Useful for small companies
What do you like best about the product?
It was very user friendly! Can easily teach yourself how to make a great website

There are limitations to what you can do, but that is to expected.

What do you like best about the product?
I love that there is so much flexibility with the adjustments available to the free templates. It is so easy to turn something that is cookie cutter into a beautiful, custom site.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the way the free URL's are configured, I find them to be required to be too long and awkward so I always have to make a tinyURL of my sites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wix is great for displaying content to my customers and easily creating new leads with a clear and concise contact form and ability to book things through my website.

What do you like best about the product?
It makes building your website easy and fun. You can customize so much of the website your building with all that wix has to offer

It can get very slow when update and building your website, but its bearable.

We are solving the promotion problems, less paper and ink. We bring every straight to the website

Wix vs. Squarespace
What do you like best about the product?
I needed to put a website together for a friend. I am actually a web developer and could have coded the site myself, but I wanted to host the ecommerce part, so I decided to try Squarespace. I knew about Wix, but their commercials annoyed me, so I started with Squarespace. I found Squarespace really hard to learn. I was doing this site in my spare time and the 14 day trial felt like a ticking time bomb as I became more and more frustrated trying to learn the interface. Finally with two days left to my trial on Squarespace, I decided to give Wix a try.
I was amazed at how quickly I could put up a site on Wix. Their help was beautifully styled and broken down into small steps with videos interspersed for complex operations. Within a day I had most of the site done and within three days (working in my spare time) it was finished. The base product is also free, so no ticking time bomb as my friend takes his time getting back to me with feedback. I can't say enough good things about this product.

What do you dislike about the product?
My only dislike is the way the site was styled on the iPad. It loads very slowly and took some tweaking to make it look right. It looks great on the phone and the web just using their interface to test and tweak it.

What do you like best about the product?
The various tools available in Wix. Building my website from scratch, I used Wix and I fell in love with it. Fell 8hrs in love lol.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I first started using it. It was a bit confusing. But after play around with it and seeing what I needed and reading instructional reviews. I understood and got comfortable using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use for my business website. So, I’m a nutshell it helps me get the word out with information pertaining to my business (i.e. current sales, updated prices, email marketing, etc.)

Sometimes is difficult for me to update my website. I will like to have a pop up window with tips and hints

What do you like best about the product?
I am not a programmer but I need to be able to add and change the website according to what my boss needs. With Wix it is just like using word and Photoshop because I can drag and drop what I need done.

I wanted to update the website with a new template but they are not compatible. You need to completely redesign the site using the new template and then make that one live.

Wix helps us to run a beautiful website to display our business with minimal effort.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Their full price is very reasonable but I would recommend waiting for their regular 50% off specials because you can't beat that value.
Wix is the best platform to use for a website when it isn't your core business.

It is really easy to create and modify a website, you get all of the advanced features such as video backgrounds, blogs, forums, etc which are standard features, and they do all the hosting and system upgrades for you so you don't have to worry.
Wix finally added the ability to use your own code within the website which opens up so many possibilities.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few customisation issues that you can't do just yet (but they are always working on adding new things). An example of this is on android chrome browsers where the navigation changes colour according to the website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This manages our company website which brings in a lot of customers. It isn't the focus of our business so it makes life easy that Wix handles all the complicated parts for us.

Make sure to use the SEO function Wix gives you so that you can be found easily on Google.
Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Wic is an easy to use software to create a site. They give you the areas you’re missing and they allow you to have an understanding of what it takes to create a site without the difficulties of coding, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
That even with the long term plan you can’t remove ads off of your website. along with that towards the final steps - if you are a high level designer - you can’t add all forms of media.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are easily creating website and they’ve been easy to train new personnel.
Great for personal sites
What do you like best about the product?
Wix is excellent for building free websites -- namely personal portfolios or small business websites. Ability to customize any template is outstanding and easy to use.

I run into errors sometimes with the interface -- either lagging response times or general buggy errors. Otherwise, not too many issues,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to build a free website/portfolio for myself for free which is extremely beneficial. Having a mobile-responsive site is also very important and Wix's customization is brilliant for that. The different graphic elements and photo gallery options make my site stand out.

If you're looking to make a portfolio site or are in need of a free site, Wix is great for making a professional & creative site that will stand out from the rest.
