Center still needs to mature a bit, as you are limited types of documentation can be surfaced there and simple features, such as the order that documents appear, are not in place yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my role, Drata is primarly benefiting (as of now) my team in audit readiness and preparation. We are just kicking off our annual SOC 2 audit and the ease of use compared to our last tool really stands out.

Game-changer for compliance automation

  • November 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Drata breaks down the compliance process, even making it easier to work towards multiple frameworks at once by helping to consolidate controls and deliverables into a neat and comprehensible format. Additionally, the automation tools available to help achieve compliance, such as various device and account monitoring, is invualuable to actually achieving the work required to meet controls. They offer clean integrations with a wide swath of common SaaS tools. One key benefit here for us has been their integration with Jira, which we use to both create tickets related to compliance, as well as read tickets in order to automate compliance into processes such as employee offboarding. Their team is very helpful as well, ensuring we're setup for success.
What do you dislike about the product?
Downsides are minimal. Custom fields could be useful though for assets such as personnel and hardware.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Drata is solving compliance for us. Reaching our compliance goals as an SMB would be monumentally more difficult without the Drata platform and team to help us work towards our goals in a way in which they are clearly presented to us, and in a platform where we can document progress and evidence neatly.

What do you like best about the product?
The product is very good and helps in the management of certifications.
Also, the Customer Success people are very hard working and close to the customer along with their fast and efficient support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Probably its weak point is the management of roles within the platform as they are predefined and not very granular.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Drata is helping us a lot in the management of certifications, internal policies and forensic testing of equipment.

Drata and SaaS

  • November 04, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Drata provides a supportive and personalized compliance experience. Their "white-glove" approach includes proactive support, tailored onboarding, and continuous monitoring, ensuring customers feel comfortable and confident in their compliance posture.
What do you dislike about the product?
Drata is still growing and with this growth comes challenges. The Drata Team is working vigorously to ensure they remain competitive through taking into consideration their customer's needs and working to expeditite new features that will bring value to the platform. With this, there are a few growing pains such as bugs however Drata steps up to the plate to help alleviate these wrinkles personally with their customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralizing compliance management and mapping across multiple different frameworks.

Zero Regrets

What do you like best about the product?
I love that they have taken something hard, expensive, and abstract and made it attainable for small SaaS companies like ours. The ROI is outrageous and it has quite literally made us a far better company as a result.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a good bit of time to get up to speed with how it works and how you will work with it to drive toward your audit. That said, it is time well spent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to get a SOC 2 Type 2 in an affordable, practical, and authentic way. Drata has lived up to what we hoped it would be and, once our audit is done, we believe it will help us progress from green light to signed contract much faster.

What do you like best about the product?
Our service representative has been so patient and informative during the process of setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
The process is complicated, but I don't believe that's a Drata issue. It's just the world of cybersecurity and compliance. I feel like Drata has the tools required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing our policies and controls.

Compliance automation made easy.

  • October 29, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The implementation service offered was great. 30 days handheld through the process with experienced users. Support is always fast and incredibly helpful. SSO worked really well and it integrated with the majority of our tech stack. Most of my team are able to navigate their way around it easily. For me, its easy to use and has become an unconscious standard practice to use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Quite a bit of the products newer useful features don't support our versioning control i.e. 'compliance as code' and gitlab.
A lot of newer features released, i.e., risk management and trust centre pro are rather costly addons and during the procurement process, we weren't made aware of this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Evidence gathering is largely automated with helpful reminders for the less automated bits. It is a single pain of glass for our various standards and their controls.
