Comprehensive features in one platform improve project management

  • June 02, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

In Unqork, I worked in different industries including insurance, banking sectors, pharmacy trials, and real estate. Currently, I am working on a financial investment project. Throughout these six projects in Unqork, we used it to integrate different systems, store databases, create workflows, case use cases workflows, and dynamic UIs, dashboards. We used almost all areas such as services and APIs, with most of them using data workflows where we manipulated data as per our requirements.

When I started working in Unqork, it was just entering the market. This is why we did not have proper predefined use cases in Unqork, and even now they are not fully available, only small snippets. We used these snippets, and from academic training and boot camp, we started developing small POCs before joining real-time projects. We developed cases based on experience and learned extensively. Based on our experiences, Unqork has also evolved significantly. Since 2021, there have been numerous changes in Unqork, including the designer portal, canvas, securities, and other features. We have implemented all new functionalities and features delivered by Unqork in quarterly patches.

Currently, I am working with a client where there is an agreement between the client and Unqork itself. Unqork provides software to the client under this agreement, and simultaneously, the Unqork product team uses this client environment as an early access environment. We are maintaining six projects - three completed and three in progress. They conduct experiments on live servers where applications are being used by different region users. The version I am using (71680) is not yet available in the market, as we have early access approximately six to seven months ahead.

What is most valuable?

Unqork provides everything by default as a tool. In the admin portal, we can configure everything related to module management, API management, roles, and groups immediately. We can maintain and manage services, databases, and almost everything in a single portal and tool. This is what I appreciate about Unqork. The platform has plugins, data workflows, and components, which we use extensively when approaching technical aspects.

The drag-and-drop functionalities in Unqork's developer portal are comprehensive. In the Unqork canvas, all components such as notepads, text areas, text fields, radio buttons, checkboxes, and drop-downs are provided without requiring code. Unqork provides default styling options, and if a project requires additional styling, it only needs minimal customization. Configurators do not need to write code for simple predefined elements in Unqork. This feature is similar to Pega, which I worked with in the past, but Unqork appears more advanced.

What needs improvement?

There are numerous areas for improvement in Unqork. For example, while they are replacing view grid with Vega grid, the Vega grid lacks certain features available in the view grid. In the view grid, we can have buttons against each row and events against each row event, which is not available in Vega grid.

Case management functionality is not currently available. Regarding versioning, while it is available to the market, it is not optimal. If versioning is deployed on any application, rolling back is not possible. When multiple people work on the same module in different versions or branches, merging can overwrite changes. The merging technology needs improvement in Unqork.

Connecting to the database is straightforward, but querying MongoDB and getting results requires additional effort. Case management is still unavailable to the general market. We attempted to implement it but had to step back as it did not meet all business functionalities. The Vega versioning also presents development challenges despite business interest.

For how long have I used the solution?

I received training in Unqork during the last quarter of 2020. I have over 4 years of experience in Unqork since 2021, and I am currently working on Unqork projects.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

I have not personally encountered deployment issues, though some colleagues have faced challenges specific to their design style. Upon reviewing their code within my company, I found that these issues could be resolved through enhanced codes and configurations.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Regarding scalability, performance shows some lag when retrieving data, loading styling, and loading pages. The speed and performance when connecting with different systems can be improved. I reported these concerns to the product team during one-on-one calls with the Unqork product team.

On a scale, scalability rates at 8 or 8.5, with room for improvement of 1 to 1.5 points. The platform still needs to incorporate AI, voice technology, and service request technology. For customer care applications, call integration directly into the application rather than phone systems would be beneficial.

How are customer service and support?

Unqork support is very effective. All requests raised have been addressed or received timely responses. The Unqork community portal and academy provide extensive information, with 60 to 70% of required information readily available. For additional inquiries, service requests receive prompt responses.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What other advice do I have?

Anyone, including freshers, can learn and start practicing in Unqork. I would rate this solution 9 out of 10.

Unqork includes multiple tools within its UDLC toolkit portal. It provides a release management application where users can select modules, data collections, applications, and workflows for promotion. The promotion process is straightforward and easy to learn.

Infosys, my current company, provides support and development for Unqork. Some companies partner directly with Unqork for product-related support. When product issues arise, service requests can be handled either by direct Unqork team members or partner companies.

In Unqork terminology, the term 'configurator' is used instead of 'developer'. Configurators do not need to write code for predefined elements in Unqork. While this feature is similar to Pega, Unqork offers more advanced capabilities.

Developers benefit from easy integration and UI development but face challenges with data manipulation and complex workflows

  • May 26, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I mostly work with Unqork to develop internal applications, and right now, I'm working with JPMorgan in a department called Asset Wealth Management. We try to automate processes that were previously done manually through emails, SharePoint, and Excel, which can be error-prone and time-consuming. We aim to serve internal employees rather than client-facing applications.

Only one application I have developed is client-facing, but the traffic for that application is very low.

What is most valuable?

With Unqork, you can develop user interfaces easily, and it's mostly beneficial for developers and firms rather than at the client level. The drag-and-drop feature makes it very easy and fast to develop, which drastically reduces costs compared to regular coding technologies that require database purchases and maintenance. With Unqork, everything comes in a package, so there's no need to worry about databases, provided your firm is okay with the security standards they follow.

Unqork makes data integration very easy, especially in how you make API calls and retrieve data from external APIs. They simplify the process to the point where even a business person can learn to integrate with other systems using the integration system in the administration tab. As a business person, I just need to use the applications and integrations already provided in Unqork.

What needs improvement?

The areas of Unqork that need improvement include the UI, as data-driven applications in banks require displaying data effectively on forms and dashboards. When working with JPMorgan, the data structures stored in APIs present challenges in retrieving and displaying data. It is tough to understand the data workflows in Unqork and manipulate them, especially for someone without experience. The functionality for data manipulation is not straightforward, and the transforms component requires additional coding, which complicates API responsiveness and impacts user experience due to latency issues.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Unqork for nearly more than 1 1/2 years, with a break in between. Before this, I used it for 8 months, and now again, I am using the tool for around 6-7 months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate Unqork's stability as an 8, because whatever they promise is consistent and reliable until production. I do not see any instabilities regarding the features they promised.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate Unqork's scalability as a 3 or 4; it is not highly scalable. For applications facing around 1 lakh customers, it's better to avoid using Unqork due to significant data latency issues and limited control over optimizations for API calls.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate the technical support for Unqork as a 9. We have a community where we can ask questions and usually receive support within 3-4 hours from other developers who can assist us.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have worked with Core AI, another low-code platform, recently, about 3 months ago, alongside Unqork.

How was the initial setup?

I would rate my experience with the initial setup of Unqork as a 10, because it is a cloud-based application. You can directly access it via any browser by entering the URL and land in the development environment without needing to download or set anything up.

What other advice do I have?

Unqork is assisting with AI-driven projects for my customers through Gen AI developments, but to be frank, I have never used that technology with AI. They are developing it, but it's not fully complete or widely used yet. We typically use our in-house AI to integrate by making API calls and then sending and receiving data.

As of now, with Persistent, I had one customer for whom we developed two applications, but unfortunately, they are not using either due to performance issues. This dates back to around 2021.

Now, I'm working with JPMorgan, where we have multiple in-house applications that everyone is using because they are not complex applications. We're using Unqork for systems such as ticketing, but I am also working on a more complex application that is still in the development phase.

I rate the pricing for Unqork as a 7. They should consider making their pricing more flexible, particularly for small applications where customers may only want to test if it works before committing further. In those cases, they shouldn't charge as much as they do for standard applications.

For JPMorgan, we have the license for approximately 2-3 crores per year, but I am not 100% sure since I haven't been involved in enterprise meetings for first-hand information.

Overall, I would rate Unqork 6.5 to 7 out of 10.

Enables rapid project delivery through dynamic functionality

  • May 09, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Mostly we build finance applications and insurance and finance. These days we stick to finance rather than insurance. In the beginning, we used to build insurance applications as well. That is all from the past experience I have.

What is most valuable?

What I appreciate best about Unqork is the dynamic refresh feature. It refreshes the modules or whatever data dynamically. We can complete applications faster compared to other platforms such as Pega, Appian, or others. That is what I hear and what I have seen also. That is the biggest achievement we can accomplish using Unqork. I'm not criticizing other technologies but we can achieve results faster compared to other technologies. The security level is also good. The drag and drop functionality in Unqork is very nice actually. When compared with other technologies or BPM technologies, it performs well. There is no need for technical experience or coding knowledge to work with Unqork. Users can easily learn from the documentation, debug, and develop.

What needs improvement?

I might have faced a problem with scalability. They are implementing a new version, which is not so good according to what I have heard from other configurers from other companies. Rather than moving to other versions, they should enhance the performance.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Unqork for more than three and a half years, approximately 3.6 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sometimes we encounter issues, but not frequently. Unqork is very reliable most of the time, with rare exceptions. We have experienced issues that can be resolved within three to five days because they deploy developments monthly. Due to that reason, it might affect performance or technical aspects, but they can resolve it. From a data breach perspective, it does not get affected. Only the performance aspect gets affected. For stability, I would rate it a nine.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My impressions of the scalability of Unqork are positive regarding the development of code and configuration. The workflow method and the module-based methods are good features.

How are customer service and support?

The support in terms of tickets we raise is good, but if there is an issue or breakdown in the environment, it takes some time for them to resolve the issue. Otherwise, they have a good supporting team.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

Regarding the initial setup, I find it straightforward. We just need to connect with their team and ask for devops-related requirements. They can install it and implement things according to the company's needs.

What other advice do I have?

Anyone can use Unqork. Every month, there is a new improvement in performance, component enhancement, new components, technical aspects, features, and security. The only observation about Unqork technology is that initially they provide basic devops services. If you want to increase the service for performance, we need to raise a request. There are basic, primary, secondary, and enterprise versions. Based on the investment in Unqork servers, the response time varies. For their support, I would rate them between seven to eight. I would recommend this product to other people. My advice is that if organizations want low cost with good features and good productivity, they can use this technology. Overall, I rate Unqork a nine out of ten.

Fast UI creation and responsive support improve project efficiency

  • May 07, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I am using Unqork in the insurance and finance domain. I work in India, and most projects come from companies we term as 'onshore.' Currently, I am working with Transamerica, an insurance company, and previously, I worked for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

What is most valuable?

The major differences with Unqork compared to other platforms include its drag-and-drop functionality, which makes it a low-code, no-code platform. Despite being launched in 2017 and having limited external documentation, it provides an internal platform for help. Unqork has partnered with MongoDB for database support within applications. I can create a fully-fledged UI much faster compared to traditional coding. For example, what might take a day using conventional methods may only take an hour or two with Unqork.

What needs improvement?

There are few aspects that need improvement. I can't find any documentation or instructional videos on YouTube. Learning requires going through certifications that can take several months. There's also a community page, but it doesn't offer instant responses like AI-powered platforms. Another issue is with design compatibility; Unqork has its own styling which often conflicts with designs provided by clients, requiring custom CSS to adjust without disturbing the existing styles.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Unqork for three years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

There were challenges like integrating certificates for SSO and HTTP, but these were quickly resolved by the Unqork team, who are highly responsive through their Zendesk ticket system.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have been using Unqork for three years and have not faced any kind of stability issues. The only limitation is the lack of external documentation.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I haven't observed any scalability issues. Our projects contain multiple modules, and Unqork allows creating databases within its containers, offering great flexibility without any concerns.

How are customer service and support?

The Unqork team is highly available and responsive. They offer solutions quickly, and I rate their technical support as excellent.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before working with Unqork, I have used low-code/no-code platforms like Bubble UI, Workato, and Boomi by Dell for previous projects.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward. For basic tasks, all it takes is dragging and dropping components, making it very easy to use. Certificate integration is simple, requiring string input to update.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have worked with other low-code/no-code platforms like Bubble UI and Workato but not as direct alternatives to Unqork.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Unqork around eight out of ten. It is a good platform, but the lack of external resources and documentation makes solving issues challenging. For API endpoints, Unqork requires manually checking modules, unlike the ease found in traditional coding. For these reasons, Unqork scores less in some areas despite its strengths in quick development and built-in resources.

Optimized data collection fosters user validation but faces challenges in UI-driven applications

  • April 25, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

We are working for a leading insurer in America. The purpose of the application is to validate whether the user is eligible for the insurance, including coverage details and underwriting screens. Unqork is efficient in collecting information through various channels and APIs. It populates the data based on sign-in types, such as direct login or SSO login, and then redirects users to underwriting screens. The system validates user eligibility and sends updates to another channel, like an AWS system, which decides the user's eligibility or application processing status.

What is most valuable?

The integration of API components is valuable. We use a component called a plugin in Unqork, which fetches data from any schema, whether external or internal. Recent updates allow direct data fetching from local databases, enhancing flexibility without needing microservices. Unqork optimizes the process of storing and fetching data through plugins, making it easy compared to other products and enhancing productivity.

What needs improvement?

Unqork is not efficient for building e-commerce sites where the user interface is more dominant than the data. While it handles backend functionalities well, user interface-focused applications like multiple complex dashboards face limitations. These areas need improvements in Unqork.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Unqork for almost two years now.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The deployment process is straightforward with Unqork. From staging to QA, we have a service administration tool to visualize which modules need promotion. It is a matter of one click to deploy, making it efficient.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Unqork is stable. In our experience, there have been no major production issues due to Unqork in the 1.5 years it has been in production. While minor bugs occasionally occur, they are not significant, and the platform remains reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

If considering scalable functionalities, Unqork rates eight out of ten. However, when managing exceptionally large data volumes, the architecture might require adjustments, making it about six and a half to seven out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

The interaction with Unqork's technical support lacks efficiency in terms of speedy responses. We generally communicate through a single point of contact linked to our client's license, and there is room for improvement in the promptness of addressing issues.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Unqork is the first no-code platform I am using. Though I am familiar with another platform called OutSystems, Unqork is more efficient as it is a no-code platform, which eliminates the need for traditional coding.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup can be challenging for those new to low code methods. Transitioning from traditional coding in Python or Java to a no-code platform like Unqork can be difficult initially but becomes easier once you understand the scenarios for use.

What about the implementation team?

Deployment can be handled by one person, however, the number of people required for maintenance depends on the application's scope. Two to three knowledgeable individuals are sufficient for managing maintenance.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am not certain about the annual licensing cost, but it is somewhat on the pricier side. It's justified if all features of Unqork are fully utilized.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

As far as I know, my colleagues are using OutSystems, but I find Unqork offers a more efficient way to build applications without needing to write any code.

What other advice do I have?

If you're leveraging all of Unqork's functionalities and features fully, the investment is worthwhile. My overall rating for Unqork is seven out of ten. Efficiency in using no-code features makes it a good fit when fully utilized.

Improved project workflow with minimal coding and comprehensive UI solutions

  • April 25, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I am currently working on an insurance project based on the Unqork platform. My use cases include creating policy details screens and beneficiary screens to collect insurance data. This data is saved into a schema, and I manipulate and retrieve it using the front-end Unqork UI. I also integrate external APIs in the service administration to retrieve and pass all the necessary data.

What is most valuable?

Unqork is scalable and easy to use, especially for those who are not interested in extensive coding. Its drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to implement logic and relationships between components with just logical thinking. Unqork's scalability allows me to adjust performance or client requirements using external services. The Vega Grid feature benefits the UI designer schema, providing an all-in-one grid solution. Additionally, the data model feature allows reuse across common schemas.

What needs improvement?

I feel that the design and view aspects of Unqork could be improved. I need to add extra CSS to enhance its appearance. Offering pre-built CSS options to users would be beneficial. Additionally, the setup for API calls was initially challenging, especially when dealing with service logs and transforming large JSON codes for validation and PDF generation.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with the Unqork tool for three years and four months.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The deployment process was guided by Unqork Academy's documentation. By following best practices, the setup, including workflows and modules, takes about thirty minutes each.

How are customer service and support?

I frequently rely on tech support from Unqork and typically receive answers within three days. They also offer workarounds when necessary. I rate their support as eight out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have experience in Power Platform, including Power Apps, Canvas Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. Unqork's performance is better than Power Apps, which can be slow with many components.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward for the front-end. However, I experienced difficulties with the API setup, specifically in calling APIs within APIs and dealing with service logs.

What about the implementation team?

What is our primary use case?

Initially, I started working with Unqork for our real estate clients, creating a platform where users can list, sell, and rent properties. The platform was interactive, allowing clients and consumers to engage in property transactions. I also worked on a digital onboarding platform for Transamerica to simplify the onboarding process of clients for retirement plans and fund management. The goal was to convert traditional, lengthy processes into quick, digital ones.

How has it helped my organization?

Unqork has helped reduce the time complexity and development time significantly. Tasks that traditionally took two days can be accomplished in four hours with Unqork, thus saving time and money.

What is most valuable?

Unqork is a low-code, no-code platform that provides pre-built functionalities, allowing quick development by just dragging and dropping components. It supports both front-end and back-end development, being cloud-based, offering flexibility in usage. I can use Unqork for front-end, back-end, or both, enabling seamless integration with existing systems. Unqork sets up development, QA, UAT, and production environments in the cloud, facilitating easier testing and deployment. Improvements over time include features like version control which have enhanced its functionality significantly. Though there were issues initially with features like branching, Unqork has been improving day by day.

What needs improvement?

Although Unqork has made improvements in development view, I suggest focusing on data handling and integration performance, especially with higher data volumes. This includes making platforms smoother for high data volume handling. Another area I would like to see enhancements is regarding sophisticated development UI; more focus should be on performing optimally than having a sophisticated developer UI.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Unqork for more than three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Unqork is generally stable and reliable when following the best practices and recommendations provided by Unqork's documentation. Issues arise when developers do not adhere to recommended guidelines, leading to performance degradation.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Unqork benefits business projects by speeding up development time. However, when developing large platforms with significant traffic, there are scalability challenges, which might affect performance.

How are customer service and support?

Unqork's technical support is efficient, allowing users to create tickets directly within their environment. I have had positive experiences where issues were addressed promptly within 48 hours.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have not worked with other low-code, no-code solutions before using Unqork.

How was the initial setup?

Initial setup is straightforward as Unqork is cloud-based. Clients receive all the necessary credentials and rights, making it easy for users to log in and start development.

What about the implementation team?

The simplicity of Unqork's setup allows for easy user management and permissions configuration.

What was our ROI?

The platform offers a mid-range pricing model, similar to other solutions in the market, leading to reasonable cost savings and ROI.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My knowledge is limited to Unqork’s certification pricing; I am not aware of specific platform pricing.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I explored another platform called Decisions but found Unqork to be simpler and more understandable.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend Unqork for internal platforms and domains like insurance with manageable traffic. However, I am cautious about recommending it for public platforms with high traffic until improvements in handling large data volumes are made. I rate Unqork as an eight out of ten for its overall functionality. Overall, I rate the product eight out of ten.
