Great starter website
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can do it myself, easily and effectively
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be glitchy and sometimes hard to manuever. I have found it hard to figure some things out in the past, where certain buttons live, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a website for my business, so that is a pretty big issue solved! :-)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have patience while learning the new system. It is easy, but you need to put in the time to learn it first. Check out all the apps too, there might be something in there that will really help you!
Wix web builder
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and affordability. The setup makes changes and implementing new formats an easy process compared to the original methods of web page building.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of unique content and navigation options, would love to see a higher form of maintaining seo more effectively. Also as a note it would be amazing if I could better organize the web pages I would like to easily create and direct click capturing landing pages to entice more online participation for potential accounts.

Very easy, point and click, straightforward layout, offers plenty of design templates, and affordable
What do you dislike about the product?
Some layout configurations could not be aligned properly, the default fonts had to be continually changed and would save--some minor kinks to work out

made a website for a one-time conference, with a portal for registration. Easy and effective and did not require learning Drupal.

Great place for starters, those with more experience probably don't need all of its features

What do you like best about the product?
There were many options for templates which made the website design process very easy. There is no need to have any HTML experience. The templates make building a website simple and appealing to the eye. I also liked that you were able to customize the website to your personal style, so even if you are using the same template as another user, your website can look completely different.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't really anything that sticks out to me that I disliked about this product. With everyone new product, you do need to take time to learn how to use all of the tools available, but once you get used to the layout and the system it is simple to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It was an easy way to launch a portfolio that can be reached by many audiences for no cost (besides the time I spent building the site).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is best to have a plan of how you would like your website to flow before you start to build. Plan out using a storyboard and determine how you would like information chunked within your site. Having a plan before you start with a blank webpage will make your project go along much smoother and with better direction.

What do you like best about the product?
Great website building tool for beginners. Wix is extremely user-friendly and easily learned by oneself. You can create a pretty powerful website using Wix (especially being that it is free).
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really have a problem with anything other than I wish it offered a better transactional method to sell besides PayPal links.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using this for my personal business creating awareness about my products by educating end-users on the benefits of all-natural beauty.

I highly recommend Wix for creating blog pages, landing pages, and even personal/company websites!

The built in templates and photographs and graphics to choose from.

The slowness sometimes and needing to double click to get things to work. I feel like older folks would get frustrated fast with this system.

This offers free websites which solves the problem if needing to pay for every little thing. You can launch the site and pay later, which is great for designers to show their clients first.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wix is beautiful, simple, and their free option doesn't blow you up with a million ads. Just small ads that don't get in the way. The websites look expensive.
Easy to use but lacks some functions

The software is very user friendly. I was able to quickly build a beautiful website and can easily make changes which I love.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can still tell that it is a homegrown website and not put together by professionals. The website is also very slow.

We are able to have a more professional webpresence. We are also able to collect our site visitors and send our newsletters all in one place.
Used to develop personal wedding website
What do you like best about the product?
Wix is a free resource for developing a website. It is great as an alternative to WordPress and gives you the open to build a website from the ground up while deviating for the blog-centric approach that you usually feel when developing a WordPress site (especially when designing one that's free). You have the option to buy domains and select themes like WordPress, too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I ran into so many glitches and frustrations when developing our wedding website. It seemed like changing one aspect of the theme/format or even adding text in one area altered other aspects of the site that I didn't want changed. I also felt limited to the number of customization options (I felt a little boxed in) which is the reason i went with wix vs. wordpress in the first place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i was able to develop a wedding website for free while getting a little bit of web development experience in my free time. Overall, it was a good introduction to using Wix as a WordPress alternative and because I was using it for a non-work purpose it was a objective point of reference for any recommendations or choices I make professionally.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You really have to consider what you hope to get out of your website when picking a development platform. If you really just need something to be a website to prove you're real and provide some basic information about your business, you might consider Wix because it gives you a real-time development, instant gratification element that is slightly put off when developing with WordPress. If you are looking for a more professional, polished and high performing site (with better technical and support resources) maybe skip Wix for an alternative.
