Wix - Fast, East, Reliable Websites
What do you like best about the product?
There are a few sites available for budding website creators and i try them all, however there are a few reasons i keep going back to Wix. Their drag and drop features make building a website as easy as can be. There are hundreds of templates to get you started which makes it a less daunting task than starting with a blank page. Remember if there isn't a template that fits perfectly, it can be changed at your will.You can toggle between Full site and mobile view to make sure your site is optimized when viewing on a smart phone. They have various third party "plug ins" for calendars, restaurants, some free some for a small fee. You can also easily set up your domain through them along with Google email.
What do you dislike about the product?
One draw back is (as far as i can tell) no facility to allow people to click directly from a telephone number from the mobile view and call the company. Small setback, but still significant enough that you'd expect the designers to update this soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wix gives us the power to create and manage our website in house, with significant savings versus outsourcing to a third party. We can update details on the spot

If you are trying to create a website on a budget or manage your site in house without outsourcing to often expensive third parties then i highly recommend.

What do you like best about the product?
By far the flexibility of the product gives those who are not extremely tech savvy the ability to set up a website that has quite a bit of function. Because many of the features are free at their starter level, one can create and host quite a bit of content before needing to upgrade, which helps a new user to really see all that Wix has to offer.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, the fact that it is not responsive on mobile yet is my biggest problem with Wix, but I hear it is a situation that might be solved soon so it's not a deal breaker for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wix has solved the problem of my needing a presence on the net that really showcases my personality. To me, the templates are just an outline for what I'm able to create, and that gives the benefit of creative freedom. I've realized the benefit of expanding my exposure and reach to fans of my writing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If the thought of having to figure out a layout and SEO and the like is a daunting thought keeping you away from your own website, Wix is now bringing out ADI which is an element in their program to allow their computers to create a starter site for you using what the computer can find about your business online. It couldn't be easier! The customer service has always been extremely professional to me and has helped me through any issues I had. And I just can't stress enough the flexibility of every template, from color schemes to customizing the size and layout of every element you want to add.

How anyone can create a fast and easy website. Great tool for startups, every enterpreneur should know this solution exists. I can also testify that Wix is always developing new features, so you can create the most robust product possible.

Maybe there could be a premium plan in which a professional designer can create a website for you.

Wix is great for anyone who wants to generate a professional-looking website (online and mobile). It's templates make building the site very intuitive. Start out slowly and keep it simple, perhaps with a landing page to begin.

The designs they offer are clean and neat and I like that they ategorize by industry.

The software is tedious to use compared to others. It seems like you have to jump through hoops to get designs altered.

What do you like best about the product?
Wix is so easy to use! The site is intuitive and user-friendly. I like that Wix allowed me to create a unique website that fits my personality and brand. I like that there are templates that I can choose from and then customize to create the look I want that best represents me. The ability to use pictures, audio and video to further customize the experience for visitors to my site is so valuable. It is quick and easy to make updates to my page for new news, photos or videos. And it is so affordable! I am able to get a quality site for a fraction of the price of hiring a web designer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! I like everything about my experience with Wix and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs an affordable way to build a custom website.

I work in the performing arts and it is important to have a website that accurately reflects your personality. By creating my own site, I was able to get my name and face out there and have gotten several jobs from visits to my site alone!

1. cost of domain - the cost of buying domain is relatively higher compared to other options
2. themes - I think they can add more options in the themes
3. analytics integration -the integration with Google analytics is there, but not very easy to use and intuitive for non-tech users

1. You can try it out for sure. If it doesn't serve your purpose, you can deactivate your account anytime

Wix is great for independent workers!
What do you like best about the product?
Wix offers a wide variety of customizations in their website templates. You can add animations to text as well as different third party applications. If you chose to sign up for the free version only, there will only be a few Wix ads on your site, similar to other competitors. The layout is clean and I have had no issues teaching some clients how to use Wix.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you want to put a blog on your Wix site, you may be short out of luck. You can't optimize the blog for SEO or customize certain aspects of it. For people using Wix for other purposes, this con can be avoided.

When creating a website for a client, Wix offers a fast and easy way to design a template. It is great for modeling potential layouts and creating a crisp-looking design.

Wix frequently adds new tools and 3rd party applications on a regular basis. Check back frequently to see if something you are looking for is added!

Very handy and easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to use, has great design templates and at the same time very powerful in its feature set. I've put together 5 sites using Wix and for smaller, uncomplicated sites it's a dream to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes get a little confusing to know where you are and how to get back to where you were but no worse than other SaaS tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speed, ease of use. And all at a very good price. Three of the five sites I've done would have been VERY hard and expensive to do in other ways

Don't be afraid to have a play around. And finish building your site before you start setting up the DNS records etc as it's fiddly to change after the fact
