Very Easy to use Platform for Basic Sites

  • July 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Plug in integrations, easy drag and drop editing. Does produce beautiful sites easily from a template that you can quite readily edit and customize. Lots of standard add in items readily available. Very reasonable cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are at all savvy, you will outstrip it's capabilities quickly. Limited customization of certain add-on items can be frustrating. Limited capability to integrate any level of sophisticated tracking code (for example, the bookings module cannot run the google adwords conversion script)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Small business website with online scheduling. Much easier to use than the prior all in one product I was ussing,.

What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how some features are not super customizable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I get to put all of my professional portfolio items in one simple place for potential employers to look at.

Perfect website for a small publisher

  • July 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My website looks professional but took me almost no time to make. It has everything I need and is cheap to connect a domain.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that Wordpress allows you to do that are either harder or less functional on Wix, but they're not things I need to be able to do (like logins)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The need for a business website without taking a ton of time to make it (or paying someone money I don't have)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a few minutes to get used to the system, then it'll be a breeze.

Made portfolio website on Wix

  • July 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Wix is very easy to use for entering content. It's easy to whip up blog posts, or create a resume/portfolio. The UI is easy to use, and it's very simple to use your own domain.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to complete some specific actions on Wix, like an overlay portfolio where you can scroll through images, and then exit and return to the existing page. I also found it difficult to display PDFs in a gallery format. Also, their pricing is subscription-based, so if you intend on using your site long-term, it may be more financially feasible to hire a developer/team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wix helped me create a personal portfolio website and market my personal brand. It allows you to attribute a theme that resonates with you personally, so you can express yourself to the fullest extent.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend using a theme, and going through Wix tutorials so you get the most out of your subscription/experience.

Actual Ease of Design without the Gimmicks

  • July 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Unlike Wordpress, where nothing is particularly visually stunning and building a good website requires some substantial design and programming skills (which thus begs the question why use the site at all), Wix actually provides the drag-and-drop ease of use to build a webpage from template or scratch. Even better, unlike it's more direct rival, Squarespace, it doesn't give you 14 days and then require you to pay. You always have the option of maintaining a free website (albeit without a proper domain name but that depends on what your goals are for the site itself).
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing structure could be clearer, I was, for example, not really clear on the fact that I have to pay a monthly fee to have a level where I can have a domain I purchase, but it doesn't include the domain itself, that has to be purchased separately. I would much rather have the entire cost summarized and collected in a single process. As it is currently set up, I have to enter my card information and purchase the monthly plan and the domain separately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By allowing me to create a website easily, it eliminates the need to either pay someone to do it for me, or to restrict me to a painfully basic website which wouldn't generate any traffic. It provides the interface to manage a blog or many other features within the website and even lets me manage it on the go with a mobile app. It's allowed me to expand my journalistic presence outside of social media.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking to create an attractive website that doesn't require bespoke programming, Wix is the best option. Some of the templates aren't quite as stunning as Squarespace but functionality is more intuitive and the options are far greater. It gives your site the chance to standout as it's own product. The catch 22 of a Squarespace site is that everyone recognizes it immediately as a Squarespace powered website and that diminishes your brand as you try to develop it.

Wix is for anyone

  • July 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Which has an interface easy enough for anybody who knows nothing about websites to still create a beautiful website.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me it can be too basic but using the code boxes allows me to add in complexities
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solved the need to have an easy wysiwyg website. The other designers with no Web experience are able to edit it when I am unavailable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
locate a template you like before beginning
