ANYONE can build a website with WIX
What do you like best about the product?
It is soo soo easy, I have done my own custom layouts a built a website from actual scratch but it is SO time consuming and if you are like me and don't want to just pay someone to do a job you might not be happy with- save yourself the time and money and just use WIX!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how it translates to the mobile website, unfortunately a lot of their layouts are completely different so you must be aware of what it looks like as a mobile site and edit that one specifically to your liking :) This was a huge issue when I first started my photography website as I did it all online and did not take into account that the majority of the people would be using their phones, so watch out with that!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use WIX for everything! I first discovered it in college when we were required to create a website for the first time, I also used it my senior year for an online portfolio- since then I use it for everything! My favorite use for it currently is for my personal photography website. People are always impressed to know you actually have a website to check out. It is great as well because it is already programmed and ready for customers to book on- which also links easily to your own personal calendar- loooove it!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely give it a shot- whether you know nothing or everything about creating a website- you will love it!
The most user friendly interface for non-tech savvy individuals
What do you like best about the product?
Everything is drag and drop and very intuitive. I was shocked at how easy it was so from the start I got kind of addicted to making new sites.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the tools have third party logos on them and you need to pay extra to remove them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My business website relies on wix. We do not need to hire a professional web designer which has proven costly in the past.
Easy, but slow
What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity, it's easy to use, and the themes are great starting points for beginners.
What do you dislike about the product?
The site itself is slow and has slow reaction to clicks and demands.

I do not like how you cannot do a lot of things, unless you pay for it.

Easy Peasy
What do you like best about the product?
You can make this website builder as complicated as you'd like- for most of us we like it simple. Great designs, added apps are user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can put multiple locations on a google map. Ended up having to use two maps. Which just looks tacky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making good use of my time- website maintenance is not where I can best serve.

Do it! You CAN run your own website.

Wow. What don't I like about Wix is probably a better question. It is so simple, with so many options, that it was fun to use.

I didn't like how (when I used it last) impossible it was to switch templates once you have put content in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wix made it really easy to create a professional, streamlined site with very little work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely a great tool for smaller groups and individuals! We ended up selecting WordPress over Wix ultimately. It had more customization and we liked all the applications that work with it. (Which was another area, at the time, that I thought Wix could improve.)
Wix makes designing websites absurdly easy
What do you like best about the product?
I love the variety of templates, the wide variety of apps that you can use, and the rather consumer friendly design. I like that they have a built in email marketing software and templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the apps, like the blogging one, can be rather glitchy. The email marketing can be glitchy as well. There's also not an easy way to communicate with some one for help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building our own personal websites and client websites. It's very flexible and can be used for most different types of websites
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for general websites, not the best if you are looking to incorporate blogging as a major use. Also doesn't come with email, but most do include a free domain name, so don't buy a domain name seperately.
Minimal learning curve with plenty of room to grow
What do you like best about the product?
It makes website building accessible to small organizations who may not have in house resources. It also consistently adds features and listens to its community of users about how to improve the product and experience. I've been using Wix for over 5 years and I've seen it transform remarkably.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little slow to catch up on more sophisticated design features, and you have to manually ensure responsiveness across devices. Sometimes the editor can be a little clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having an easy to update site that doesn't require technical skills, and being able to offer affordable solutions to clients who want a site that scales with them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure you experiment with many designs before making the site live since it's hard to switch templates. You should also establish your branding, colors, fonts, etc. in advance so you can more easily integrate that into your site design.
Wix is not user-friendly or as intuitive as other website platforms.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the Apps interface and the search capabilities within the website editor.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Usability and navigation of the website editor are difficult and unintuitive. Where/what to click, how to align and adjust items is frustratingly difficult to figure out, if it's possible at all. Features like “previous page” and other simple necessities not available
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for website hosting, mainly, but the email marketing feature is a nice addition.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure when creating a website using Wix, you start with the exact layout of details you'll want, long-term. There is no way to edit pages as an entire template or easily size/align items to match others on that page.

Slow to load. Too many advertisements. Pop ups and upgrades.
