Very useful platform and helpful customer service!
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the map features and the possibility to see alerts in real-time when they pop on the map, as well as the possibility to receive alerts via email/pop-up for those times when you can't keep looking at the screen on Dataminr.
I also really like the support that our point of contact provides, he responds really quickly and is always helpful!

What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is well built and user-friendly. The only thing I would like to see implemented is an "expiration date" to custom lists. Additionally, sometimes a lot of noise comes through, especially in countries like Iraq/Turkey where a lot of things happen at once, so perhaps it would be useful to have more levels and not only ALERT, URGENT, FLASH.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dataminr daily to track issues that may arise around a Premiere or Music Event/Screening and that could endanger our employees and attendees, as well as crew members and journalists reporting from dangerous places. I also use it to track COVID-19 Developments and changes in various countries to inform updates on whether our employees can go back to working in the office.
Great tool with potential to go beyond real-time monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
The tool's ability to detect noises very quickly and the possibility for users to create their own tailor-made strategic lists with the historica references tab.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I personally dislike, however the tool could be improved for long-term strategic monitoring. The translation function on the historical references tab, heatmaps, and area analysis functions could be improved too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am trying to improve the functions available by re-adapting the tool from real-time monitoring to long-term strategic monitoring. The tool has so far increase our performance.

What do you dislike about the product?
- inability to see the lexicon of searches
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None at the moment, but look forward to future demos and advanced training modules.
Functional
What do you like best about the product?
Data sources and translation of sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unable to give feedback/corrections on individual posts. E.g. saw post that misidentified a Bmp-3 as a tank (which it was not in the original source), and was unable to say to dataminr that was wrong.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Breaking news and threats. Horizon scanning. Reducing time in searching compared to manual searches.
Good situational awareness
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy finding out about events that could impact me at work or in my personal life.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel that the things I dislike have nothing to do with Dataminr, more with the people that are posting stuff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me with real-life updates on wildfire activity.
Great product with great support services
What do you like best about the product?
Working in a dynamic threat environment this product is important as an early warning system
What do you dislike about the product?
Awaiting the mapping support configuration
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Threat environment risk management
Expanding resources
What do you like best about the product?
I like how useful it is to get notifications on one platform. Additionally, first responder data sources are very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a need for better localization, integration with other OSINT tools (in case we need to check the source further) and expansion of the sources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Risk management. So far most of the issues have been dealt with by other OSINT tools, but general coverage is quite ok with this platform.
User experience
What do you like best about the product?
Some of the alerts are pertinent, especially the twitter feed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is cluttered, confusing and not user friendly. The emails generated from the alerts are INSANE. I have alerts going to my work email as well as the GSOC mailer. I prefer VCC and would suggest a change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I just don't like it.
Experience using Dataminr
What do you like best about the product?
The use of topic to define alerts and the historical references to identify tendences
What do you dislike about the product?
In pulse it´s not possible view alerts in a map with an icon by type of topic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No much, the more relevant issue I have finally I find an alternative by myself
Manager, The Intelligence Group
What do you like best about the product?
My customer success team (Desiree Smith and Julia Lasko) are consistently professional and responsive whenever needed to connect and discuss product features and use cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to the nature of my workflow, I wish there was a way to contribute feedback to specific alerts directly within the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to receive early, actionable alerts related to physical security that helps us protect our clients.
